meowcat 01-11-2006, 10:37 AM that is so sad. strokes are awful.
JABS74 01-11-2006, 10:43 AM Sean seems way to young for that. Doesn't he have a wife and kids too. He is big and over-weight, but I still have to wonder if anything else he was doing contributed to having a stroke.
I'll pray for his recovery! Good luck Sean!
supertattoo 01-11-2006, 10:50 AM Was Beetle the one to call 911? I wonder if Howard will play it on the show? That's gotta be funny on some level.

Quadruple X 01-11-2006, 11:15 AM who needs David Lee Roth the paramedic when ya have SuperBeet!? I like that pic...
That's a damn shame about Sean.
Just think, next week, I'll be 36, the same age,and that is way to early to have any medical problems.
Are we talking a Crack Head Bob type stroke??
Shorty 01-11-2006, 11:16 AM wow. :( get well soon Sean.
Pendulus Frenulum 01-11-2006, 11:17 AM Are we talking a Crack Head Bob type stroke??
What I'm thinking as well. 36 yr olds usually don't have strokes.
whattakunt 01-11-2006, 11:18 AM Very shocking and sad news........then when you said he had a young son........... i faggedout and cried...................
NWSternGirl 01-11-2006, 11:18 AM Sean, Beetles manager is in the hospital he had a stroke the other day. From what I was told he isn't doing well. To make matters worse he doesnt have insurance.
We are going to do a benifit show for him in the upcoming future. Beetle found him and got help. I will let you know the date of the show and where as soon as i get the info and i will talk to Mutt about it on the phone today. OMFG, this is awful. Sean is so young. It's safe to say that we are ALL extremely proud of Beet for getting help! I hope that Lester, Sean's wife, and his son have lots of support to comfort them during this terrible time.
Bob, I'm glad to hear that a benefit show is quickly being planned. Sean has enabled Howard's fans to have Beet as an integral part of our Show experience. I will be very glad to contibute!
I'm sending good thoughts and wishes to Sean.
WeT DOG 01-11-2006, 11:18 AM Sean, Beetles manager is in the hospital he had a stroke the other day. From what I was told he isn't doing well. To make matters worse he doesnt have insurance.
We are going to do a benifit show for him in the upcoming future. Beetle found him and got help. I will let you know the date of the show and where as soon as i get the info and i will talk to Mutt about it on the phone today. Good man...
NWSternGirl 01-11-2006, 11:21 AM who needs David Lee Roth the paramedic when ya have SuperBeet!? Fuck yeah, Joey! SuperBeet is as bad as can, and he KNOWS he's the fucking best!
redneckfrommo 01-11-2006, 11:23 AM On a lighter note... anyone else remember that time that Beet and Sean were in upstate NY and Sean got a hooker to come to the hotel room for Beet. They called in and Howard was talking to all 3 while Beet is bangin' away. Then Sean admitted that he always put the condoms on for Beet and everyone started in with the gay jokes... that was some seriously funny shit. Hope he gets better.
Jeton 01-11-2006, 11:27 AM i wish Sean a speedy recovery, it's doubly sad to have to endure one while so young. I hope his recovery is complete. Beeteljuice deserves a medal...
ghoulardi 01-11-2006, 11:36 AM Was Beetle the one to call 911? I wonder if Howard will play it on the show? That's gotta be funny on some level.
I wonder if it went something like this...
http://arc.0daymeme.com/3J/strokejpg.3JUONBPIvYnZP5d0572RNs.full.jpg
Thats too bad soirry to hear it...
also.
looks lik Kevina can redo Foo Fighters (There Goes My Hero)
I sure hope Sean is going to be OK. He's way to young for a stroke. The man's got responsibilities, family, and Beetle. My thoughts are with them all.
whatever SFN can do, we're there.
as soon as a donation link is available & the benefit date is set, I'll send out a mas mail letting everyone know.
NickFoley 01-11-2006, 11:44 AM Bad news. My prayers are with Sean. Get better soon.

njmooseman 01-11-2006, 11:54 AM The man is a genius for finding Beetlejuice and bringing him to us.
To paraphrase the Mother Theresa guy, "God don't want me yet man, I got to many Beets to Find."

jason-nj 01-11-2006, 12:18 PM Serious question Rev.....was he on Vioxx? At my old job, a woman I worked with's husband had a stroke and he was around that age and he had been on Vioxx for about 2 years.

figures, Sean is finally allowed into the studio and he's in the hospital.
BAvoider 01-11-2006, 12:25 PM Howard just might have his next superstar here! If Sean ends up like Crackhead Bob and Dick Clark, can you imagine the amount of material he could provide for the show. He could be a regular and go out and do interviews and stuff. Howard might even give him his own show on Sirius... The Crackhead Sean Show!!
L0GiX 01-11-2006, 12:26 PM Sorry to hear about that.
My thoughts go out to Sean's family and Beet.
Rev let us know if there's someplace we can send funds to help.

