View Full Version : errors when trying to post DFWSternFan1975 04-24-2009, 05:00 PM I keep getting an error when trying to post Likwid 04-27-2009, 11:50 AM What error are you getting? And I assume it's not preventing you from posting (hence your post here) Fuckinhigh 04-28-2009, 09:42 AM Just happend again to me. I am not logged in and reading thread, I want to reply. Log in using the quick box, located just below the black box with all the nice pull down menus. It says 'Thank you for logging in Fuckin High.' 'Please wait or click here if the server does not redirect you.' Then redirects properly and looks like I am logged in, quick reply box appears at the bottom, says 'Welcome Fucking High.' 'You last visited today at 10:46AM.' on top. Reply using the quick box at the bottom. When I click, 'Post quick relpy.' it thinks a second and looks like the reply will go through. A fanned out circle appears just above the quick reply box, a message then appears telling me that I am not logged in, it instructs me to refresh the page and log in before trying again. This is really annoying and really an error. Fuckinhigh 04-28-2009, 09:46 AM It happend again when I was posting the previous post. I had to go back to the sub forum menu and log in from there. It isn't logging you in when you use the quick log in box on the top of the page just below the nice black pull down menus, and it only doesn't work when you log in this way inside a thread. It says: You may post new threads You may post replies You may not post attachments You may edit your posts But if I try to post it tells me 1.) You do not have permission. Couple things may be happening and none of them are answers you're going to like. Most likely this is your browser that is causing the issues, some browsers and addons have prevented cookies from being loaded in real time (I certainly have had this issue before), my reasoning for thinking this: Temporary session cookie is set by logging in, your browser doesn't seem to store it until you actually refresh the page, you try quick reply and since vBulletin has your session login for the active page it thinks you have access to Post a Quick Reply, but when it checks against your active cookies it doesn't see a valid login. This would explain why you are able to login from the box at the top but not within the thread. Couple troubleshooting steps: Load up your browser with addons and extensions off If FireFox start>run> firefox -safe-mode if IE start>run>iexplore -extoff Test the 2 ways you mention above (this thread works, or use the spam forum) What happens? Same behavior? This may help limit it down to a browser issue.... a addon/extension issue.... a deeper issue with the forums. Hope this helps HeyNanners 06-09-2009, 06:41 PM I cant post thread either, instead i get this... # The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters. HeyNanners 06-10-2009, 09:58 AM I hope someone sees my post cause I obviosely cannot create a new thread to get some attentino.. btw i also get that message when i try to reply to a post or submit a signature. |
