I bought the Ccrane Fm transmitter. Initially I was disapointed but with research found a way to turn up the gain. I am very happy with the walkman now.

I'm not sure that I understand why this is so great. If I understand correctly, you're saying that this will allow me to send Sirius content (being broadcast through the S50) to other radios?

If that's all it does, I don't see the point. I bought the adapter that allows me to play the S50 indoors and have it set up in an upstairs bedroom...all the radios throughout my house pick up the signal without any other adapters. Maybe I just live in a small house...

The reason to buy is so you can use a walkman instead of being stuck in one room where the sirius is.

Or I intend to broad cast it to my gym so I can workout and hear him.

I am not sure what adapter you bought, but everything j3ff said is correct. You can travel all through the house outside 75 100ft away. Got as far as 15ft before modification. If your allready happy with your choice thats fine this is just for the Ccrane transmitters.

I have the sirius sportster replay & the car kit came along with it & I got the boombox & I had it set-up in the bedroom....recently I got the home kit to add to my entertainment center in the living room....now I feel like I blew $50 on the home kit because I discovered that the FM transmiter is so powerful that it works on ALL the radios in my house & in my car when I'm parked in front of my house & comes in crystal clear.....the other day I heard Howard saying that his parents were getting extra recievers to hear the shoe in other rooms & all they need to do is tune their radios to the same frequency as their existing sirius radio....man it is so cool, I decided to keep the home kit just so I can tune the channels when I'm in the living room but I won't need to use the home kit when howard is on cuz I dont wanna miss a second of his show so I just tune in using the FM transmiter so when I go into any room in the house I hear howard....COOL COOL COOL.....I'm soooo happy that Stern finally got SIRIUS :D

I wasn't trying to imply that what was posted was incorrect or not a good idea...I was just asking how it will be different for MY situation...

My situation is that I have the S50 hooked up in my house in an upstairs bedroom and without any modifications I can pick it up on any radio in the house which if I understand correctly what you are saying allows me to listen to Sirius throughout the house (instead of a walkman).

Am I making sense and if so is this adapter not necessary for me?

it's for people who want to cover a larger distance, like a warehouse or something..

or radio pirates from brooklyn!

Cool thanks. I've had one these transmitters for a couple years now to use with my orginal AM FM radio in my 1969 Camaro and I've always had to put it right near the radio for a good signal in the car. Hopefully it works better now.

With the word of pirating radio in new york news, I think more people are going to be using stronger tranmitters for there own personall use,now that the technology is going to be exposed to regular people who are not tech dudes.

I've got a Sportster Replay as well. Like you said, it's got a very powerful transmitter that works all over the house and even outside.

Highly recommended.
