i recently purchased the starmate reciever to listen to howie both in the car and at the house. the only problem i had was that the antenna was only long enough for me to place the reciever in my den. in order to hear the broadcast throughout the house, all you have to do is tune radios in different parts of the house to whatever frequency that you tune to in the car. it allows you to pick up the show on all of the regular radios in the house. i hope this info was helpful to anyone who was having reciever location problems. LONG LIVE STERN!!

Thats what I do. Use one sat receiver in the house and in the car. I take it with me everywhere. I keep one antenna in the house and one in the car.

you can get an antenna extender. i think they are around $40 but yes it's easier to just have the unit somewhere in a central location in the house and tune in with a regular radio somewhere else. the only problem with this is you can't change channels.

[to clarify] You CAN change Sirius channels, I think he means you have to walk back to the room with the base unit to do it.

I've even used this while doing yardwork. I never would have guessed that the transmitter in my sirius radio is that powerful!

I put on the Swing channel and tuned my upstairs Landlady's radio to it ... she loved it until I forgot and switched it to Hard Attack ... I told her to get her own box!

I lose the signal in every window I have. I also get static if I get more than 30 feet from the receiver.

hm, my widows face east and west as well. I haven't gotten Sirius yet, but plan to for my apartment (no car). So, do you really have to face north??

this is what sirius told me.
In order to receive the best reception with a home docking station, we
recommend placing the antenna near a window. The antenna should be
opened to a 45 degree angle so that it will have a better chance to
receive the signal. To place your antenna at a 45 degree angle we would
recommend opening (or closing) your antenna half way. Placing a metal
object underneath of the antenna will help ground the antenna and will
also help to obtain a better signal as well. Since the antennas are
weatherproof, it is always best to place them outside or on your roof.
The clearer the view of the sky that your antenna has, the less likely
you are to experience signal loss. Placing your antenna on the roof or
outside may require the purchase of an antenna extension. Home antenna
extensions are available for purchase at a local retail store. This
50-foot extension is compatible with most of our radios. You can use the
Retailer Locator on our web site to find a SIRIUS retailer near you with
the following URL: http://www.sirius.com/GetSirius/FindAStore. bought I ordered a monster antenna from amazon.com so we will see

I just bought an FM transmitter that connects to my laptop via usb. I can then stream sirius on the internet and broadcast it to any radio in my house.