Shnicholas 01-11-2006, 12:54 PM Sorry to hear about that.
Where will the benefit be held? In NYC I assume.
metrowestdude 01-11-2006, 12:59 PM Hope he goes the Tedy Bruschi route... He had a stroke and was back in action with with no negative consequences.
spanky63 01-11-2006, 01:02 PM Hope everything is ok
SkookS 01-11-2006, 01:07 PM Boy that blows. Hope he pulls through.
LISA C. 01-11-2006, 01:08 PM Jesus Christ! 36? You know, I don't know why but I've been hearing about a lot of people in their mid to late 30's / even 40 having strokes lately. I just lost a co-worker about 2 years ago (he was 37 and he had a stroke). A friend of my husband died around Thanksgiving (same thing - massive stroke). It's unreal! Too young to have these types of episodes. I feel badly for Sean and his family. I do hope that he recovers quickly. He takes care of the Beet, and we all appreciate him for that. Pass the word on (when you come up w/info. on a benefit, or where we can send our dontaions/well wishes).
:(
ihatecabbie 01-11-2006, 01:09 PM :(
Poopiebutt 01-11-2006, 01:13 PM Excesive to regular stimulant use increases your chances of a stroke, and many other blood related abnormalities.
NWSternGirl 01-11-2006, 01:14 PM Jesus Christ! :( A 47-yr-old woman very close to me suffered a mild stroke. The only thing we could figure is that it came on because she was using THE PILL. I don't understand how her ob/gyn allowed a woman THAT far over 35 to take that form of birth control. Stroke is a possibility that increases with age when on the pill. I was so pissed that neither of them knew that...wtf? Fortunately, she made a quick and complete recovery.
Please let ALL of your doctors know what meds/pills you take on a regular basis!
Big Ears 01-11-2006, 01:14 PM That sucks!!!!
Best wishes to Sean and his family....
Beetle = King of All Wack Packers!!
asylum 01-11-2006, 01:14 PM i love sean and beet hope it all works out and h 100 covers it or howard talks about it tomorrow
Big Ears 01-11-2006, 01:18 PM PS: If he doesn't pull through I'd be happy to step in as Beet's manager on one condition, I ain't wiping his ass.....
Anarchess 01-11-2006, 01:24 PM That is such a shame. Will keep Sean and family in my thoughts and hope for a full recovery. Beet depends on him so much as well. Let's all hope for the best outcome for Sean. The fact that Beet could get help may have saved Sean's life!
Prayers for ya, Sean and family. Get well soon.
Ravenhook 01-11-2006, 01:56 PM At that age, most stroke victims recover fully. My wife had a stroke at 45 and couldn't speak for a month (that part was good for me). Three months later she was back at work fully recovered.
loralovesartie 01-11-2006, 02:07 PM FYI my mom had a stroke a few years ago and I have to say she has really come far. It is a long road to recovery but it is possible to have a full recovery. Please make sure you let people know how they can help and I know I'll be glad to pitch in in one way or another.
NWSternGirl 01-11-2006, 02:07 PM My wife had a stroke at 45 and couldn't speak for a month (that part was good for me). :burst:  :jj:
Dick Tater 01-11-2006, 02:25 PM hope sean pulls through rev. he's young for heart failure...he wasn't doing drugs or some shit was he? bad times.
SpringsternFan 01-11-2006, 02:28 PM Have Howard 100 News check into it. Does Sean use drugs? That might account for why someone relatively young would stroke. Still I feel bad for him. :( Thanks for the update.
I'd just figured Howard had asked the wackpack to hold off the appearances and calls until the show got settled in and the bugs out.
Reverend Bob Levy 01-11-2006, 02:46 PM looks like the beniefit show will be fri feb 10th in the philly area..details to come real soon already on the benifit show is me shuli beetlejuice and more to be added
mgraczyk71 01-11-2006, 02:48 PM i dont know much about him (the manager) but i really hope all gets better with him. it would be really sad if something did happen
lilbuddy67 01-11-2006, 02:56 PM I wanna ask a question without starting a new thread.
The only other person I know that had a stroke in their mid-30's was using coke.
I am not assuming anything about Sean and hope he gets well, but--
Would that make a difference on your attitude about what happened?
(And it doesn't have to be him in particular).
Baron Magrundle 01-11-2006, 02:56 PM Philly is too far away for me... hope shawn is ok and Beet, too.... that really sucks, man
Reverend Bob Levy 01-11-2006, 02:57 PM Philly is too far away for me... hope shawn is ok and Beet, too.... that really sucks, man  there will be a paypal on his site his wife is working on if people wanna help out
hendrix5150 01-11-2006, 02:57 PM you know not to knock sean.. but I dont mean this in a bad way. But his anger issues of him in the past just flipping out over little things and threatening people with extreme anger and then seconds later totally calming down and being all chummy again.
Well stuff like that right there is a sign maybe he was acting like that because he had health problems and it was a warning sign of a possible stroke. He must have had high blood pressure and that's why he would lose it so quick over the smallest shit. Anytime anyone has mood swings like that, either it's drugs or they dont know they are not as healthy as they think.
I have seen these strokes hit people at a lower age in the past 10 years. Teddy Brusci of the Patriots had one last year, and he was what 33 YEARS OLD.
Now this would explain the reasons why Sean use to snap off on people over nothing. Hope the guy gets better man.. that sucks.
Spic15 01-11-2006, 02:59 PM :(
frickindeal 01-11-2006, 03:12 PM Best wishes to Sean and his family. I hope someone is picking up the slack taking care of Beet, cuz you know he can't do it himself.
And even if it was drugs, you have to understand that for many people, the health risks don't stop them from continuing to use.
Hope he makes a full recovery. :)
NWSternGirl 01-11-2006, 03:41 PM there will be a paypal on his site his wife is working on if people wanna help out

