View Full Version : Is anybody watching the Sirius stock??
stinkynutz 11-23-2004, 09:52 AM This shit has gone nuts since Howard went on Letterman & Sirius announced the hiring of Mel.
I have made over $1000.00 in the last 2 days.
I already had 600 shares, and I got my resources around and bought another 400 shares to make it an even 1000!!
Sirius has just hit the 800,000 listener mark and has stated that it expects to be at 1,000,000 listeners by the end of the year.
I will have my radio tomorrow (thanks Joey for the promo info!) and I am ready for the ride!
I may not be done buying stock, either$$
WOO HOO!!!

JoeyBoots 11-23-2004, 10:10 AM Sirius stock since Howard went on Letterman:

JoeyBoots 11-23-2004, 10:21 AM Fox just did a quick report and said that had you bought this stock a year ago it has gone up 237% and they also said that Mel Karmazin bought 1,500,000 shares on Friday as a show of confidence and has already made 2 million on his purchase.......this is so good. :hw:
stinkynutz 11-23-2004, 10:48 AM I take it you got some, Joey?
radcon 11-23-2004, 11:05 AM I bought in the day Howie announced at 3.90..........yea me
will325i 11-23-2004, 11:05 AM The day Howard announced his Sirius contract, I bought 1000 shares at $3.90.
I believe the comment that I made that day was " If Howard was going to get rich, so will I"
I'm keeping it until the day they have more subscriber than XM. Then it's sell, sell, sell. :D
evrc1ear99 11-23-2004, 11:14 AM If you need any cash for XMas I'd sell this week. It won't last at this price and will either lower or remain constant for some time...
blylek 11-23-2004, 11:19 AM I bought it when Howard mentioned that he wouldn't be going to XM after they hired Dopey and Fagthony...Sirius was in the toilet then, so I figured wtf. I seriously doubt it will ever approach $80 again, but if Mel has anymore magic, you never know.
blylek
just curious anyone know what effect o&a had on XM stock prices?
NWSternGirl 11-23-2004, 11:38 AM I have made over $1000.00 in the last 2 days.
If you didn't sell, then you haven't made a dime on the deal. :rolleye2:
djequipment 11-23-2004, 11:49 AM I've been buying SIRI since January.... I've bought as low as $2.12, with most of my purchases taking place between $2.75 and $3.50.
Between SIRI and ROXI (Roxio/soon to be Napster) I've seen STRONG gains the past few weeks.
Hugomarink 11-23-2004, 11:50 AM I bought 100 shares at $2.90 back in the spring, well before Howard announced he was going to Sirius. But, I figured his move to satellite was inevitable and I figured it would be to Sirius since Clear Channel was rumored to be part owner of XM and I figured he'd steer clear of that. Now I wish I'd bought more stock but, at the time, I wasn't sure if the stock was going anywhere.
For the record, I now think that satellite radio is definitely the future of radio. I am pretty confident that both Sirius and XM will continue to grow and will eventually be as common to society as regular radio is today. I also think that Sirius and XM will probably merge at some point as it seems pointless to have two different services providing much of the same thing. I feel that even beyond what Howard Stern can bring to the medium that there are tons of possibilities for innovative programming on satellite radio that you'd never get on standard radio. I think it'll be a huge growth business in a few years.
Of course I could be totally wrong but I don't think I am.
JoeyBoots 11-23-2004, 12:23 PM I take it you got some, Joey?
yeah you can say that. :hw:

"SIRIUS continues to have the strongest balance sheet in satellite radio, with cash of approximately $800 million. "
Joey, what a DICK.You beg for money to fly to vegas and now you're out gambling in the stock market. I sure hope you plan on selling those shares to get to vegas this year cause my donations are done.
If you donated, shut the fuck up. You dont have a right to yell at him for what he does with his money.
I never donate to fags on the net. I'd rather burn $$

ricky 11-23-2004, 02:50 PM Let me ask some stupid questions:
First, the stock is on a big roll at the moment with with 3 events:
1. Howards announcement on Letterman
2. Mel's placement as CEO
3. Mel's large stock purchase
With these 3 events occuring within a day or so apart, will the stock come down somewhat, offering a chance to buy at a lower price?
That is, will the stock cool off for a while between the original announcement and the time it'll take Howard to actually go to Sirius. Once Howard goes to Sirius, and the subscriptions come in, the stock should go up quickly.
Thanks.
djequipment 11-23-2004, 03:28 PM You may see a dip back under $5.50 or so in mid December. SIRI is on pace to hit 1,000,000 subscribers sometime between December 28 and January 5. (sooner if x-mas sales really pop)
Once they hit the million mark and issue that press release the stock will be flying more.
Buy on the dips and accumulate!!!
ricky 11-23-2004, 03:57 PM If something should happen where Howard leaves the station early and goes to Sirius by mid-2005, the stock would take off fast due to the quick purchase of subsriptions.
I wanted to get in and was cooled off by my broker. (He said the stock was on a "roll" and to wait).
akryte 11-23-2004, 03:58 PM I got 1000 shares at $3.65. I wish I had bought more. Wait till Howard starts broadcasting, the stock will go though the roof.
