"On Demand" is sort of the generic term for that type of instant-content service. In Demand is the name of the content provider that Howard signed up with, but there are a bunch of other companies that produce "on demand" programming too.
The company In Demand is co-owned by Comcast, Cox and Time Warner. I've got to believe that any one with one of those digital cable services will definitely have it available. It's not exclusive to those companies, but you'd think the parent companies would have to support their own creation.

You'll have to call. Only select cities/markets are going to have it first

Cable companies have "test" markets they use first before expanding nationwide.
Columbus, Ohio is a good example of a test market. Time Warner Columbus was one of the first markets in the U.S. to offer digital cable, video on demand, high speed cable internet etc.
According to Time Warner Columbus they will carry the Howard Stern channel but it might not be until December or January when they change their line-up.
Mdwlark610 10-31-2005, 05:44 AM All I need is my portable sirius starmate, I think the cable companies will start to do what all the different FM stations have done and start to edit the shows

I was hoping for it to be good from the go. But I'll take it.
MAGUSofHELLVIEW 10-31-2005, 12:41 PM i cant friggin wait.... even if he just has a couple hours of stuff up initially, its still going to be sweet as hell
im sure they wont put up every E! show, but just getting some of the good ones uncensored more than makes the monthly fee worth it... and if sirius is in true high def and for longer than a half hour (he claims 1-2 hours per show), then this will be the best thing ill own

tdsstern 10-31-2005, 01:54 PM I have DirectTV and don't know if it's worth getting basic digital cable from Time Warner just for InDemand. The reason I got DirectTV in the first place is because Time Warner was so expensive.

Cablevision offered me a substantial one year discount on their premium package since I was a satellite subscriber going back to cable. Maybe Time Warner would do the same for you.

What kind of On-Demand programs do you get..... Showtime?
Vegas only has HBO, Cinemax, Starz, NFL on-demand..w
A few months ago I believe, Cox in San Diego added Showtime, WWE and some Gay on-demand service.