Mutt & Rev Bob, you guys should set up a paypal here, I'd send in some money to support Sean. I've emailed him a lot about beet stuff and he was always cool. I hope he gets well fast!
TISSUE TIME 01-11-2006, 03:58 PM Rev. Bob, Please pm me and give me mailing info to send some cash to help out..

Shamela 01-11-2006, 04:35 PM That sucks! how old is he? Give him our best and let us know the details of the benefit! :(
36 i think
Shit.
It's very young (tho not unheard of), and actually not surprising given Sean's hair trigger. Fuck. His BP must go thru the roof.
Thoughts and prayers to him, his family, and Beet and Beet's family. They all depend on Sean.
Thank goodness that when it really counted, Sean could depend on Beet.
Dr. Fong 01-11-2006, 04:36 PM Sorry to hear about this. Sean seemed like a guy with his problems, but a good guy all around. I hope he sticks around long enough for me to meet him one day.
AnfKid 01-11-2006, 04:38 PM a stroke so young is rare only if its naturally occurring due to a medical problem. if he is not prone to them the easiest way to exacerbate such an occurrence would be by an abuse of alcohol and drugs.
I wish him well.
obie74 01-11-2006, 04:40 PM Best of luck Shawn, wish you and your family well
AnfKid 01-11-2006, 04:47 PM who's taking care of beetle? i think he needs constant supervision. i heard from on the road trips with KC and what not he would wander. and going home to his mom i dunno how stable of an environment that is since i saw them on their appearance on the show
ribeye 01-11-2006, 05:00 PM Please keep us posted. What can we do from the West Coast?
Irish John 01-11-2006, 05:06 PM Get well soon Sean !!!! All my prayers to you and your family !!! Keep us posted Rev.

