I'm sure it's been asked before, but I couldn't find the thread. Why can't Dish Network carry HTV? Dish has an on demand service you can use if you have a broadband internet connection. Even if they could offer just specific shows, it would be great.

In Demand (which HTV is a part of) is jointly owned by Comcast Cable, Cox Cable, and Time Warner Cable, aka the competition of Satellite TV. Why would they let Satellite TV carry something that is one of cable's main selling points?

I think you're missing the point. In Demand would lose $$$ if they gave an exclusive product over to satellite. It would be like Howard Stern letting his Sirius show be broadcast on clear channel stations around the country. People who have Sirius just for Howard would drop it and the company would go out of business even faster than it is now. You want to hold on to exclusive content.

I see your point about exclusivity, but how many people are making a switch to cable for that reason alone? I don't watch much tv, and a lot of the tv shows I do watch, I watch online (hulu, etc), so I only have the bottom end HD package from dish because I live in the f-in boonies and can't get a signal any other way.
At least an online subscription, I mean, it sounds to me like most of the programing is more or less "internet quality" rather than "tv quality".
I guess I could torrent, but I just feel wrong doing that and if I could pay a few bucks a month to watch online, I probably would.

That's a bad analogy. If iNDemand licensed Dish or DirecTV to carry Howard TV, they wouldn't lose money. Who would cancel their cable subscription to subscribe to Dish Network? MOST people, like myself, have satellite because cable isn't an option where I live.

If cable is offered in your area and you have a Sattelite service, call that cable company and ask them about getting Howard TV. I have Charter cable and I do have my phone and internet with them but I have Directv and they are coming next friday to hook up a HD box and for $5 per month, I get all of their HD channels and all that is offered with On Demand, I still have to pay the $13.99 per month for Howard Tv but I think it is still a good deal. I don't want to give up Directv.
