View Full Version : Same Ol' Bull Shit
Rick999 10-06-2005, 08:03 PM Every single day: "I'm so ready to get out of here. I can't wait." Blah blah blah. We get the fucking point. If you really wanted to get fired you could but you stay because you want the money. Hire some comedy writers. How much you wanna bet that when he gets to Sirius it'll be just as boring as the show is now.

he has the right to complain...
you have the right to complain...
two complainers...
a very known comedy writer will be making an appearance...
the future will surprise you...
turkish 10-06-2005, 08:08 PM This thread belongs in the Hate Mail Forum, anyway.
Miller 10-06-2005, 08:11 PM I seldom find the show boring. I like the bantering between the cast more fun than his celebrity interviews but what the hell. Why listen if you don’t like it? Are you trying to be cool by bitching or are you an unhappy chick?
In before ban!
Also, go get ass raped by a backhoe.

No bet.
I think it will be the same show, with some cursing.
I've been listening to the show since the NBC days....the show is was and always will be Howard's commentary on Howard's life, and the things he observes. He flat out tells the audience constantly the whole FCC thing/move to Sirius is the biggest thing that ever happened to him, personally or career-wise. Why would you expect another topic to eclipse that at this point?
Personally, I can't wait for the move...I think we'll see a Howard Stern those of you who have only been around for the past 10 years or so never heard at all.
yankeessuck 10-07-2005, 06:29 AM yeah the show really sucked yesterday infact the whole week has been oretty bad

I've been listening for over 20 years as well. I hope you are correct.
BUT, the HS from 15 years ago would not be very ground breaking to many people today. The army of clones he spawned has watered down the format.
Isn't it sort of about time for some new young DJ/radio type to take things by storm, shake things up like Howard first did. I mean, on many levels, the current Howie has become very much like the people he made fun of 20 years ago. The guy is rapidly opening an age gap between himself and his core demographic group.
I hope he has really cooked up something, but I am not sure that he has. Your statement that his show has always been a chronicle of his own life indicates that the move to Sirius will be more of the same.
I've been listening for over 20 years............. that his show has always been a chronicle of his own life indicates that the move to Sirius will be more of the same.
I don't know about 'ground-breaking'...I mean, the man did break the mold in the first place...I don't really expect a second miracle. But I also think that if he doesn't impress himself, he may move away from air-shows. Afaik, he's always been somewhat of a work-a-holic, but he may busy himself with other projects 5 years from now.
New blood? He's bringing the new blood to the new channels...he's taking his 'clones' and hiring them. I would assume what he considers the best of the bunch...although he must know something about BTLS that I have no idea about. The only laughs I ever got from that show were from Ned.
I do think tho, that for however long he continues to broadcast, he will continue to burp into the mike, etc....the same stuff that hasn't changed very much since back in the day. The lack of restraint should present some interesting opportunities for some radical shit tho.
ChronoSkooma17 10-07-2005, 02:06 PM I doubt the Beth, Nobu and Knicks front row seats stories will stop. I understand that the show wont ever be as good as it was in the early 90's. Even if the Sirius show is pure funny, Howard still wont be likeable like he once was.
Here's my 2 cents on what i'd do to make the show better (without dumping beth and losing all of your money and moving into a basement and being anti-social)
I'd try to mend some broken bridges. Get into talking with Billy West again, throw a fraction of that 500 million towards his way, it's worth it. Start talking to Jackie again, he was one of the reasons why the show was so great. HERE IS A MUST, FIRE ARTIE. The show sounds like a stupid hacky morning zoo with him on the show. The show just sounds like it's trying to appeal to a bunch of stupid frat boys now. No more crank calls, leave all of those to Captain Janks. I swear, whenever I hear Howard say "Here's a new call that the boys made", I turn the radio off because I know I'll hear it a million times. Fire Richard Christy, he seems like a real good guy, but he doesn't work for the show IMO. STOP KISSING GUEST'S ASSES, where's the hard hitting questions from 10 years ago.
If you listen to tapes from 15 years ago, the show was tame compared to the show now. I hope Sirius makes the show better. As a CUSTOMER, I want the Jokeman and Billy back, but that's just my 2 cents.
I think Jackie will be back....I *hope* so anyway....I'd bet against Billy West tho.
