I listened to this last night and played it for Widget. You did a great job. I deceided last night that I should tag this thread to the homepage, and Howard played it before I got home to take care of it.
Thanks for the great plug Dan. Hard to get excited about a plug today, but thanks. Widget is taking care of the kids and she'll be here as soon as she can. then we'll be heading your way. See you later today.

PHILLYKING11 09-11-2002, 10:41 AM I tried to dl the song after the show ended and was not able to. The site must have been flooded with people looking for a copy because I am still unable to dl the song from Dan's site. If anyone can forward me a copy I would be much appreciative.

I got a phone call from someone who told me a Port Authority cop had heard the song this morning and he was so motivated by it he wanted to hear it again....... they played it for him.
Looks like Dan has found his way to rotation on the biggest and most important progressive rock station in the world....how long before Lars takes everyone to court on this one? :hw:

. . . exactly what I was wondering this morning.
One word . . . Napster.

You saw the public hatred for him with his Napster stance...can you imagine the scourn for him if he were to bitch about this?
JoeyBoots 09-11-2002, 11:35 PM A heads up Dan...... the song is now linked off of HOWARD's flagship station, K-ROCK's website (http://www.krockradio.com/remember91101/).

It makes me happy to hear that a majority of the people who have heard this mix are enjoying it. As far as contacting the show, its pretty strange...I had given a high quality copy of the song on CD to a member of the staff over the weekend, but he was in a very drunken state at the time, and tucked it away when he got home without ever hearing it. On Tuesday afternoon, I received a call from KC, who told me that Howard had found the song on my website, loved it, and wanted to play it on the anniversary of the tragedy. I let him know that one of his colleagues had a copy on CD, and that it was better sound quality. When Howard played the mix for the 1st time on the air, he actually said that he found it on my website (and I believe that the clip that they'e using is the lower fidelity web version). I guess it was fate, because even though I thought I had done the right thing as far as submitting it to the show, as it turns out it reached Howard because he was surfing the web and just stumbled across it!
Its a real thrill to get airplay, but I truly wish that there was no reason for that song in the first place.
Dan
Craig Mack 09-12-2002, 06:54 AM Great to hear the success story Dan! You put together some good shit over there on your site, the attention is definiely deserving...
And one more thing,
F Lars!!!! I love Metallica, but Lars is such a prick!
suddz 09-14-2002, 07:28 AM Nice! Do something to Seek and Destroy by Metallica next.
Jake7NC 09-14-2002, 03:59 PM This just in:
Lars says, "Fuck America, I am from Sweden. I hate America, except for its money and its lawyers. Sweden Rocks! Now I am organising my army of Jew lawyers to track down the evil downloaders of this unauthorized copy of my song --- yes my song, I did it all --- wrote it, played all of the instruments -- and I want all the money...Cliff dont need it anyway. Neither do the big alcholic James or that weird gothic dude Kirk. Ahhhhh, I FEEL LIKE I AM 5 FEET TALL!!!!!!
here's another saved thread :)
