Loved the one where they thought the chef cooked the dog and cat for the Stooges' meal.

As Curly was eating his food, it kept "meowing" when he touched it. When Larry grabbed the hot dogs, they "barked" at him.

Sounds stupid, but it was funny.

The Stooges were always a guy thing. I've never met a single woman who had a good thing to say about them. Women hate them.

I wouldn't expect all young people to 'get' The Stooges. Along the same lines, I gave my 'Fast Times At Ridgemont High' DVD to my friend's 21 year old daughter. She couldn't believe we ever found it funny. This was from someone brought up on American Pie flicks. The fact that Ridgemont paved the way for later R-rated teen comedies meant nothing to her.

I was raised with the Stooges. My dad's a religious fan. His dad actually got to see them live. I've probably seen virtually EVERY short.

"Tassles In the Air", "Some More Of Samoa", "Woman Haters", "Dizzy Pilots", the one where they're plumbers (and Bess Flowers gets the rag in the face), The one where they purchase the racehorse named Thunderbolt, The Ice Men... all classics. I still laugh out loud watching the Stooges. And I like Shemp better than curly.

And I like Shemp better than curly.

i used to tell my older brother i liked shemp (and had a lil' crush on him too in a very weird non-sexual way) and he'd always make fun of me for it. he'd groan, "shemp? he's the worst one! what's wrong with you?" even though i loved curly (wasn't that fond of curly joe/joe), i just always found shemp to have a sweetness to him. can't explain it. larry always seemed to crack me up the most though. some of the things he'd say would have me rollin'.

The original (Moe, Larry & Curly) Stooges shorts had as little to do with mainstream comedy of the 30s as they do with mainstream comedy of today. The "product of a different time" argument is nonsense -- the Stooges' comedy is unique and timeless -- that's why they're still on TV, and that's why we're talking about them now. If you don't understand that, you're either a moron or you have a vagina.

i don't know about the original stooges but this new movie they are talking about with jim carrey, robert downey jr. and i forget the other guy will be soooo awesome........or it could really suck, time will tell. I do love the tom burg. story about interviewing them and moe getting mad on the phone:
Moe: who gave you this number?
tom: larry.
Moe: (disgusted) Larry!
also i think one of the guys from the band (Iggy and the Stooges) became freinds with Larry Fine when he got old and was in a nursing home.

the three stooges were simply
underrated geniuses.

the truth is, they suffer from the fact that so much of the comedy which has followed theirs has been a derived and watered down version of what they did.

in other words, looking at them for the first time today and just saying "meh, sucks" means you're not taking into consideration the limitations they had at the time or their place in the timeline of things.

remember, these were comedy shorts. the studio was dumping heaps of money on other things and taking the stooges for granted. they got the short end of the stick from their own studio. they hardly had any time to produce their stuff and curly literally worked himself to death.

and that's another thing. there has never been a more natural comedian than
curly fucking howard.
if you've ever laughed at anything done by portly comedians from lou costello to chris farley...you can thank curly.

I think it's the stupid sound effects that have all you retards hypnotized

I'm with this guy....Maybe that was funny in the 50's. I'm 36...Are you the same people who think Jackass is funny? How about Jackie's Joke Hunt? (And I hate Dane Cook too).

I'll tell you what...i watched the clam chowder clip and the Press, Press, Pull clip (that was especially weak) and didn't laugh once. Post some good ones so me and this other guy can get in on the joke.

I have been praying day and night that the Tom Bergeron interview with one of those guys somehow falls through the cracks and we never hear another word about it...please God.

My 6 year old nephew loves the 3 Stooges. Generations to come will also enjoy them.

At the end of Michael Jackson's memorial, his brother Marlon said he had been thinking of his favorite memories of the times they spent together and one of his favorites was when they would come home from school and watch The Three Stooges before they had to go to the recording studio.

I'm younger than he is and I get it. I think it has more to do with the fact that he's Canadian.
I grew up in Toronto, in the late 60's and early 70's, and the Stooges were on TV ALL the time. I never found them particularly funny either. I guess I'm saying "you may be correct, Sir"!!:embarrest:

Stooges are timeless comedy gold. If you don't like them, my guess is you have no soul...or you're a broad.

My favorite Stooges moment is when the Lion is loose on the train. The black conductor sees it and turns white. I laughed my nads off when I first saw it, like 30 years ago, and smiled ear to ear when I thought of it just now.

Michael wrote the foreword to the only Curly Howard biography in existence. It was published in 1985 or so and written by Moe's daughter. Kinda scattershot writing- not much of substance that Howard hasn't covered a dozen times.

I love the Stooges, used to watch them all of the time when I was younger and still do occasionally now. Curly and his antics crack me up every time.

For those calling the Stooges unfunny, you should have your laughing privileges revoked as you aren't using them correctly.

i wasted countless hours watching the three stooges, they were on every afternoon after school. i watched the same shows as howard with officer joe bolton.
another note, i read in the paper this week end that curley did the moon walk in those movies and that michael jackson was a big fan. i do recall curley walking backwards many time.
