View Full Version : Stern On-Demand Comming Nov 18th
Sirius_Sam 10-16-2005, 07:35 PM Dunno if this was posted already, but the site is updated
http://www.indemand.com/HSOD/
It's saying many cable areas will be beginning November 18th and also starting price $9.99
Starting April 1, 2006 prices will climb to $13.99
If it's available for me next month, I'll check it out for a few months, but there is no way in hell Im paying almost $15 a month for that.
Within the next few years there are going to be all sorts of On/In-demand programming, so I dont know how they hell they are going to charge so much for different programming services and expect people to keep up and pay.
ChronoSkooma17 10-16-2005, 07:41 PM I love direct TV, no way in hell am I paying 12.95 for Sirius and 14 bucks for In Demand. I don't think this will be a success. Putting all of the behind the scenes antics and all the E! shows on there sounds like a good idea. But if Doug Goodstein is in charge of it, it's going to suck. I doubt Howard will ever mention the price. He shouldn't alienate all of the Direct TV people.
He's going to run in the studio every 2 minutes with a can of Pam trying to make for a better show. Fuck Doug Goodstein, he's going to kill the last 5 years of the show. Get ready for 10 strippers a week so Doug can be happy.
They wont film a Beetlejuice appearance, but they'll film a boring Scores opening. F that guy.
kalidontx 10-16-2005, 07:44 PM to me this is not much different then playing WoW or DAOC... you pay like $15 bucks a month for that. At times i paid for a UO account, a couple of DAOC accounts and a EQ account so what is another $15?.
JoeyBoots 10-16-2005, 07:45 PM I cant wait to subscribe and see what it has to offer. :hw:

Yeah, no shit... the show got so much better when that douche left... Remember just recently Howard was talking about puting JD's movie up there and some other obscure shit and Doug already said no and that he'd get around to it later? That fucking retard.
People should email howard over and over telling him how much doug ruins things. Howard doesn't seem to know because he admitted a bunch of times that he never even watches the E! Show. I bet if he did, he'd fire Doug.
Tom from T.O. 10-16-2005, 07:48 PM For $9.99 I am in...the crew will forget the cameras are there within a few days...this is what happens in these realty TV situations, and then we will see Howard tee off on Gary, oblivious to the cameras, or Howard shmoozing one of his guests, or Gary on the phone with a difficult booking, or Sal picking his nose and farting in Scott's face, it will be gold for the hard core fan.
ChronoSkooma17 10-16-2005, 07:49 PM I'd even give it a try if Howard didn't have Doug in charge. He needs to hire the person that was in charge of the old old old old E! show, back when they actually put the great show moments on TV, not the boring 2 parter stripper interview. Sean, if you're reading this, please go kick Doug's ass like you were going to do for editing out your plugs.
Tom from T.O. 10-16-2005, 07:51 PM I bet if he did, he'd fire Doug.
My biggest concern over the E! crew is the sound quality, it better be better than the shit they recorded for E!. They may have to hire Lorne Micheals intially to scare the shit out of everyone.

It is still going to be edited content, it is not going to be like a live webcam.

True, but this is Howard Stern, if Sal is caught picking his nose, like Larrry King used to do on the live feeds, Howard will want it aired...no one is more brutal towards himself and the crew than Howard....only proprietary info will get cut, for the rest, Gary is one dead meat beast.
ChronoSkooma17 10-16-2005, 07:57 PM And I doubt the TV show will be 2 hours long. And if it is, I doubt it'll be behind the scenes shit. It'll be Doug's ugly ass walking into the studio every second trying to get some dumb cunt naked.
Howard needs to know that EVERY radio show bring in naked chicks now. Back in the late 80's and early 90's it was innovative, now everyone does it. And unless you call the bitch ugly, it's not interesting
F-DOUG!
drjohn 10-16-2005, 07:57 PM what is the video on that site, you have to fill out all that info just to see it....anyone know what it is?
nevermind i just watchedit..it's a vid of jenna jameson giving some chic a massage
I would so rather have a video of funny show moments or anything other than stupid whores on camera
However i think it's gonna be the SAME SHIT that was on E! but with no blurring
I aint paying to see that.
mikeh77 10-16-2005, 08:08 PM Ive got Dish Network now and Charter is the cable company in my area (StL metro) and Im more than willing to switch but Im not sure if its going to be available through them...ive tried to get a straight answer out of them but havent got a commitment that they will carry it.
Any other people who have Charter in my area know if theyll be getting it? Ive had Dish for so long not to familiar with this On Demand shit.
Arties Dead Dad 10-16-2005, 08:20 PM I got RCN and I'm paying $25/month just for 24x7 porn (TEN).. IF RCN picks it up then i'll switch and still save myself $10/month
i cant wait to DL it on the newsgroups

Charter never gives a straight answer. They'll tell you they don't know or "we might be getting it soon" (I got that regarding the NFL package two years ago) when they know damn well what's going on. They also ripped me off this past spring getting me to auto bill promising a $10 discount but when I called back two months later after not getting it they told me "you only get it when you use mastercard, sir, you used a visa." So I didn't get the discount, got rid of their service and went to DishNet.
I wish I would have never gotten DishNet. They're liars, they will accuse you of being a liar and they switch to forien customer help after 10PM with such poor English that you really can't understand a word that they say.
I'll be going back to Charter, I'd rather be lied to than yelled, have crap added on to my bill and called a liar when I catch them doing it.
While I don't know if Charter will get Stern I really don't see any reason why they wouldn't. They seem to try everything before anyone else does and if they get enough people asking I'm sure they'll get it.

