View Full Version : Howard 100 has ruined Sirius for me
Bart H 11-03-2005, 10:04 AM Ever since this freaking channel had come on, I don't use my Sirius radio for anything other than Howard 100! I've got over 100 other channels, but all I ever listen to is friggin' Howard 100!
Bastards!
On the other hand, it's great on the commute...........as soon as my old fashioned radio station takes a break, I hit the button and I'm at Howard 100 unit the old fashioned commercial is over.
copter 11-03-2005, 12:46 PM Yup I have the same problem. I got used to to some of the music channels. but I'll live. LOL.
Djarum 11-03-2005, 12:52 PM I've grow addicted to Left of Center lately, so I have missed a couple H100N live.
Sirius is just addictive in general.
Arties Dead Dad 11-04-2005, 12:53 PM I have a long commute (1 1/2hrs each way) so after I hear the whole news I switch between that and Raw Dog
Three Lunged Monkey 11-04-2005, 04:27 PM I don't even bother with Howard100 until after the Frank DeFago show ends. It's getting a bit old with the news repeated all day long. They oughta look into some other easy to produce bits like a half hour show of "best of" phony phone calls.I don't think that would require much production work.
The Butler 11-04-2005, 06:05 PM Sirius is just addictive in general.
I know what you mean. I've only had it for a week so it's still really new to me. I used to come home from work and turn on ESPN for some background noise. Now, it's come home and turn on Sirius. Several TV shows I watch were reruns this week so I just listened to Sirius.
Is this what it was like before there was television? Everyone gathered around the radio and being mesmerized by it.
Sirius_Sam22 11-04-2005, 08:27 PM Be fucking patient. Rome was not built in 1 day and Howards Contract is for January 2006 and not 5 months earlier.
It does suck hearing repeats and dead air, but smoke some weed and listen to Boombox, Reggae and BuzzSaw channel in the meantime.
LIFAN12 11-06-2005, 07:23 PM I am glad they repeat Howard 100 News while Howard is on in the morning, that way we can have something to listen to during the 21 minutes of commercials they force him to play each hour!!!
Howard 100 News is better than rejuvenation, r-i-i-i-i-i-i-ght?
SidekickChuck 11-07-2005, 01:38 AM I for one cant stand all the other programming on Sirius.
I dont connect with any of the music, talk or anything else they offer.
BUT I did purchase 2 Sirius radios and a lifetime membership SOLELY for Howard Stern.

Bastards! Hahaha...congrats, Bart H!!! Howard read your post and commented on it today...NICE!!!
JoeyBoots 11-07-2005, 03:06 PM HOWARD is not kidding when HE says HE will take people away from television......since the programming started on HOWARD STERN 100 I have watched easily 80% less television and instead listen to the news program loops and live programming.......like today I am riveted with the live calls on the hour......good stuff.....I can't wait for even more content. :hw:
slitlobes 11-07-2005, 03:20 PM That was a great news segment, George Flowers is awesome,
I cant wait to hear more at 5pm, who's calling in?
puddle duck 11-07-2005, 03:30 PM i friggin' hate sirius because it has so much to offer. i have a 90 minute commute each way to and from the office, so i listen to a lot of radio. in the mornings it's all howard until the commercials, then it's over to sirius for some early morning music. in the afternoons, i listen to howard 100 for the news, and then i hit my display button and scroll over to the rock stations, and keep flicking around between the different stations that i like to see what else is on at that time, all the while still listening to H100N.
this is a disclaimer: if i die in an auto accident, i blame my inattentiveness on Sirius Satellite Radio, and Howard 100 News in particular.

This is absolutely the case with me. I've had Sirius for two months and the only TV I've watched since then was the World Series and the episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Real Time with Bill Maher that I Tivo'd. I've cut my TV viewing by at least 90 percent.
Even after I've heard all of the Howard 100 programming for the day, I listen to the Sirius music channels or the other talk shows.
Sirius is the greatest thing since canned beer.:btu:
