i was wondering if you could add something (preferences) in your profile where the messages left by visitors could be hidden to others? it is a little weird that a visitor can go to your profile and click on VIEW CONVERSATION and see what the two of you say.
if a person is not a supporter leaving a message may be the only option. just a thought.

1st, it's not a private message. it's a guestbook. if you want it to be private, use the private message system.

2nd, there already is a profile option for this sort of thing. you can make it semi-private so only people on your friends can leave messages. you can also make it so only people on your friends list and see the messages. go to the profile privacy page and you'll find what you are looking for