You're in the area.
Why don't you do it?
AnfKid 01-11-2006, 05:12 PM You're in the area.
Why don't you do it?
I don't kno why my genuine question sparked an attitude from you. I asked a legitimate question. Who am I to take care of Beetle. I dont know him. He's not a dog or a cat lost in Katrina. I'm not taking in a stray dog. He's a person and he dont know me.
piercer411 01-11-2006, 05:14 PM Damn, sad news. I hope the best for Sean, his family and Beet. I will keep my eye out for a way to help out (Philly is to far from me also).
MarksFriggin 01-11-2006, 05:15 PM Sean's a really great guy. I was bummed when I heard the news on Howard 100 tonight. I'll do what I can to help out his family and Beetle.
Memphis Lange 01-11-2006, 05:28 PM I will be praying for him. I hope the the big guy (Jesus for those he may not know) is watching over him and his family.
Hubcap626 01-11-2006, 05:29 PM wow sad news for him being so young. Man hope he gets better.
Shamela 01-11-2006, 05:44 PM I don't kno why my genuine question sparked an attitude from you. I asked a legitimate question. Who am I to take care of Beetle. I dont know him. He's not a dog or a cat lost in Katrina. I'm not taking in a stray dog. He's a person and he dont know me.
I don't know why you would take my taking your question to be genuine concern and suggesting that you see what you can do to help, since you have the advantage of not being 3000 miles away from the situation as giving you 'tude. :hw:
Unless, of course, you weren't genuinely concerned and just wanted attention -- which is what I gave you so you "win" anyway!
My heart is with him and his family.
AnfKid 01-11-2006, 05:49 PM I don't know why you would take my taking your question to be genuine concern and suggesting that you see what you can do to help, since you have the advantage of not being 3000 miles away from the situation as giving you 'tude. :hw:

I am not equipped to take care of Beetle and his special needs. Just because I live in the same geographic area as him does not in any way qualify me for such an undertaking. My concern was for Beetle. Sean's wife has a small child to deal with and the thought of Beetle wandering out of the house and getting hit by a car or getting lost is something that no one needs now.
I have an idea lady. Get your ass on a plane. It's only 6 little hours away. You could be in Jersey by the early morning. Then you will be able to prove who is seeking attention here and who really cares about Beetle. :hw:
Shamela 01-11-2006, 05:59 PM If I had the means and the temperament to aid in Beet's care, I'd be on the plane.
As it is, when Rev tells us what those of us who can't be at the benefit can do to help, I'll be there -- and consistent with Howard's private charity and contrary to your growing attention-whoriness, I won't be using this (or any other thread) to draw attention to myself for whatever I am able to do.
:hw:
Now, please stop using a thread about Beet and Sean and Sean's family to draw attention to yourself. It's very unbecoming.
Beths69partner 01-11-2006, 06:01 PM Good luck Sean
But who is going to change Beets diaper now? Better be ok or else Beet is fucked
JerseySternFan 01-11-2006, 06:07 PM You're in the area.
Why don't you do it?
shit, if need be I'll care for beet...I have extra space in my trunk :)

lady you are mentally ill. you are the one who wanted people to look at you by responding to my post in the way that you did. but please go on and on. it shows your desired need to get your crack fix of Howardesque attention.
If you want to bitch about anything bitch about people making retarded cracks. Then you can be the site's hero and get what you crave. :hw:
JerseySternFan 01-11-2006, 06:08 PM any word on his current status? what hospital is he at?
C.I.A-Hole 01-11-2006, 06:25 PM Holy Shit. I hope he doesn't have any serious problems.
Cara_75 01-11-2006, 06:30 PM That is terribly sad news. I know we're all thinking about Sean and Beet, and we're super frustrated at how helpless we are.
Not to be too Dr. Phil about this, but sometimes when really heavy shit goes down it's easy to lose track of what's really important and let out our anger out over inconsquental bullshit.
Now you two kids stop fighting or start a "stupid argument nobody cares about" thread, or I'm turning this whole website around and we're going straight home! :nono:
P.S. If anyone knows the name of the paypal account, or the website with the link, please post it. If I can't give my support in person, I'd like very much to help financially.
Keep your head up guys, I heard on H100 that sean is talking, and that's a VERY good sign. :hippy:
soulman313 01-11-2006, 06:54 PM Sad to hear, Ive dealt with Sean on some stuff and I wish him and all involved the best.
Senator Rick Santorum 01-11-2006, 07:15 PM I just logged in and saw this. Haven't even listened to today's show yet.
Terrible news.
I wish Sean the best & if someone sets up a PayPal account for donations let me know.
I ain't got much but I'll kick in what I can to try to help a little.
captpaul 01-11-2006, 07:26 PM Thanks Rev. The poor Beet. Let us know what we can do or if Howard and the gang can let us know if theres any thing we can do .As fans we should pray that Sean comes out of it ok and hope his Family is alright. :(
ikilledtimmy 01-11-2006, 07:29 PM here's hoping for a speedy recovery Sean.
TopKat 01-11-2006, 07:35 PM Very sorry to hear of this in someone so young :(

cincyfanatic 01-11-2006, 07:38 PM How horrible for Sean, his family, and Beet. :(
I'll keep them all in my thoughts.

