GETTING ON THE SHOW: Each week I start a roundtable brainstorming thread where the fans help build our topics and a listening thread where people discuss the show while it's happening. if you'd like to do the show, get in there and participate. Once you've been around for awhile and see how the show works, ask to be on and pick a open date. The schedule can be found here. GUESTS OF THE SHOW: The show airs from the Sirius studios in NYC Times Square. We're in studio 21 on the 36th floor of the McGraw Hill building which is on the corner of 49th & 6th. (Google MAP (http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q=6th+Ave+%26+W+49th+St,+New+York,+NY+10020,+USA&um=1&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&resnum=1&ct=title)) The building spans all the way over to 48th & there's a back entrance so you can get to the lobby from either 48th or 49th.

Guests should be there at 6PM so we can do mic checks. The show goes live at 7PM. You can not bring any friends. Our studio is very small and there's really no place for them. I'll need your full name in advance and you need to bring your ID for security. If I don't put you on the list and you don't have your ID, you will not be able to get in. Go to the security desk downstairs to get a pass. They'll tell you where to go from there.

If you are driving, you can park across the street from Hurley's Bar. If you go to Hurley's and get a drink or food, they will validate the parking slip bringing the price down to $18. Here's a map. This is an office and you are expected to be on your best behavior. It's not some free for all party. You shouldn't do anything that you would do when stopping by the bank. I know you are a Stern fan but we're not out at the bar. You need to be cool. You cannot bring alcohol, take off your clothes, make noise, or bother people. If you see a celebrity, please don't stop them and ask for an autograph or photo.

You are a guest of the show. That means you are answering questions & joining in on a discussion. You are not the host asking questions or interviewing the guests & callers. You are not doing standup and thought it's great when you are funny, it's bad when you try to force punchlines into the discussion. Everyone will get a chance to talk so you don't battle the other guests or callers for airtime. When everyone is talking over one another, it just sounds bad.

You CAN NOT walk around Sirius. You will be escorted from the upstairs lobby to the studio and back out. Do not take it upon yourself to just walk around & check things out. Nobody is allowed to stop by other shows. DO NOT stop by Ferrall's studio under any circumstances even if you think it's OK. I've been told by management that it's not. If you'd like to be a guest on Ferrall, they need to put you on their guest list.

DO NOT sign the wall.

You may take photos in the studio when were are off air but please do not take pictures in the halls or lobby.

All plugs must be approved in advance. If you are going to be on the show and you have something to plug, you need to let me know the day before. ANYONE WHO PLUGS A WEBSITE OR BUSINESS WITHOUT PERMISSION WILL NOT BE INVITED BACK.

(my comment - i watched it live and was totally disgusted with artie. hearing artie's various explanations on the Show today (coaching from HBO exec, positive feedback from joe and paul) has me back to neutral - but even if an HBO exec tells you to "go nuts", does your go-to "nutz" material have to be insulting the host, his guests, his show, calling people cocksuckers, making homo phobic comments, dropping gratuitous f bombs, and talking over people?

artie on joe buck...this seems like a story that isn't going away anytime soon...did it make or break that show...i think it created buzz that show would never have gotten...years with costas doing that show, and only a select few cable listeners probably ever knew about it...

artie would ask, bottom line was it funny? I feel artie made it the artie show. as a stern fan, that's great. was it funnier the way artie did it, yep it sure was.

BUT......

as the host of a show, i'd have been aggravated. he honestly hijacked the whole show & the host had a different direction he wanted to go. it might have been some boring ass we were in HS together bullshit, but it's what he wanted & it's his show. he had made plans & invited guests wrapped around this plan. artie didn't fit the panel and instead of joking with the show joe wanted, he joked at it and prevented joe from doing the show he was trying to.
