I'm a Jim Breuer fan but after todays Bubba appearance on THE SHOW I gave him a chance and for the first show it was pretty good.

You have to figure it will only get better from here.

I'll listen again. It's his first show in 2 years....it's not bad but it'll take him a minute to get back into a groove. That said, if he wasn't affiliated with Howard I probably wouldn't have have stopped on it.

Despite the obvious redneck, Florida hillbilly, I'd-fuck-my-sister-if-my-dad-didn't-always-beat-me-to-it slant, the show wasn't a complete waste of time. I'll give it another shot. But I'm not going out of my way to listen to it, like I would with Howard.

I won't listen much, but I'll give him a chance. His "negotiating" with Ned was fucking awesome. His song parodies? Not so much. Based on what I heard, they'd be stupid to not get Ned on board. Plus, call my cynical, but I think this is just a bit. I think Ned has already been signed. They're just hyping Ned and the show by creating this "controversy".

Heard parts of it. I liked his voice, and intereaction with the other members of the show. Can't quite form an opinion yet, though, after only hearing one show (and not the whole show, at that.)

All I know, is that if Howard thinks Bubba is talented, I'm definitely going to give him a chance as often as I can.

It really wasn't bad at all. I don't think I will listen everyday but I do believe Bubba will have a lot of fans. The show has an appeal and I can see why Howard hired him.

I loved it when Bubba and that other guy took a few jabs at O&A. Howard is way too big to bother with those ants but maybe Bubba and his army of fans can teach those guys a lesson.

He surprised me and was good, especially for a guy who was off air for 2 years.

It is not that bad, however VERY juvenile. The song parodies aren't bad, but when they layer the vox (on some rap tune they did), it almost was hard to make out the words.

Ned sounds like a character voice; almost like Bubba altering his voice...

I can see why Howard hired him, but I don't know if he's really for me. In 10 minutes I heard too much Nascar and Wrestling references. And I agree, the Ned thing seems like a bit - is there even really a Ned?

Anyway I'll give it some time but probably won't be a regular listener.

I'm a CT kid. I used to switch to Bubba during those LONG FUCKING FM commercials back in the day. I gotta say, he was my second favorite for a while. I liked the show in general - it certainly had its moments - but I wish he'd quit asking everyone (callers, cast members, Hogan, etc.) if he is doing a good job. That was kind of cheesy... He shouldn't need so much adulation...

Great Show, his bits were really really funny, Macho Man Micheal Jackson an the porn star bits those were pretty funny.

I liked the show, but it sucked that H100 news and the superfan roundtable was on at the same time.

I have never listened to the show before so I dont know how much Sling Blade adds to the show, but if he is being a dick then move on without him because most of the people who will be tuning into the show have really never heard Ned and how he interacts with the show.


EDIT: On a side note, I liked how Ralph was on Bubbas show but it made me wonder.... How soon will it be until some of the attention whore Wack Packers start wanting to be on BTLS show?

It was a decent show, I think its tough to give a full impression just based off my first time hearing it. It took me a year to get into Stern (after he came to Portland, OR Spring of 98).

I dug the Hulkster cursing though. That was a bit of a novelty.

Bubba sounded fine. There are going to be kinks when its your first day back in 2+ years. Once he gets into a groove the show will be very good.

Howard is still king by a large margin, but it is nice to have Bubba. I can relate to him more because I am from the Midwest and have spent half my life in Florida. I am well educated, but he tends to bring the redneck out in me.

Luckily, there's plenty on the Howard 101/101 and the rest of Sirius to keep me entertained, so no issues.

I'm going to give him time to develop but I think Buba falls into that group of shock jocks that tries to hard and in turn does those things that are illegal. The other thing I can't stand is when he tries to use "big terms" but ends up using them all wrong.

"We're going to extrapolate on your calls today." -said to mean we'll take more calls not what it should mean; to discuss the calls in more detail.

That drives me absolutely nuts when people do that. But I do get it. I do understand his humor so I am going to try and hang in there and see if I can learn to like the guy. He seems like a really nice, really honest, really cool character. That alone goes a long way.

But in the end, if I don't stick with the Buba show it's not because I don't like Buba, he seems like a good person. It'll be because I just don't get his humor. Hey, some types of humor isn't for everyone :)

I feel like he's trying way too hard. Could be a great show if he would stop relying on the profanity and use his talent instead. Have a hard time listening to "fuck, shit, cock or cunt" every other word (and this comes from a 10 year Marine Corps Veteran).
Given some time to find his balance should do, but if the show continues as it is after say six month, you can count me out. There are another 120 + channels to listen to, and I find myself going to them more and more while BTLS is on.

bubbas first week was great!!!

He didn't really try to ease new listeners into the show. He just picked up from where he left off and if you're not familiar with the show it's difficult to get hooked.

I will never forget that morning when I turned on 93.3 and the fucking "Monster's of the Midday" in Orlando was on and Bubba wasn't. Living in Jacksonville, there isn't much going on around here and he was awesome to listen to and was pretty funny. When I heard Stern signed him on, that made my Sirius purchase from 18 months ago all the more worth it. Let him work out the kinks and get Ned back and you will love him. Enjoy as I know I will.

What a fucking bore todays show was. I turned Bub off because he had some jerkoff talking about racing for what seemed to be half an hour.

I would turn it off and listen to the NFL channel, check back and its still hick boy talking about how great someother hick is at making left hand turns.

If racing is that big part of his show I gotta turn him off. I am giving the dude two weeks, after that its back to Raw Dog and NFL.