What's with the SFN-chick hate, in general?
PLUS, I thought this thread was to help Sean and Beet!!
badshirt 01-11-2006, 07:43 PM Keep everybody posted on a benefit or anything we can do. I'd like to think people would help me out if I needed it and will do anything I can to help out Sean, his family and Beet.
elhipperino 01-11-2006, 08:09 PM just heard the news on h100...wow

T Rath 01-11-2006, 08:17 PM Sean and I had words one time but I sure don't wish this shit on him. I can't make the benefit but if you guys set up a paypal account, I'll donate.
Hope Sean has a full recovery!
pamayor 01-11-2006, 08:19 PM i'll be praying for him

mighty_beefcake 01-11-2006, 08:50 PM I'm 33 and tubby like Sean and happen to have an annual physical sceduled for tomorrow morning. I'll certainly be taking any recommendations on blood pressure and diet much more seriously now.
I hope that Sean is able to regain full mobility and cognitive capacity.

devogal 01-11-2006, 09:15 PM What a shame! Please keep us posted.
A thought: If you're having a benefit, you should also post some sort of address where we can send a few $$$ for those who are unable to attend.
God bless.
kashmir12 01-11-2006, 09:16 PM Is or was sean really a crackhead? Ive seen a few references to this.
Regardless I hope he gets better soon
Max Rockatansky 01-11-2006, 09:28 PM Sean you are in our prayers for a full and speedy recovery.
Doctor Al 01-11-2006, 09:41 PM Was it coke related?
devogal 01-11-2006, 10:17 PM A 47-yr-old woman very close to me suffered a mild stroke.
Oftentimes there's no rhyme or reason for these things. Many years ago, heard that a relative of my next door neighbor died of a heart attack. He was 16 years old.
Scarey.
Robbie Rotten 01-11-2006, 10:57 PM God Damn!! 36! That's scaring the shit out of me!! I'm only 34. Take care man. You and your family in my prayers.
havoc 01-11-2006, 11:00 PM im lookin on jolly dwarf and it say that shawns b day was Birthdate: March 7, 1971. i aint good at math but i think that make him 34. that only ten years older than me and that shit is definately scary to think it could happen like that any time. im definately gunna say some more prayers for sean and beat.
ToriDC 01-11-2006, 11:06 PM Sean seems way to young for that. Doesn't he have a wife and kids too. He is big and over-weight, but I still have to wonder if anything else he was doing contributed to having a stroke.
I'll pray for his recovery! Good luck Sean!
My brother in law (who was skinny like Howard) had a stroke at 36 from an undiagnosed blood disorder all the males in the family had. The rest of them had to take some blood thinning medication. For strokes it's not always necessarily body weight/out of shape as the cause for young strokes.
QUICK--lets all watch that bad Sharon Stone PSA on strokes where she doesn't even cross /uncross her legs!
I hope he's alright too!
Pussyholebeater 01-11-2006, 11:41 PM Wow that really sucks hope he is ok. Hey who is going to handle Beet while Sean is KO'd?
Robbie Rotten 01-11-2006, 11:51 PM im lookin on jolly dwarf and it say that shawns b day was Birthdate: March 7, 1971. i aint good at math but i think that make him 34. that only ten years older than me and that shit is definately scary to think it could happen like that any time. im definately gunna say some more prayers for sean and beat.
Crap!! He's almost six months and to the day older than me!! Geeezz! I'm really freaking out now. I've been having chest pains on and off since my mother died less than a year ago from Ovarian Cancer. Come to find out from an anonymous phone call the c-sucking doctor knew something was wrong and didn't really tell my mother about it. "Well Mrs. eh-eh-eh your in otherwise good health, you CA125's are a little high, but there's nothing on your scans so come back in two months and we'll see." Did this a couple of times then one morning my mother had turned jaundice. Her original cancer was back, or never left really, and it looked like a shotgun blast all over her torso. She was dead two weeks later. I've been stressing ever since whether to go thru the stress and money to sue the bastard. Listening to Stern and surfing SFN has help kept me going all this time.
Sorry for the above. Sean's stroke really just hit home for me tonight. Sean, God bless you and your family and Beetlejuice and his family. You're all in my prayers.
