Hahaha that's pretty funny. God damn it hurts being a Mets fan. You know the pain, Petey, it's the same as being a Rangers fan. ;)

If only they were real. Unfortunately they should be.

if they sign a good OF, Power 1B and a solid number 2 pitcher and everyone is healthy no reason why they should not make the playoffs next year

a new gm, new manager, a new owner, a number 2, 3 and 4 pitcher, a new bullpen, a new shortstop

If the Mets stayed healthy they would have competed with the Phillies. Their only problem was the bullpen and they fixed that. I don't know why you Yankee fans can't figure that idea out.

Who cares that they were in first place when Reyes first began to complain of leg pains in May....

Actually, here are the banners from my view ON THE FIELD on Saturday :)

How did they fix the bullpen? Krod was not that good this year his era was gross with 7 blown saves and a 1.3 whip. What the shit were you watching?

Rodriguez fell apart in the 2nd half, but the whole Mutts team gave up by then. When they were in the running for first place he was lights out. Putz got hurt too.

I don't want my closer to give up no matter what that's his job. Closers can only blame themselves at the end of the day. Stop making excuses for him. He had a poor year end of story. I'm sure he'll come back next year. Putz sucked before he was injured anyways.

Because they are obsessed with the Mets as most (if not all) of the Met's threads started by Yankee fans indicate. The like to deflect from the fact that even with the highest payroll in ALL OF PRO SPORTS for years they have SHIT to show for it. Sad actually.

So the Mets should contend for the NL East next year with the team they have now?

The team they had now was in first place when Reyes first got hurt.

But do not let facts get in your way!

Yup because Reyes win shares over a replacement player is around 22 wins.

I forgot that you do not follow baseball and do not realize that Reyes was not the only player on the Mets hurt. Next time do some research, or I can just keep teaching you :hw:

And the Yanks were what, 8 games back at the same time? So your point is?

lol, what do the Yankees have to do with this except to help you deflect?

Facts are this Mets team was in first before the injuries. So if they bring back the same team and stay healthy, they would not be awful.

My point was, saying the Mets were in first way back when Reyes got hurt means nothing as to where the Mets would have finished with or without Reyes.

Yeah, it means nothing:rolleyes:

Im not even talking about only Reyes. I am talking about EVERYBODY who got hurt. When the team was healthy early, they were in first place. Then as the injuries hit, the graph went straight down.

You and nuge really aren't that sharp, are ya? You are talking about last year's team. LAST YEAR. The same team that blew 26 saves. Guess what? They addressed that with the acquisition of Putz and Rodriguez and got rid of the horrid pen.

so if all it is injuries why do you want Manuel and Minaya gone. They should easily make the playoffs next year as is

I've never seen so many Yankees fans totally obessed with the Mets. Their team won 103 games this year and is about to start the playoffs, but they can't get the Mets out of their head for some reason. Seems like a bunch of guys that are uncomfortable with their real lives to they like to come in here and kick Mets fans when their down to feel better about themselves.

FWIW, Reyes, Beltran, Delgaldo & Putz were banged up for the better part of season. I think most team would have off years if the injury bug bites that bad.
