Nice grab on the Cubs tix, I mean Sox tix ;) , I'm gonna try and get some for one of the series. You should get some tix for US Comiskular, that crowd was pathetic yesterday, support your team.

Oh yeah, it's early. :hw:

dude, i was there on opening day and i can't hit every game. i pretty much only go monday or tuesday games when it's half-price. you get in for 7 bucks and before security became so overbearing you could sit in the first row. can't beat that deal.

i'm not sure if you know this or not but a good way to score tickets is to call ticketmaster or hit the box office like a week before the cubs/sox games. all the people who tried to buy with credit cards and cancel become available. a couple of years back of scoreed tickets in the 9th row.

Two of my buds went opening day, said it was packed, I was surprised how empty it was yesterday. I usually go to a couple sox games every year because most of my friends are sox fans and because of those discount nights, good deals and its still professional baseball.

I'll try that ticketmaster thing, hopefully I can score some. Thanks bro, lata:hw:

even thought it was packed i was surprised it wasn't a sellout. i guess that 's pretty bad for opening day standards. i was more surprised yesterday, like you said when it's 70 degrees for the first time all year and you can't break 10k, you're gonna have issues this year at the box office.

It's easier to get tickets at Wrigley than at Comiskey. The only way I know of other than getting tickets from a broker is to buy a 9 game ticket package or more. No wonder they can never fill their seats all year long when they rape their fans for the bigger ticket games. Don't get me started about the price gouging they do for Yankee, Red Sox, Cubs games or for weekend games over weekday games. Stupid move for the marketing department when they can't fill the seats they already have IMO.

Shingo gave up 3 solo HR's in the top of the 9th. Fucking Guillen used up all his pitchers in the 7th and 8th and only had Viscaiano (sp) left who had to finish the game. That was a poorly managed game. Give up one HR, fine! Give up a second, pull the fucker out as fast as you can. Give up a third, the Manager should be fired for using all his pitchers too early and then only using them for 1 out when he had them in. First time I have had a problem with Guillen's direction. It was piss poor! Very disappointed today in him. It's only the third game of the season so hopefully he learned something today about that god damned idea of using a pitcher to get one out.

On a better note, Contreras was excellent today. I am glad he is on my team again this year!

Ha Ha Ha!!! This is why you don't post retarded threads like this. The game hasn't even finished and you start mouthing off. You set you self up to look like a total ass. Wait till the games over before you come on here and start writing stupid threads like this one. :D

Not to be a total buzz killer, but I would hold off on praising Contreras. He's got great stuff, but watching him for 2 years, I've benn fooled one too many times. He will have good games like this, but at times, you'll pull your hair out. I'm interested in watching Hernandez pitch tomorrow.

Well, he pretty much took up where he left off with his last game of the year in 2004 where he had a no-no going into the 7th inning. Not quite that good of a performance yesterday but definitely better than Garcia's on Wednesday. Everyone has been warning me about this guy but he has been pretty good wearing the Sox uniform.

I think the change of scenery is gonna help Contreras perform better. The NY media and fans really killed this guy. He never realized his potential because of all the tremendous pressure that was put on him. He was touted as an ace and became a bust. I don't know what the Chicago media is like, but the NY media was definitely the reason why he went from bad to just plain awful.

There have been MANY good players who were good in other markets who dropped off because of the NY media.

Mulholland, McDowell (remember the Yankee Flipper incident?), Rogers just to name three.

It can be a tough place to play!

Another no decision for Contreras today but a win for the White Sox.

I will take 2 out of 3 all year long! that comes out to 108 wins and the AL Central title. It's too good to be true and will probably never happen but a South Sider can hope!

Pods is gonna be resting for a couple of days. He had a minor injury. It isn't anything major but he will be missed in the lineup. His stealing really gets to pitchers when he is on the bag!
