I have the car kit, but with that on and near my house I can't get any FM reception inside the house. Does anyone have the home docking kit for the Sportster? Do I have place an antenna outside with that setup? And, finally, if I do that do you think I'll be able to listen on any FM receiver in my house? It's a two-story.

Thanks for any input!

I don't have the home docking kit, but I do have the Sportster Boombox which uses the same antennae. I did have to out it outside; reception was lousy at best trying to put by a window. Now that it's outside, I have perfect reception.

As a bonus, when the boombox and sportster is on, every radio tuned to the frequency the FM modulator is set to receives the signal. This morning I had every signal radio I own tuned to Raw Dog. It evens works with radios that have a dial, not just ones that you can direct input a frequency.

I have all three for the Sportster, boombox, home kit, & car kit. I tried placing my home kit antenna on the window sill of my home and got no signal. As a result I had to place the antenna outside to receive my signal. However, when I placed the boombox in the exact same location on the window sill, I received a clear signal. It seems weird because they have the same antenna, but to me you get better reception on the boombox than with the home kit.

I usually get two bars, but I have to move it every half hour or so.

I have two Sportster home dock kits. Antennas are outside (see my previous post about this).

The FM reception is great. Perhaps too great. I can be in my car 5 houses away and still pick up my Sportster in my house. I guess Sirius doesn't mind broadcasting your subscription to your neighbors for free.

I have the antenna outside my window on my roof. Once in a while I'll lose the signal but depending on where you live ( I live in NY state) it helps to have the antenna pointing to the west.

My sportster replay sends the Fm only about 10-12 feet in my house....it all depends on the construction and frequency

I have the Sportster home kit and I live in an apartment that faces Northeast. The bad thing is I have NO reception with the antenna near windows. I currently have it outside, sitting in my raingutter as a makeshift solution. The good thing is I'm getting perfect reception and the signal is strong enough that I can pick up Sirius on my stereo, Sony boombox and almost all of the other radios in the apt. The weather will be nice this week so I'll work on a better solution.
