Anyone know why during "Stump the Booey" they can't/don't play the songs? I can guess they don't have the rights but what is preventing that? Thanks.

I always wondered that also. That sounds like the reason why

E! never payed for song clearances, and therefore HSOD doesn't have them either. It's a lot more expensive royalty-wise to play a song on TV than it is radio.

You'll notice that whenever they showed strippers dancing, the song in the background was always Montell Jordan's "This Is How They Do It" for years, even though it was different songs on the radio. Guess the got a deal on that song. :) And also, band performances were almost never on E!

I don't know whether it will be any different for future Sirius shows on HSOD. I wonder if the royalties work any differently since it's a different medium and not really a cable channel.
