View Full Version : 6 Fights - $30 Million - Title Shot / Fedor turns it down
Kracka-Mike 07-29-2009, 10:03 PM What the fuck is he smoking?
Here are some of the specifics of the contract that was extended and denied by Fedor Emelianenko and his management:
* A six-fight, $30 million deal
* An immediate title shot against Brock Lesnar
* M-1 Global would receive a cut of PPV revenue on top of Emelianenko’s contracted purse
* Fedor would be able to wear as much M1 gear as he wanted
* Fedor would be allowed to fight in combat sambo
This is what M-1 turned down? This is what they deemed to be an insufficient offer?
I cannot imagine a valid reason for turning down this contract. It seems as though Zuffa relented on everything except the co-promotional aspect that M-1 is demanded, and M-1 won’t meet them anywhere close to halfway in the middle.

jackie the jerk 07-29-2009, 10:21 PM Maybe he is afraid to go where the real competition is.

loll.serious?? ya,,the heavyweight division is soo stacked full of studs in the ufc.
not
(i kinda understand ,if M1 insists on wanting the chance at having Fedor fight a non-Ufc fighter that comes along as a true beast in MMA.)
:mm:
Kracka-Mike 07-29-2009, 10:32 PM M1 has ties to Russian mafia (if the rumors are true).
kerowack 07-29-2009, 10:36 PM Again, if that's all true, then I never want to hear that fuckers name again. I don't care if he's the best in the world (who knows?) and I don't care if he fights outside of the UFC. Until he comes to the only federation in the world that matters, he can shut the fuck up and keep fighting has been, scrubs and wgas fighters. Not that the UFC Heavyweight division is stacked, but it's the best there is of all of them. Couture and Lesnar are two fights people are dying to see involving Fedor.
Fuck him. Can't say that enough. Wish everybody would just shut the fuck up about him after this...
NiceFace 07-29-2009, 10:40 PM Randy C. knows not to come out of retirement just to get embaressed by Fedor.
and okay, after the inital fight vs. Brock..then what..i just cant get too hyped up over any other fight they put him in.
I bet theyll end up signing him for a 1-2 yr deal at first
kerowack 07-29-2009, 10:45 PM Randy is already out of retirement and he'll fight Fedor (it's all he talked about last year). I'm not saying the division is stacked, but if Fedor is worth anything to the sport in 2009, he has to fight in the UFC.
Nobody seems to get that MMA outside the UFC=WGAS. Americans don't watch football if it doesn't say NFL and nobody gives a shit about MMA if it isn't stamped "UFC".
nice face is one of those dorks who thought pride was the best of the best and then felt stupid when they all came to the ufc and got thier ass kicked
Mynd4life 07-29-2009, 11:44 PM Fedor IS the best in the World and he should WANT to fight in the UFC no matter what to cement his legacy as the possible BEST EVER but it sounds like he is pussing out, NO ONE will ever get a deal like that. Thats about the best offer a guy can get. He comes off looking like a pussy, like he is trying to avoid the UFC Fights at all costs.

This is a stupid argument. You shouldn't open your mouth about something if you know nothing about it. Last time I checked, Rampage, Noguiera, and Anderson Silva were all "Pride guys". 3 belts in 3 different weight divisions is pretty good. And Dan Henderson came pretty close to making it 4 belts. By the way, most of those pride guys are past their prime now, ex: Wanderlei Silva, Nog, etc. If you consider the top guys from UFC at the time pride existed, they are also past their prime: Chuck Liddel, Randy, Tito, etc. So sadly, most of these fights never happened when they should have. So Fedor has a message for you:

thapie 07-30-2009, 08:28 AM i could see a lesnar fight then a rematch but six fights , doesn't seem like there are enough good heavyweights to make it a challenge . i hope he does take a ufc deal it would really be interesting to see the best two heavyweights meet up.
K_Vick 07-30-2009, 09:02 AM He wants to keep fighting washed up fighters that used to be in the UFC. His people are afraid of him taking a fight with a legitimate contender.
Turd_Cutter 07-30-2009, 10:07 AM As long as Vadim Finkelchtein is representing Fedor, the deal with never happen. It's as simple as that.
Blade_Jones 08-01-2009, 04:21 PM Maybe he is afraid to go where the real competition is.
He already destroyed Tim Sylvia and knocked Arlovski out cold. Randy Couture wouldn't be able beat him. Brock hasn't been training long enough to beat Fedor.
How much has Fedor earned thus far?
Fluck 08-01-2009, 10:49 PM What is the story with the sambo thing and Dana/UFC?

As much of a fan of Fedor as I am.
Brock would knock him into next year.
Saw Joe Rogan in SF last week and he says Brock is the Mike Tyson of MMA.
Unbeatable for years to come. :weird:
Just saying.

Turd_Cutter 08-01-2009, 11:19 PM What is the story with the sambo thing and Dana/UFC?
Dana said that Fedor would be able to still do his sambo competitions. To quote him, "he can do sambo every fucking Thursday if he wants to."

lol
"when they all came?" they kinda didnt have a choice, first of all.the company got bought out,and if any of them wanted paychecks, they had no other real choice than to accept the UFC contract offers to join .
(and ya,some of em didnt shine when they joined..but u cant argue that several years ago even, most of the best fighters ,especially in the heavier weight classes were in Pride.Dont tell me all those guys werent unbelievable years ago...Sure,theyre older now..and not as good.)
anyway
oneldef 08-02-2009, 03:05 AM This story is bullshit. So ignore the thread please.
wearly1977 08-02-2009, 10:56 AM Nothing bullshit about this thread....Fedor is scared of Lesner!!!
BubbaMark101 08-02-2009, 11:53 AM I'd be scared of Brock Lesnar if I was Fedor too. he knows he is a little past his prime, and that giant killing machine is just hitting his. if he wants to called the best fighter in the world, then the bitch needs to quit dodging the UFC. that was an amazing offer...no more excuses for his bitch ass.
I used to respect Fedor.

Yahoo has an article up talking about how Fedor's manager (who owns or has a big stake in that M1 promotion) refuses to do the deal unless he is giving a 50% partnership in the UFC. Fuck Fedor, let him rot in 3rd rate promotions if he chooses such scum as management.
Remo Williams 08-02-2009, 11:59 PM If Fedor's first fight is against Lesnar and he gets steamrolled Fedor's rep will crumble faster than Kimbo's.

'Nuff said.
It would be a Helluva a Fight.
But for Dana White & the Fertitta Bros. to give Fedor the amount of money that the UFC makes in ONE night...over 3 years seems Crazy on All fronts. :weird:

brutusosu 08-03-2009, 11:54 AM Im a huge Fedor fan but this recent fiasco with the UFC was just fucking downright aggrivating.... Its a shame, because he had the opportunity to fight in possibly one of the most celebrated bouts in MMA history.
He may be the best heavyweight out there, but he certainly isnt enhancing his career by signing with strikeforce, which imo sports a pathetic heavyweight roster.
Best of luck to Strikeforce...for some reason I have a strange feeling that you're going to be joining the long line of failed fighting orgainzations

Any chance we'll see Fedor Emelianenko in a UFC Octagon soon? His brother thinks we should.
Aleksander Emelianenko, the utterly frightening brother of heavily courted Fedor Emelianenko, told Sport.ru recently that he sides with Dana White on the issue of manager Vadim Finkelstein's difficult negotiation tactics.
"And all this talk about the restrictive conditions when signing the contract with the UFC comes only from Finkelstein, who wants to promote his own business through any Fedor-UFC contract," Aleksander told the site, which was picked up by Fighter's Only. "You can negotiate with the UFC. I know that their contracts are sufficiently flexible."
In fairness to Finkelstein, what Aleksander considers reasonable may differ from what the most sought-after MMA free agent in the world is able to demand. The brothers inhabit vastly different levels in the sport's hierarchy.
There were also rumblings that Finkelstein wanted a Russian stadium built and Red Devil fighters employed by whichever promotion Emelianenko sided with. It's worth noting that Affliction did not assign any construction crews out of the country and slotted only one Red Devil athlete -- Kirill Sidelnikov -- out of the 30-odd fights it promoted (or attempted to promote).
I am not a lawyer -- an unnecessary statement if there ever was one -- but I've had more than one of them tell me that open dialogue about private contract negotiations doesn't help any parties involved. Hopefully, the next thing we hear from either Finkelstein or White will be an announcement of a compromise and not a tweet from the conference room.
Turd_Cutter 08-03-2009, 01:15 PM Damn shame. Oh well, go beat up some cans and retire Fedor. You are NOT the best pound for pound fighter in the world. Maybe the best heavyweight but we will never know since you will be fighting Brett Rogers instead of Lesnar, Velasquez, or Carwin.