jhammell 01-12-2006, 12:15 AM yeah this really sucks, good luck and god bless to Sean and his extended family (including Beet). At least Sean is is a good area for medical care, between NY and Philly. Rev, the benefit is a great idea, but emergency care will be provided, I'm gussing he made his way to BCMH Virtua, a good care facility, or if very critical Cooper or Helene Fuld, both great trauma centers.
goulash 01-12-2006, 02:22 AM good luck brother
alsatian01 01-12-2006, 04:39 AM see what drugs do to you kids
bdhim 01-12-2006, 04:42 AM I hope he's alright . I think beetle is lost with out him.
deadbambi 01-12-2006, 05:26 AM My thoughts and prayers are with Sean, Beet & Sean's family...glad to hear he's talking - that is a really good sign. I'll keep looking for the info on how to contribute.
I don't mean to sound preachy - but I'm speaking from personal experience...Strokes and other serious health problems not formerly seen in people Sean's age seem to be more and more common - though we don't know what contributed to Sean's stroke - I hope this helps other people realize there is a price to pay when we don't take care of ourselves - and it's not always later in life.
All the transfats, high fructose corn syrup, and all the other fake shit the FDA allows companies to put into our food has been proven to contribute to the factors that put all of us at risk - so eating this really bad stuff - combined with not exercising, smoking, not drinking water, not sleeping enough, stressing out - can spell a disaster.
There are simple blood tests that can be done (but rarely are) that will give you and your doctor a clue as to your risk for cardiovascular disease - please ask your doctor to check your C-Reactive Protein and homocysteine levels, in addition to the regular tricylceride and cholesterol tests.
huntathon11 01-12-2006, 05:49 AM Good job doing a gig for Sean..No health ins..
Who is going to care for the nasty dwarf?
OJ's a Butcher 01-12-2006, 07:50 AM That sucks.
Hope he makes it through OK.
I feel for his wife. Beatle was enough to have around with a young child. Now that Seans sick and may have a long recovery, she's going to have it tough.
Cant believe I missed this here all day yesterday.
mrchappelow 01-12-2006, 08:12 AM I hope Beet takes good care of his "grandson" while seans in hospital
OJ's a Butcher 01-12-2006, 08:13 AM There is no reason too jump to the conclusion that its drug related.
see what drugs do to you kids
Also, lets not lump all drugs together.
I doubt smoking a little pot is going to stroke you out. If anything it may prevent them. Do you know any stoner that wasn't laid back.
What you have to watch out for are all the stimulants. They are not good for your circular vascular system.
All the fatty foods and fast food are probably a bigger problem. If you eat there even occasionally you are coating your arteries with fat, that will cause a problem, wether a blockage or stroke.
paulfm 01-12-2006, 08:37 AM Wow, a stoke at 36!!! He must have some serios blood pressure problems.
Shazdaman 01-12-2006, 08:56 AM Hey Im out in the Boston Area so I wont be able to make the show so lemme know what us far away fans can do.
Ill talk to you all later.
papa smurf 01-12-2006, 09:21 AM There are loads of fans up here in the burlington, Vt area.
You guys have played at the Higher ground ballroom before.
I bet a benefit show up here would sell out real quick...

Dude, what are you, a cardiologist? Enough with the big scientific words like "circular vascualr system". Man, I'm sure going to get my advice from you.
P.S. DLR sucks worse than anything I could imagine.
I just sent flowers to his hospital room from SFN

Beetlejuice's manager, 36 year old Sean Rooney, had a severe stroke on Sunday.
It's not looking good. Currently his heart is only operating at 15% and it is too weak for any more operations to be performed. The doctors give Sean a 50% chance of making it through
this stroke and a 0% chance if another one should occur. The hospital bills are rising at a tremendous rate and unfortunately Sean is left with no insurance. Sean has a wife and son to take care of not to mention Beetlejuice with his special needs. If you would like to donate, please do so below.

Come on now, not even $10.00 Thats 1 less pack of Newport and a forty of Colt 45, I think everyone can reach into there pocket for this one...Sean is a good guy and would be willing to provide his $$ and services for a cause such as his
Whatever the cause of this stroke is I just hope it will help others to some prevention on it happening to them. High Blood Pressure is the #1 cause of a stroke. I am 34 have high blood pressure and now I take medicine everyday for it. My doctor thinks it was TrimSpa and other diet pills I was taking. These diet pills are for shit. Stay away from them. The old-fashion way diet-excericse is the way to go. I don't know what caused Sean's but we need to know and maybe we can help a few people. Hang in there Sean.

dunnnie74 01-12-2006, 01:42 PM I had Hank come to philly for a Bachelor party 10 yrs ago Sean was awesome I Still tell those stories today Hope he gets better and something positive comes out of this
fr8lnr01 01-12-2006, 02:02 PM I hope Sean recovers rapidly. I think it would be great if Howard would address the importance of regular check-ups and maintaining your health. Hypertension is serious business. Anyone plagued with high blood pressure needs to be sure to see their physician regularly and do everything possible to reduce their blood pressure and cholesterol levels. I hope for the best for Sean and his family as well as anyone else that affected by such malities.
leather3 01-12-2006, 02:25 PM Holy Shit!! He's way too young for this to happen, I hope Sean recovers quickly. God Bless him and his family.
TOKER 01-12-2006, 02:30 PM Good Call-Rev
Hope Sean Gets Better
Monty Burns 01-12-2006, 03:03 PM That sucks. I have to imagine that he makes OK money with booking gigs for Beet- how can he NOT have health insurance!??!@$ That's the craziest thing I've ever heard!!!!!
Without a company picking up part of the tab health insurance for a family of three or more can run anywhere from $800-$2,000 a month depending on the amount of coverage, the health of people in question, etc. Add that on top of mortgage, car payments, food, water, electric, phone, etc. and its not suprising that so many self employed people choose to take their chances and forgo health insurance.
JohnnyC 01-12-2006, 03:58 PM I just went to Beet's website....Call me a pussy if you want, (I don't give a shit), but I had to wipe the tears from my eyes! C'mon Sean! Pull through buddy! The whole Stern nation is pullin for ya!!!!!!!
Cheri 01-12-2006, 04:03 PM Jesus. I'm sorry to hear this. It sounds like he has a serious condition to cause this - heart or high blood pressure? For a heart to be at 15% there's some serious pre-existing condition there. Sean, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.
davenjeip 01-12-2006, 04:39 PM That sucks.
I'm glad that Beetle is being taken care of.
I would like to hear the whole story on how Beetle found him, though.
sparky2000 01-12-2006, 05:33 PM good luck sean
glen619 01-12-2006, 05:50 PM 36 is not young for a stroke, if a person doesnt take care of themself. I hope he recovers fast...
Drill 01-12-2006, 06:45 PM Wow. Sean has a long road of recovery in front of him. Sounds like this stroke was significant enough to cause permanent damage. Only time will tell how much damage was done to his brain. We're behind you Sean.
Jellyfishlips 01-12-2006, 07:51 PM I don't know if this has already been mentioned elsewhere on the boards but a donation fun could be set up for Sean and family through PayPal. The link could be set up here and anyone wishing to make a donation of any size could do so. Just a thought, as some may donate through PayPal much quicker than they would write a check or m/o. Sorry if this has already been discussed on another thread.

stick stuck 01-12-2006, 08:09 PM Wishing Sean a speedy recovery.
Nothing is as precious as one's health with so many modern diseases exhibit few if any symptoms. Once diagnosed, the cause is from a lifetime of bad habits that are very difficult to undo. 25% of American adults have high blood pressure and in the past couple years the acceptable healthy blood pressure numbers were lowered. Likewise with cholesterol and diabetes affect all too many. It's the scourge if easy living. Let it be a wake up to all.
If Sean had high blood pressure, it is highly likely that he would have been uninsurable as an individual at any price. Most insurance companies cherry pick and reject anyone with afflicted by a modern condition. I lived with it and took medication until I could no longer get medical insurance. That was a wake up and I've been trying to clean up my act ever since. The advice is very easy: eat right and excercise. In practice, nothing more difficult for most people.

That's great!! Thanks! :)
OJ's a Butcher 01-12-2006, 09:39 PM Dude, what are you, a cardiologist? Enough with the big scientific words like "circular vascualr system". Man, I'm sure going to get my advice from you.
P.S. DLR sucks worse than anything I could imagine.
I said, lets not jump to the conclusion that it was drug related (as many people have suggested)
This is a tragedy however it happened.
No, of course I'm not a doctor, and not giving "medical advise" but you don't have to be a doctor to have some common sense.
People have to take care of themselves. Too many people are WAY over weight, smoke, eat fast food, etc. Those things are not good for your cardiovascular system (those blood carrying tubes, like pipe things in you. That better?)
I worked construction and now realize I ate fast food for breakfast and lunch (and sometimes dinner) almost everyday for years.
I didn't think I was eating bad, I tried to stay away from those "burger joints". I would go to a little deli and get a "homemade" bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese. For lunch I'd skip the hamburgers and get the chicken sandwitch, but its still all crap, Fried, breaded, mayo, ect.
Guess what my cholesterol was when I had it tested a few years ago, about 280.
I don't look overweight, get tons of exercise everyday, and have only a two inch bigger waist than when I was in HighSchool. But my blood must have been like sludge with all that fat in it.
My doctor wanted to put me on all these medicines, but I asked to let me try diet first.
I just changed my eating with simple things.
Having oatmeal or cereal for breakfast, using skim milk (no Half and Half in my coffee) eating a BIG salad for lunch many days, and then a normal dinner with smaller meat portions and more vegetables. Also cut out adding sugar (use a substitute) your body will make its own fat out of those calories in sugar soda etc.
It dropped to only 160-170
But I still worry about what those last 20 years have done.
Nathaniel Hale 01-12-2006, 10:11 PM So how did this go fromtalking of Sean and his condition to self help and aguements? Some of you guys really need to pay attention.
OJ's a Butcher 01-12-2006, 10:36 PM Just wanted to add. The donations at Beets site takes Credit cards.
Visa & Mastercard.
Just donated, thought I''d have to wait till I'd transfered funds into PayPay.
everyone should donate something, even if its only $10 or $25.
Just think of how many times Sean has brought BeetleJuice into the show over the years.
That story about Sal taking Beet on the plane and then the limo. Making him take a shower and the diapers and everything. Made me realize I wouldn't take on that task for anything.
OJ's a Butcher 01-12-2006, 10:36 PM WHOA, double post somehow. guess I'll erase the second.

countpetofi1 01-13-2006, 06:45 AM I think Beetlejuice will go crazy not having Sean watch him and wind up in the hole with Cabbie
sflocco 01-13-2006, 08:02 AM Hearing about what happened to Sean, really puts life into perspective. i'm the same age as Sean. you realize how quickly life can come grinding to a halt. makes the problems you have seem just a bit smaller. It's also such a shame and so tragic that the poor guy had this happen to him and he has no medical insurance. He's going to be thrown to the wolves, especially when it comes time for his rehab. My heart and prayers really go out to the poor guy.

timmiecat 01-13-2006, 10:36 AM Ive just sent Sean a get well email and I'm gonna make a donation on the beetlejuice site. I hope his recovery is uneventful.
Michelle said that the doctors discovered that he's probably had two mini strokes already in the past.
He has an heart value palpitation that gives him an irregular heart beat. It's been weakening his heart for years. They have him on cumedin which is a blood thinner. After this stroke his heart was working at 25%. Doctors said that a stroke like this should have only brought him down to 65%. This morning he was running at 15%. Hopefully he starts getting better real soon. They are only giving him a 50/50 chance at this point. If he has another stroke, they said his heart will not be able to recover. It sounds like there is a chance that he may not make it.
He's not strong enough for any treatment. They may relase him next week and he's going to have to relax and get some rest.
Love ya Sean and get strong.

cburnham 01-13-2006, 02:43 PM I just did a quick scan of a few pages in the thread, so I may have missed this, but is anyone that personally knows Sean and Beet helping out with the family while he's in the hospital? His wife is probably stressed to the limits right now. I imagine she can use all the help she can get (not just money).
shockfactor80 01-13-2006, 03:05 PM Yes they have people taking care of their son and Beet...More support never hurts though...One way to support Sean, Michelle and family is to email jollydwarf@webtv.net Michelle is gonna take them to Sean...Its tough times for them and sending them well wishes would be greatly appreciated
cburnham 01-13-2006, 03:30 PM I made sure to attach a message to the money I donated.
shockfactor80 01-13-2006, 08:23 PM Michelle wanted me to tell everyone that she is extremely thankful for all the support !!! She said the flowers she got are beautiful and that though its been very tough, that all the love and support they have gotten does help....and they do appreciate it.
