Back in September it was announced that Bubba "The Love Sponge" Clem would be joining Howard Stern's new Sirius empire. Now Clem has revealed more details about his impending jump to satellite radio. Speaking to the St. Petersburg Times, he announced that he will start on "Howard 101" on January 9, doing afternoon drive.

"At the end of the day . . . Howard Stern chose me first," Clem told the Times. "Howard and I are on the ground level of the next big thing in radio. When [satellite radio] does blow up - we'll be the pioneers. And Howard was the only person who has given us an opportunity."

Clem said he had been negotiating a deal at Sirius originally when he was taken off the air early in 2004, but it was put on hold, likely due to their talks with Stern at the same time. He will operate from his home base in Tampa, FL, having built a $250,000 studio (complete with stripper's pole) nearby the city's airport, where he will also film his shows for DVD release.

Much like Stern, Clem is promising a return to form on satellite radio. "We're going to do the kind of radio we used to do," he told the Times, "I'm not going to go buck wild. But if I have a girl in there and say "Whip out your milk dispensers,' I can say that without worrying."

I'd rather drive home with Mojo Nixon...just sayin'

I'll give him a chance, but what I've heard of him so far I don't like. He reminds me of cabbie without the entertainment factor cabbie generates.

p.s. Mojo is the fuckin' worst most unfunniest comedian ever! http://www.SternFanNetwork.com/forum/images/smilies/Animations/yes-nod.gif

Amen.

I'll give him a chance, but from what I've heard, he'll be the first Howard related thing that sucks.

That's hilarious because I remember reading an interview with Howard in which he said that he took out the stripper pole in his studio because it's too tacky

Accually Bubba's show is pretty fucking good, living in Orlando I used to listen now and then to him out of tampa

(usually when eric the midget called in)

It's a totally different show then howards but still keeping in the same sense of humor, I thought it was a good fit and a good choice.

What was the alturnitive? Ron & Fez? Jesus....

Bubba is about as funny as banging your toe into furniture.

Does this mean Bubba will keep his over modulated microphone too? I can guarantee I won't be listening to that...

I heard the "getting to know Bubba" thing on Sirius and it seemed like I'd give him another listen. I'm sure his show could get pretty hardcore without the FCC invlolved.

I will listen for the Ned songs and calls. Sometimes Bubba pisses me off because he is allways saying stupid stuff that is wrong and keeps telling you it's right even when it was proved 1,000 times he was off.

He needs a stripper pole in the Tampa studio because Tampa has like 7,000 strip clubs.

I used to hate him because him and MJ were all you had to listen to if you go west from my house (I live just on the edge of what you can get from orlando). And clear channel syndicated him to a few markets and he was all in that i'm a clone that will take down the king mode. But I'll give him a chance now he might be a little more humble and have some respect for Howard.

The thing that scares me is the dvd releases of his show. I didn't see what cities airport he is near, st. pete or tampa, but hillsboro or pinellis county may charge him with filming indecency. There is a case in Polk County (next to Hillsboro) of a guy charged with 300+ indecency charges for a website with nudity and gory iraq pics sent in by troops. The website was based in amsterdam, but the admin. guy lived in Lakeland. They do silly shit like that down here. Look at the case bubba had for animal cruilty for the pig roast he had. They were trying to put him away for years for having a wild boar killed and bar-b-q ed by listeners like rednecks down here do everyday.

Bubba is about as funny as banging your toe into furniture. Usually when I bang my toe into furniture, I wince & cry for a while, then go apeshit mad, then laugh at myself. What are you saying?

I can tell you that if Bubba is on the same time as Breuer that I'll be listening to Breuer. His show is good stuff.

A while back, Bubba's slot was mentioned as being 2-6pm EST, but it could have changed.

Now that's funny! When did Howard take a liking to BTLS? I remember listening when Howard was taken off many stations, and he ran a spot that BTLS did about 9-11, and called him classless or something like that? When did the love begin?

I for one can't wait for the BTLS show. I live between Orlando and Tampa and had to keep switching back and forth between Howard and BTLS. BTLS does a lot of good for Tampa too.

Give him a week.....most of you will be hooked, some won't be. Buy some of his CD's and you will see what you will be getting.

He has bits that are just hilarious....Blackman, Fah-Q, Ned.

No matter what, I'm sure Howard would at least want us to give him an honest chance. I may be a little biased because I was born and raised in the Tampa area and have listened to BTLS for approximately 17 years.

i dunno.. from what i've heard of his show he sounds like everything that howard has not only rebelled against over the years, but outright tore apart! i’m still a bit surprised to see howard endorse this guy… i guess i'll give it a shot, but im not really feelin the BTLS show.

I guess I'll just go ahead and say it, but Ned's phoney phone calls are better then anything stern has ever played.

I normally hate phone pranks, but Ned's can't be touched. I heard them playing them on Howard 100 already.

I think the Ned calls are what sold Bubba to Howard. He fell in love with the prank calls and was willing to put up with the other stuff.

From what I've heard of Ned's calls I might actually agree. But I thought Ned hasn't signed on yet? And from what I can tell Bubba needs Ned to make that show listenable/appealing to us Stern fans.
