View Full Version : Are you kidding me? Fuck ESPN!!!
bigvic 05-04-2009, 07:24 PM I was watching some espn and they were promoting their wed. night game which is the mets and phils. It dawned on me that almost every team that was in the playoffs last year has been on espn so far this year except for one, the Dodgers. What kind of bullshit is that!? I know that they are completely biased towards the east, but are you kidding me. They've shown every fucking ny/boston game so far this year and even the fucking brewers have been on at least once. THAT'S BULLSHIT!
KingOfAllWhites 05-04-2009, 07:26 PM Doesnt help that the Dodgers would have to start at 500pm local time to coincide with prime time on the east coast. But ESPN is definately biased, nobody would argue that.

That is definately true. ESPN is god damn awful! Thats why you have to have the MLB Extra Innings
oneldef 05-04-2009, 08:45 PM They should only televise innings 4 - 7 since that's all the L.A. "fans" in attendance see anyway. :jj:

Figures. A stupid ass unknowledgable east coast comment. At every baseball game fans leave early and LA fans do stay for the entire game. For you people that have never been to Dodger Stadium, in the past cameras behind home plate allowed you to see beyond the left/ right field pavilions and since the stadium is one of the few that has it's own parking lot, it made it look as though every car was leaving early. Now they built team store beyond the pavilions, so you can't see the parking lot. At every other stadium, the parking is spread out within a city so you can't tell.
When you attend a game, then you can talk.

Hey Dummy, I live in LA now and I own a house that's about 15 minutes from Chavez Ravine. I've been to probably 20 Dodger games. And no, not, "every baseball game fans leave early" like your assertion. Dodger fans get there late and leave early, it's just a fact. Shit, people left Game 1 of the 1988 World Series in the eight inning. The stadium is embarrassingly barren early and late. But you're right, the parking is a nightmare, however, that's a lame excuse and you know it. The Dodgers have a great team this year, too bad only a few L.A. "fans" have seen them play all 9 innings. BTW, you should try attending a game in a "real" sports city before you go making dumb comments. But nice try FatVic.
DestroVega 05-05-2009, 08:08 AM can you see the games where you live? If so, who gives a fuck what games ESPN decides to show.

Great, you can watch Vin Scully live. You fouled the reponse with the Doger have the best record line... Wait and see, Oh thats right no body waits past the 6th inning! Nobody east of Denver cares about the Dodgers.

I have gone to a "real" sports city to watch a game and funny how, again, fans always leave early, no matter the town. But i'll give you the getting there late. Considering how traffic sucks, I don't think people are going to leave work early to get to a game on time every day of the week.
Billyfromsphily 05-05-2009, 09:21 AM AWWWW who are you kidding? The fans leave by Jumbo Jets when the Dodgers are losing.

jimmyritt33 05-05-2009, 10:21 AM Sure, like all the "johnny come lately" Phillies fans that have been fans since......2005. And don't give me any 1993 bull because from 1995 on, the Vet was a ghost town. Just like it was from 1985 thru 1993.

Yeah, funny how that works. In the 80's when the yankees sucked major dick, attendace at yankee stadium was terrible. Not until the late 90's did they finally start breaking the 3 mill mark.
A.Lange=Crazy 05-05-2009, 10:56 AM They usually show a 10 PM game on Monday, but this year they haven't.

Not only was the attendance horrible, big Stein was threating to move the team to Jersey. Thats how bad it was. Not until they started winning did they break the 3 million mark. That is the same time guys like Wild and Stumpy hopped on the bandwagon.

You mean "Johnny leave early" don't you?
oneldef 05-05-2009, 12:16 PM Dodgers come back to win against the Padres in the 9th w/ 4 HRs in a row! Very exciting...too bad more than 50% of the crowd is already gone. I see LOTS of empty yellow seats.
BTW, this game took place on Sept 18, 2006 against a division opponent in good weather during a pennant race. The Dodgers were in 1st Place by 0.5 games over the Padres - their opponents in the clip. If Dodger "fans" don't care about their team, why should ESPN :dontknow:
