did anyone get any .mpegs of the wack pack thing? I'm all the way over here in phoenix, roasting my ass off because it's still 104 f***ing degrees!!!! and there isn't anything to do in this town after 1AM when it's finally cooled off and us night owls are ready to play. but i don't think now is the greatest time to visit new york. :( love, support, hugs and my condolences to new york and the rest of the world touched and affected by this tragedy...

I got a shocker for ya all. Sal's band, Facial, was actually really good. what a great surprise. I'm sure we'll go see them again. alot of fun. high pitch was a really a nice guy. I know he annoys the hell out of alot of people, but he was a nice sweet guy. I have to say, I had both of these 2 pegged all wrong. it was nice to meet both of them.

I had an awesome time in NYC! I felt more safe there than any place I have ever been! There were cops everywhere! They really do have the place secured, so don't be afraid to go to NYC and party it up!

CBGB's was so fun!! I really loved Sal's band! They really rocked and they were so up-beat and had a lot of energy. They were lots of fun! In fact, I am going to their website and ordering a cd right after I finish this post! (Unfortunately they didn't have any on them Friday night). Sal is such a neat guy! I can't wait for you all to see the pics!

We had a really swanky hotel room! I mean, when I walked into this hotel, I just felt so swank! The view from our room was so spectacular! And we could open the window, and sort of hang out and watch life going on in NYC! GREAT! We had a great dinner and this bar/restaurant in the Village, I forget what it was called, but I will find the book of matches we took and post it here later. Dinner was great and the atmosphere was cool. Mutt just kept on hitting homeruns with all the choices he was making for us in NY . . . the hotel, the restaurant, oh yeah, we stopped at this little sushi restaurant and had a little afternoon snack (this really tasty, unusual sushi roll) while walking around the city Saturday, once again, a homerun choice for Mutt! We found some really cool shops to browse around it and shop at! We had some great sex in the hotel room and Mutt was very seductive and sexy during our whole trip, just touching me and loving me and kissing me every second!

Mutt is a big movie buff, so we stopped at Planet Hollywood and he thought he died and went to heaven! He was really thrilled to see all the movie memoriabila there! We saw the axe that Jack Nicholson used in The Shining . . . "here's johnny!" We ran into the Naked Cowboy, hubba hubba girls! Nice bod! That was funny! Oh yeah, and we saw John Walsh from America's Most Wanted filming a promo for his next episode and making a plea for people to not stay away from NY, to come and spend money cause the plays and the restaurants are suffering and tons of people are losing their jobs.

We had a great dinner in Little Italy at this "godfather-type" restaurant that Joey took us to. And he also took us to the bar that he spent the night of the attack at in Tribecca called Sugar. It was only blocks away from Ground Zero. The people working there were so nice and friendly and it was another very swank place!

All in all, the trip was fantastic! We had to come home last night cause my little guy has an ice hockey game today that he is playing on The Philadelphis Flyers ice!! It is a real big deal and we didn't want to miss it, or we would have stayed another night! I can't wait to go back and shop at the farmers market in the villiage!

Can't wait for those pics!!!

The pictures turned out GREAT!!! The videos are also great! Mutt hasn't had time to upload them yet, we slept in this morning, we were exhausted! And now we have to run out to my son's hockey game (it starts at two and we got an hour drive to get there . . . = late) anyway, I think mutt is gonna take a second and upload one of the videos before we leave, so enjoy and there is more to come!!!

God damn, Eric is huge!!!

OK so that video sucks, but it's the smallest one I had. when I record, they are saved in MOV format. I need to convert them to mpegs. then then will be much smaller and load quick. some of these things are 12 megs! Once I fix em they'll be nice quick downloads.

Hey Mutt, if you need any help with encoding them movies, and you can get them into avi format, I can encode them with divx. That's probably the best compression you'd get.

thanks Philly but I don't know if most mebers could view divx videos. I need something that will play in window media player

Damn, New York looks cool as hell

It really was awesome. When we got to the hotel, I opened the window and sat on the ledge drinking a beer. we were on 3rd ave and e24th st. As I watch the traffic go by, I realized that I really should pack up and move. I've been to the city several times troughout college, but for the first time, I felt like i should stay. I know I said the same thing about Key West, but what can I say. The place was really cool and you'd never get bored. I fonly I could find a web job that pays me really well and throws in an apartment in the village. the lofts in soho looked so cool, but the village was happening.

the train ride was quick and painless. We'll definatly go back soon. HPE wanted to play cards friday night and wanted to hang out on Saturday and I feel bad that we were busy and didn't catch up with him. We'll have to come on back up and take the guy out for burgers and beers.

what should I use to convert mov files to something small and fast? maybe even streaming. the new camera I bought saves video directly to Mov format. I've been trying different programs, but I'm not thrilled with them.

Either use the mov plugin with tmpgenc, or convert mov2avi then use virtualdub, and divx codec to make it divx. Those are the only ways I know. Or you could just send the shit to me, and I'll do it.

Ok, I've been downloading software left and right. I've tried so many video editing crap and it's just not working out.

I finally think I have a good plan. I'm able to exprot the mov file to an avi. then convert the avi file to windows streaming media. I wasn't happy with how crappy the output was, but I'm fooling with the settings now. I'm sure I'll get some good video work done tonight.

sorry for the big delay on the video. the camera is new and I'm just having trouble with these damn quicktime files. I'll get it all straighten out and then I'll be ready for the next time

Here's a test. I converted one of the naked cowboy videos to see if it would work. it was smaller than the rest.

3 meg .mov file exported to an 80 meg .avi file
80 meg avi file converted to a 900k .wmv file

the final is about the same quality of the original. I know it doesn't seem like much but it will sure help on those 12 meg videos i have. this is one third the size and the video should be streaming.[hr]http://www.sternfannetwork.com/media/wpwtcb/NakedCowboy1.wmv

don't you know it. I loaded all the videos and all the new software onto the laptop so I could work from widgets and god dammit, quicktime isn't on it. I have all the editing software but no quicktime player/codec. :freak:b

I'm going to get it now, put it on floppies and load it up onto the laptop so I can at least get the videos produced. what a pain in the sphincter.

Philly. thanx fo rall the offers to take care of it, but I really would like to be able to do it myself. it's only a pain now, but once I get it figured out and set up, it shouldn't be any big deal. like when I wanted to capture Joey's Dale Ernhardt prank, it was a huge pain in the butt. once I got it set up, no I can capture anything and have it web ready in just a couple minutes.

Divx is definatly better, but I'm afraid most people won't be able to play em. would be cool to make them available in both formats, where the divx one is a higher quality. for now I'd just like to get them up in some format.
