View Full Version : So is bubba the only radio guy howard signed? DDV 01-01-2006, 11:54 PM or do u think in the next few days will hear about other guys howard signed? Magnum PI 01-02-2006, 12:11 AM I think we'll hear about other signings because he needs to fill up 2 channels and he's gonna need proven talent to do so. ChronoSkooma17 01-02-2006, 12:11 AM I hope Howard drops Bubba and has Kidd Chris come aboard :btu: Atom12 01-02-2006, 12:13 AM I would like to see Cabbie get his own show when he gets out myself. Was always sorry I couldn't here his show here in Mass. Long Duck 01-02-2006, 12:20 AM I'd like to see an overnight "art bell-like" show by riley. It would be funny as fuck. ChronoSkooma17 01-02-2006, 12:20 AM ANYTHING is better than H100 News repeats. King Of All Blacks should get his show back, it was funny as hell. http://www.SternFanNetwork.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif Morning Wood 01-02-2006, 12:21 AM i hope he drops bubba and signs adam on. thund3rl1p5 01-02-2006, 12:21 AM i heard a rumor from a friend that he is getting The Doghouse, a tro from the bay area, CA. I dont know if tis is true because they were on 106.9 FREE FM out here. bleck! TIJUANA1 01-02-2006, 12:25 AM Bubba isnt that bad. BUT I HOPE KIDD CHRISS GETS ON SOON! sonicdescent 01-02-2006, 12:30 AM I hope so, because everything I have heard from Bubba (which is limited to h100) is pretty much everything I hate about shock-radio. DDV 01-02-2006, 12:33 AM i remember in a article in a magazine about a month ago howard said one of the channels was gonna be of all radio personalities like khe good guys, its just odd he hasnt mentioend anyone lese yet and there hasnt even been one rumor or leak about anyone.. gmocrick 01-02-2006, 12:43 AM i remember in a article in a magazine about a month ago howard said one of the channels was gonna be of all radio personalities like khe good guys, its just odd he hasnt mentioend anyone lese yet and there hasnt even been one rumor or leak about anyone.. This is a really good point. It brings me to another quetion. WHen Howard first announced his deal with Sirius he mentioned that he was going to be programming 5 channels, not 2. 5. Maybe this is down the line, here's my concern, as a West Coaster about the situation. I have a funny feeling that really Howard will only be programming 1 channel and channel 101 will end up being 3 hour delay 24 hours a day. Hopefully I'm wrong. Bottom line here is I think this is all going to be a work in progress and it's going to be a lot of trial and error. However, Sirius and Howard are missing one massive element here. A vast number of Howard fans (and HOward fans with $$) listen to him in their offices. Sirius and HOward need to get their shit together, and fast, regarding getting him on the net. It is impossible for about 75% of people attempting to listen to Sirius, in their offices, to achieve a signal. There is no reasonable excuse for Sirius to not stream Howard's show. Sirius can already attribute about 1.5 million new subscribers directly to HOward's arrival. I'd guess that about 20% of those subsciribers had designs on listening to him online. He even mentioned that it would be possible when he announced the deal. Anyway, personally I was shocked when I signed up for Sirius to find out I wouldn't be able to stream his show. THis is a major issue he and Sirius are going to need to tackle. After that, then he should worry about all the other programming KazzNCali 01-02-2006, 12:47 AM Howard should give shifts to all the Krock jocks who got dumped when the format change went into effect. Then they could all let loose on Infinity. Snatchola 01-02-2006, 12:47 AM How about Heide Cortez SteelRat 01-02-2006, 01:20 AM This is a really good point. It brings me to another quetion. WHen Howard first announced his deal with Sirius he mentioned that he was going to be programming 5 channels, not 2. 5. Whoa, don't know if you've been hitting the pipe or what, but it's always been two or three channels. It was said even early on that two were definite and the third was possible. 101 may be mostly a delayed 100 at first, but Howard and Tim Sabean have made many comments about them being separate content. 100 is for the first run of Howard's show, the news, and all the spinoff shows of his universe. 101 is to be a lineup of jocks selected by Howard, but of course all we know about so far is Howard's PST feed and Bubba. Howard and Sabean have made comments about big deals they can't reveal yet, but I can't imagine why the time to let them out wasn't during Howard's media blitz. At this point, I wonder if they haven't secured the type of talent they were hoping to yet, and the channels will be added to over time. bababooey2uall 01-02-2006, 01:25 AM I think Howie assumed that he could somehow use his old tapes and one channel would be a Best Of channel. Now he is going to have to fill up two channels...48 hours a day of programming, so he'll probably have to hire some more people. He will certainly repeat some shows during the day to take up time, but he'll have to get lots more programming as well. KazzNCali 01-02-2006, 01:27 AM The streaming issue is a very good point. I too was under that impression and then found out quickly that it wasn't the case. It woould make it a lot easier than always having to hook up the Starmate. Especially when it's raining. I hate putting the antenna outside in bad weather. SteelRat 01-02-2006, 01:31 AM I think Howie assumed that he could somehow use his old tapes and one channel would be a Best Of channel. That's what the third would have been if there was one. The plans for the two channels I just mentioned have been in the last couple of months, long after he knew he wouldn't have the tapes. twonabomber 01-02-2006, 02:01 AM I hate putting the antenna outside in bad weather. my antenna was under a foot of snow for most of