Too many acronyms. What the heck are you saying?

Other then that, another $15 would almost raise my cable bill to almost $150- a moth.
It's now $123- after I dropped Cinamax.

From what I read on a different forum these On-Demand shows will be shot in Hi-Def so we can now expect high quality shows.
Im going to have to junk a bunch of digital channels just to even out the price. It's saying that Sirius shows will be On-Demand as well so Id hate to miss any video footage.

High def, lol now the scores strippers will look even worse than before.
I won't be getting this, I have the money, but that doesn't mean I like throwing it away. I would rather put it towards my retirement or my kids education. I guess I will learn how to use the newsgroups and download ones that I want to see.
King Of All Chris's 10-16-2005, 08:52 PM High def, lol now the scores strippers will look even worse than before.
 Good point.
havoc 10-16-2005, 08:58 PM I wish I was a baller and could afford this shit. I aint even gots cable I gotsta download all my shit on the internets and watch it on me laptops.
ChronoSkooma17 10-16-2005, 09:38 PM I plan on getting a faster connection and a bigger harddrive, if you catch my drift. :gwave:
DARKNIGHT 10-16-2005, 10:00 PM I will likely subscribe for a bit but if its lame,im going to cancel.Im still hoping the satellite radio show will be available on the Dish Network.
The Brandon 10-16-2005, 10:05 PM For 10 bucks, maybe. But 14 bucks a month? Naw. I barely watched the E! show when it was free (unless it was great shit like boxing matches, wack pack appearances, or shit like that) because there was too much Mindless Bimbo Part 1 and 2 shit.
I remember once an ex girlfriend of mine was staying over for a week. She was my girlfriend then of course. Anyway at night sometimes after sex or whatever I would turn on Stern.
She would whine about him being sexist and there being nothing but mindless whores on his show and I would disagree and argue. "He really is funny! Just give him a chance!" and she would finally give in and stay. (It wasn't like I wasn't going to watch it because she was there, it's my TV, but she chose to stay in bed)
Every day that week was some random girl interview. Pamela Anderson "you are so hot," random strippers "you are sooo hot!" and more every night. It sucked that she was right due to E! booking nonstop girls that week. To me the ratio of semi-hot girls to entertaining comedy was just way fucked up.
The only time I think I was turned on by a chick on E! was when Alisha Klass did some strip tease and when they had Nikki Ziering (sp) in the tickle chair. The rest of the time I have been pretty bored with it.
On the other hand, when they show good shit, I am almost always entertained. Contention for Attention, any Steve-O appearance, Elliot Offen, High Pitch Erik and fish, BabaPalogy, COUNTLESS hours of great entertainment but it seemed for every hour of good TV, there was 3 hours of mindless girl interviews.
Maybe it's because I live in Florida and can go to the beach and see hot chicks any day of the week, or I can just turn on porn, but I just don't see the reason to tune in every day to see him interview some girl and beg her to get naked.
SirGaryColeman 10-16-2005, 10:12 PM I just don't see the reason to tune in every day to see him interview some girl and beg her to get naked.
One observation is like a week or two after E! left, the first "hot chicks" that came in got thoroughly trashed and ridiculed by howard and the crew for being too dopey. It was such a breath of fresh air and illustrated how much E! was starting to bring down the show.
And I've always said it... towards the end, the E! Show and the Radio show were 2 totally different shows. If you only watched E!, you had no clue what the true spirit of the show was.
Jakyll 10-16-2005, 10:16 PM since i doubt it will be available in canada, i don't feel bad about downloading it... but if it was available here in the great green north, I would subscribe
NY1983 10-16-2005, 10:24 PM It would all depend on the extras. How much and how good they are. I’m already getting Sirius, so if it’s like the E Show I’m not missing much.
JoeyBoots 10-16-2005, 10:37 PM Doug no longer works for E! and so is not under the obligation to produce what they wanted........it's a whole new game......I say give it a chance and see the changes. :hw:
HolyGhost 10-16-2005, 10:49 PM i hadnt thought about the E! show in a long time but
the poster's here are right
Every E! show lately was some skank taking off her clothes
No comedy
NO Classic Shows, like the Older E! shows
and Every episode now had that idiot Doug Goodstein
run in with a can of pam
you think we're actually gonna pay to see this?
I remember all the old classic shows and E!show lately now is just
playboy girl/stump the booey skanks/ pornstar/Jeff the Drunk
Boring
slitlobes 10-17-2005, 03:51 AM I have to admit 9.99 had such a nice ring to it,
13.99, still a good deal, but it has me worrying that the price may go up again in the future.
didkcripusoff 10-17-2005, 09:25 PM Im still hoping the satellite radio show will be available on the Dish Network.
I wouldn't count on it. Notice that the only channels that DishNet has are radio only? They know they'll make a killing off of Howard and they're not going to give it away for free.
