Regardless if Stern was converting to it or not. I have given series thought of getting one. My only regret is that the last car radio i bought is XM ready.
I am waiting to see if Stern will make his way to los angeles so i can probably nab one free. if not,,,,
I will give in and buy one i been a fan since his channel 9 show.

Hell no I would rather just listen to my IPOD and cut the radio out completely.

I have a home unit and love it. I got the lifetime subscription. I didn't know I would like it as much as I do because I don't really listen to regular radio, but I love the music channels and I like the Raw Dog comedy channel.

I ain't paying $12.95 a month for something I can get for free. In LA there's entertaining radio on KFI and KCRW and on Internet at ProtonRadio.com

By the way how many vacation day will Howard take when he moves to Sirius? Will you be refunded for days he takes off?

I will buy one once I get the funds to acquire it. I'm a college student so I am cash-strapped all the time.

Got it last weekend. Once you get one, regular radio becomes a thing of the past.

Not getting one, already have XM. Whether you get XM or Sirius, you will never go back to FM again.

If the move continues as proposed I will be putting one on my christmas list next year. Until then I think I can live without it.

Im looking at a new head unit for my truck that is Sirius ready but the only problem is that the Sony CDX-M8805X the one I really want is (((XM))) ready plus I already have the tuner and antenna from a couple of months ago for (((XM))) It seems Sony doen't make Sirius. Since Howards not going to be on untill next year anyways........ I'll ask for Sirius next X-Mas :D

I listen at work and he is not work friendly as it is....and when he starts talking about pussy this and "f" that and whatever else it will be hard to listen to at work so I probably won't be getting it....maybe I'll listen if I can still get it on the streamer.

Probably - but I will wait a until next year or when Howard gets fired from Infinity and starts at Sirius. Do they have package deals - so my wife and I can both get a radio and or subscription? Or do we need to get two subscriptions - one for each radio unit?

$13 a month for radio? $100+ just for the reciever! Hell no.

I'll live without Stern for a few years. Atleast, until Sirius gives out better deals, *free reciever w/1 yr. subs, etc* ;)

It's $12.95 for one tuner and any additonal tuner in your household is $6.99. It would run around $20 bucks a month for 2 radios. Thats only 66 cents a day as oppose to 40 cents a day for one radio. Thats only a extra 26 cents a day :D

Now it's $20 a month... sounds like my comcast cable that starts at $29.99 a month, then goes to $75 after a few months.

I will be getting one soon. I don't mind paying $12.95 for entertainment. I just remember how much it sucked when Howard got taken of the air in South Florida.

You assholes who don't want to pay for radio...

Do you idiots pay for cable? Why? You can get just as good entertainment on broadcast TV can't you?

I'm on the free seven day inline trial and I am in love with Sirius. Octane 20 is the most kick ass radio station I've ever listened to. I've had it on for the past two hours, no commercials and the jock came on once I think. The music selection is phenomenal. I sent the offer for the Stern Rally to my girlfriend since my birthday and christmas is coming. I'd go satellite even without Howard. His coming to Sirius makes it even better.

I can't wait.

I'll be in. I've heard XM and it's great. I'm sure Sirius is too. I am going to wait until Stern's on though.

I picked up Sirius in August. Had XM for over a year and when Sirius started airing on my Dish I liked the selection better and switched. I plan on getting a new deck for the car and a hardwired setup which is cleaner and clearer than the add on unit I bought.

I have XM and enjoy it. I'll be switching to Sirrius at some point soon though. I'll pick up the hardware, but probably wait until Stern starts there until I start with the subscription.

Better get the hardware while you can. I think there will be a big Xmas run, and I wouldn't be suprised if Mel buys out Howard's contract, and then they will really be scarce.

I'd be VERY surprised if Mel buys out Stern's contract. Stern makes too much money for the company for them to get rid of him early.

If it was any other CEO than Mel aka Howard's boy, I'd agree with you.

Better safe than sorry--I don't want to miss the 1st show on the Big Dog.

Yeah i'll probably get sirius, although i am kinda reluctant.
The whole thing is really expensive, from the hardware to the subscription it costs a fortune compared to normal radio which is pretty much free in every respect now.

There's nothing free about it. You have to put up with like 20-plus minutes of ads every hour.

Once you try Sirius, you'll understand what I mean.

I'll be getting it....The money I'll be up on from my SIRI shares will make up for the price of the hardware and a lifetime subscription....

I listen to the radio all day at work, so it will be 110% worthwhile.

I'll buy it for sure. I would think that anyone hanging out on a Stern Fan Site would enjoy the show enough to shell out a couple bucks. Maybe I'm wrong though?

Once you try Sirius, you'll understand what I mean. Well that's a silly comment. The only cost to you to listen to normal radio, is a simple radio receiver (I can buy one at Wal Mart for $10). There is no cost to you (monetary wise) to listen to commercials. However there is quite a large initial cost for any satellite radio.

I don't consider under $150 a large inital cost, but whatever.

When I want to hear content like when I'm in my car and a station is in ads the whole time I'm driving, I consider that paying a price.

Santa has already confirmed that I will have a Sirius Christmas!

Also, I'm going with the LIFETIME subscription to make sure that I get my money's worth moving forward. You know how prices can/will go up in the future.