December... sonicdescent 01-02-2006, 02:04 AM While I wish we could get streaming audio of the Channel from sirius.com, the reasons for this not being the case seem..reasonable. What those reasons were I don't remember, but it made sense at the time. ne0shell 01-02-2006, 02:30 AM Whoa, don't know if you've been hitting the pipe or what, but it's always been two or three channels. It was said even early on that two were definite and the third was possible. I agree, I listen to nothing but old shows on plane rides and during the lull b4 siruis and the announcements were for 3 channels, then changed to 2 with no explaination that I heard anyway. cityrichard 01-02-2006, 02:08 PM Danny Bonaduce Razor 01-02-2006, 02:14 PM Wasn't there a rumor that Don and Mike were coming on board? NYGiants 01-02-2006, 02:15 PM I think we'll hear about other signings because he needs to fill up 2 channels and he's gonna need proven talent to do so. I hope he hires Adam Corolla after Infinity fires him. :p Mike Walker 01-02-2006, 02:48 PM Don Imus TIJUANA1 01-02-2006, 02:50 PM Fuck that...He should get the "Tripplets" from Los Angeles.... Just kidding... http://www.SternFanNetwork.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif kingofmars 01-02-2006, 03:16 PM I hope so, because everything I have heard from Bubba (which is limited to h100) is pretty much everything I hate about shock-radio. my thoughts exactly, I havent heard anything funny from him yet. greddy10 01-02-2006, 03:17 PM ANYTHING is better than H100 News repeats. King Of All Blacks should get his show back, it was funny as hell. http://www.SternFanNetwork.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif I agree 100% King of All Blacks was a great show... I always enjoy when he calls in or comes into Howard's Studio... DrFever 01-02-2006, 03:24 PM Being as how it seems H101 will be the 3 hour delay channel is there really room for more FULL shows? 6am - 10:30ish = Howard 10:30ish - 6pm = Post Show Discussion & Bubba 6pm = Howard 100 News 7pm = random shows (round table, shit-a-thon, etc) 10pm - Tissue Time Seeds in DooDoo 01-02-2006, 03:27 PM Kidd Chris has, like, 3 more years down in Philly. He'll come to Sirius when his contract is up, I'm sure. DrFever 01-02-2006, 03:29 PM Let us also not forget Cabbie will be out of prison in a few months. You know he's getting a show! Seeds in DooDoo 01-02-2006, 03:32 PM Let us also not forget Cabbie will be out of prison in a few months. You know he's getting a show! Of course Cabbie's getting his own show. But it'll be on OutQ. "I had gay sex."-Crazy Cabbie badshirt 01-02-2006, 03:36 PM I hope they get Phil Hendrie on one of the Stern channels. That guys show is great stuff and he's always been cool to Howard on the air. Seeds in DooDoo 01-02-2006, 03:42 PM I don't know how Phil Hendrie would do on satellite. He has the second best radio show out there (after Howard), and he's fantastic. But he relies on unsuspecting people to callin, not knowing it's a goof. If he's on one of Howard's stations, I don't think all those gullible people will fall for it. *mad_professor* 01-02-2006, 03:42 PM That's what the third would have been if there was one. The plans for the two channels I just mentioned have been in the last couple of months, long after he knew he wouldn't have the tapes. I seem to remember Howard saying the third channel may even be a pay channel but it would be comming sometime after he gets started as Sirius. Seeds in DooDoo 01-02-2006, 03:46 PM I hope Howard swallows his pride and offers Infinity some money for his tapes. Then he could make a Best Of pay channel. People would pay for it, and he would come out with a profit. QuacknOff 01-02-2006, 03:48 PM my thoughts exactly, I havent heard anything funny from him yet. Actually i thought some of Neds phone calls were really funny. Too bad he apparently isn't with them. That would be the only reason i would have to ever listen to Buba. . . The poster below the one quoted above, suggested bringing the KOABs show back. What i thought would be a funny premise would be have King on 100 and simultaniously have Angry on 101 and have to call in on each other and goof on the others programs, guests, whatever. Get Fred to put together a dueling banjoes, um, err, dueling blacks song parody with Daniel Caver in the background to introduce each program. I think they're great when they argue with each other, it's mainly when they get along that they suck. blue2noise 01-02-2006, 03:56 PM "Shower Time with Crazy Cabbie" vegas_booey 01-02-2006, 03:58 PM I don't know how Phil Hendrie would do on satellite. If he's on one of Howard's stations, I don't think all those gullible people will fall for it. I agree. Phil's show is only good when people who are listening don't understand that it is a joke, and call in to scream at "guests." CB *mad_professor* 01-02-2006, 04:12 PM I agree. Phil's show is only good when people who are listening don't understand that it is a joke, and call in to scream at "guests." CB He is already on XM. http://www.xmradio.com/programming/channel_page.jsp?ch=152 thund3rl1p5 01-02-2006, 10:58 PM just no doghouse... please no doghouse mrc12671 01-02-2006, 11:13 PM I was given the boom box as a xmas present and I'm returning to work tomorrow to see if I can get a signal. Given that I've always been able to listen to the whole show at work and on line streaming seems to be a no go for now, I'm gonna be mighty pissed if all I see tomorrow morning is "acquiring signal". mrkrispy 01-02-2006, 11:24 PM I vote for Phil Hendrie also, although some good points were made. If he is on XM though, no luck I guess kohr 01-02-2006, 11:27 PM So is bubba the only radio guy howard signed? Bubba was the only radio guy who'd suck Howard's cock. That's why Howard signed him. Wait and see, that'll be the revelation! http://www.SternFanNetwork.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif |
