Would be nice to see another subway series this year. The Yanks should be there in October but, The Mets ? I hope there on top in October. So far it dont look too good for the Mets this year however, I have seen the Mets turn things around in the past.
Come on subway series 2 ! :dw:

Any fans out there ? Howard use to be a Met fan, dont know if he still is? I know Gary is a big Met fan and Stuttering John is a Yankee fan.

Enjoy....

I don't think Howard's fans talk much sports. I tried to get some comments going after the Tyson fight ... but only got my ears boxed in. I tried some Indy Car racing but found nothing but NASCAR fans. 'Basyball been belly belly good to me' may work though. I will respond if it gets going. Seattle fan here (kinda thought you would be too listening to Kiss My W on 99.9)

Just joining this place as a long suffering MET fan and possibly one of the oldest Stern fans.Gonna be 68 and have been listening to Howard since he came to New York. One of the best things about the show is that they don't spend a lot of time talking about sports so they don't piss me off arguing about Mets vs yanks.Getting used to Artie even tho he's a yankee fan because he's basically a good natured schlub who's harmless.I still miss Jackie tho.

Well, um, I too would love to see another subway (world) series but as I said somewhere else, it doesn't look good ... not for the mets anyway. How do they fuck up against Kansas City???

Other than that, /////Lilly rules////

Go yanks.

And BTW, I hate when Howard talks about anything remotely related to sports

I used to be a Met fan when I was a little kid, back around the '86 championship. My favorite player was Keith Hernendez, he was the man. But then the stike back in '94 (i think), kind of turned me off on baseball.

Then, me and some friends were partying during one of the World Series games for Yanks vs. Padres a few years back... Well, the bases were loaded some time in the game, and Tino Martinez was coming up to bat. I said if Tino hits a grand slam right here, right now, I will be a Yankees fan for life. Sure enough, Tino comes up and blasts it out of the park.

They should ahve never let Tino leave!!!!!!!!

My grampa became a Cubs fan for similar reasons way back in the olden days of the 50's. I have never been to the old or new Comisky Park, but been to Wrigley many times.

I am a HUGE Yankees fan. I'm also a semi huge Artie fan. But when is Artie gonna get a new shirt. Does he wear that dirty old Yankees shirt EVERY DAY??????? Can't he take like $20 out of his gambling budget to buy at least ONE more shirt. That shirt must stink. Doesn't his girlfriend say anything about that nasty old Yankees shirt? At least Jackie would wear a different "stump the Joke Man" shirt every day. I can't confirm if he washed em though. :outta: :vomit:

Q: What do the Red Sox and lawn furniture have in common?

A: They both fold and end up in the cellar after Labor Day!

Q: What is the difference between a Fenway Frank and a Yankee Frank?

A: You can get a Yankee Frank in October!

Craig Mack RULES GO YANKEES

I am huge Mariner fan as well (as yoo might be able to tell by my name). It looks like 2001 all over again, but hopefully there will be a different result in October.

I'm a New York baseball fan. I watch both teams!

I guess I do lean and root for the Mets when they play the Yankees, maybe because I'm an old time National Leaguer.
Even more so when the DH came to play. That DH shit SUCKS! It kills so much freakin' strategy!
It was also easier when there was no inter-leauge play to root for both teams. And for a long time there was no sight of an N.Y. Subway Series!

Anyway, as a kid I always wanted to play like Willie (Say Hey!)Mays!
I was a big S.F. Giants fan! Until Mays joined the Mets and all the other greats from those early Giant years disappeared-McCovey, Cepeda, Marichal, etc.

If one of the New York teams is in the cellar I watch and root for the other better team. Fuck it! I'm not gonna' waste my freakin' time and energy watching a boring shit team.

The METS blow again this year! Thay had an abomination of a year last year and it seems like they're still bit in the ass this year.

The YANKEES are still in it but, blowing games against shit teams ain't gonna help 'em!
