We had a drop down in the threads which listed all the posters and when you'd click on a name, it would limit that thread to just their posts in that thread. I call this modification, "Just Me".
when I originally made it the idea was to limit a forum to just the threads the reader made or in a thread to just the posts the reader made. thus, just me. once I got that far, I got the idea to do it for any member. if you remember I had this on the old site too. I guess I should rename it to something that makes more sense but I like the Just Me name.
anyway, I had disabled it becasue it wasn't great in big threads. a 1000 page thread with hundred of posters was just too fucking much.
it's back on now & it shouldn't effect performance at all. it's now using VB's who posted popup. when you click the "Thread Tools" link at the top of a thread, you'll see links "view just my posts", "view just buddy posts", and "open posters list" unt he header "Post Filter". Clicking just my posts limits the thread to your posts. Click just buddys limits the thread to just posts made by your buddys. clicking the other link opens a popup with a list of all the posters in the current thread. you can click their name to go to their profile or you can click on the post count to reload the thread showing just their posts.
it's so much nicer this way.
it also works from the forum display page. when looking a the list of threads you can click on the reply count. it opens the same popup with the posters & does the same thing.
when you are in a thread that has the posters filtered, whether it's just you or just someone else, you'll see a new option in the dropdown that lets you go back to view all posts.

Additionally you can do this same sort of thing on the forum display page. If you click on the "Forum Tools" link you'll see a "Thread Filter" heading. From here you can click either "Show Just my Threads" or "Show Just Buddy Threads".
