View Full Version : Time-Warner Cable + Howard In Demand
gofyaself 11-15-2005, 01:31 AM I just got off the phone with my cable company (Time-Warner, Staten Island), and they said they have no idea when or if they'll be carrying it. So cable-Vision and Time-Warner aren't carrying it. Is this possible? Hopefully these customer service reps are just uninformed and don't know what they're talking about. Any one know anything about Time-Warner Staten Island carrying it or not? Thanks.
mrkrispy 11-15-2005, 01:37 AM funny you posted this, I was just browsing around the local TW site trying to figure out if I could get it in San Diego....
I will have to call them.
I signed up for the updates from InDemand but haven't gotten any updates. Too bad they don't have their sh!t together since it is supposed to premier this week.
Rick85735 11-15-2005, 01:38 AM I wonder if they carry it in Baltimore.
havoc 11-15-2005, 01:43 AM comcast gots this shit right? i mean i cant afford it now, but hopefully in a couple of months we can get our shit hooked up
SteelRat 11-15-2005, 01:52 AM In Demand is co-owned by Time-Warner, Comcast and Cox. I'd find it very weird if any of those systems didn't support their own subsidiary by carrying Howard's channel. The whole reason they created In Demand was to develop a stream of content that they could carry.
maxwelljump 11-15-2005, 04:16 AM yeah I tried to sign up through TWC here in queens. the lady said that somebody could sign me up but then proceeded to put me on hold for another 30 minutes. I'll try back once howard starts telling me to. . . . .
piercer411 11-15-2005, 04:26 AM I called my local TimeWarner cable (Albany, NY) and got a different answer. I posted it a couple days ago. Check out this older thread.

You are confusing two different entities. In Demand is a pay-per-view company that is controlled by the big 3. It is used for movies and events.
On Demand is a VOD (Video On Demand) service that requires a monthly billing cycle instead of a per episode billing.
Time Warner Columbus (OH) has stated they will carry Howard On Demand as part of their premium On Demand line-up but it may not be added to their line-up until the 1st quarter of '06.

....the company which produces Howard Stern On Demand.
rizzo 11-15-2005, 06:22 AM I have Time Warner Cable in Charlotte, NC. I got this from their sales department last week.
Thank you for writing. Howard Stern On Demand is a monthly subscription
Video On Demand package. It will be available starting 11/18 at a cost
of $9.95 per month if you order before March 31, 2006. Please call us at
704-943-2337 if you would like to order this package. With this package,
you will be able to enjoy unlimited access to more than 35 hours a month
of uncensored footage from your favorite Howard Stern E! shows and his
new Sirius Radio Shows when they become available in early 2006. The
selection of shows will be updated every week.
Long Duck 11-15-2005, 06:24 AM I called about it in houston and they had no idea what I am talking about. Said they would call me back but never did. I think its funny comcast has it on lickety-split..i mean aren't they ones that pretty muched forced howard off the e channel by threatening to drop E! over howard?
denn020 11-15-2005, 06:51 AM I was able to add the service with Adelphia in S FL. The salesman could not give me any info about it but he was able to add the VOD - Stern service to my account. So looks like I got it.
DonaldFromDetro 11-15-2005, 07:02 AM The Howard On Demand has been delayed until March.
Here's the link to The Detroit Free Press mention.
Anyone know anything more about the behind the scenes discussions that lead to this decision?
