View Full Version : 02-09-06 Super Fan Roundtable Topic Ideas
What should we discuss this week on the round table people?
Remember eveyone on the table is a fan so we need questions that fans can answer. I'm not interviewing Howard or the staff.
Here's what I'm thinking about so far
The Friday Show
KC Armstrong vs Jessica Hahn & Lori
Is it time for a new Miss Howard Stern competition? Will Andrea be
able to hold onto her title?
How many hours a day do you listen to Stern? How many a week? Do you
listen more now that Howard's on Sirius?
Artie said the stern show is entertaining to both smart and stupid
people at the same time.
Howard on Artie's therapist
Feb 10th Benefit Show for Beetlejuice's manager Sean @ Emerald City in Philly
Dream Theater69 02-07-2006, 05:47 PM Discussion on some of the new original programming coming to Howard 100 like Miserable Men.
copter 02-07-2006, 05:47 PM Howards Ulogy of Artie was great!! Maybe yous can talk about that.
fahcue 02-07-2006, 05:49 PM What about Danny. Fans thought on how Mr. Train-wreck did, and would the want him to have a regular gig.
chickenhawk 02-07-2006, 05:49 PM How about finding out more about the people who post on SFN, nothing over the top, just little tid bits of the fans.
UBERMAN 02-07-2006, 05:50 PM Howard really left the door open for a return of Jackie the other day on the news.
He kind of left in in Tim Sabians hands. I would love to know if hes made contact with Jackie, and how is it going. Also, how would Artie react to Jokies return?
Jokiefan 02-07-2006, 05:50 PM More talk on whether the fans want repeats of the show rather than endless loops of the news. Mutt who is on this week?
kidnicotine 02-07-2006, 05:50 PM i would like to see a wack pack roast......
chickenhawk 02-07-2006, 05:51 PM put the news to work....:s&m:
Tommib 02-07-2006, 05:52 PM How bout the fact that Bubba is censored? Bubba just dumped lasker a second ago and is like "I got to build my DUMP back up." and he's always talking about guidelines.
rambleon95 02-07-2006, 05:54 PM not to beat a dead horse - weekend replays of howard....
joeponytail 02-07-2006, 05:58 PM When will Jessica mount the Sabian?? :hw:
loralovesartie 02-07-2006, 05:59 PM weekend schedule of howard 100 and 101...enough with the news replays
Is Artie getting married or what...tell me it isn't so
Beetle update
Bullitt 02-07-2006, 06:00 PM I dunno if it's been covered before, but how about discussing Sirius equipment. You could talk to people about what kind of Sirius radio they have, creative ways that their radios are hooked up, and how they have them set up at work to listen.
sean_stl 02-07-2006, 06:03 PM How about how people just assume they are in the wack pack because they call a lot--What should be the criteria to be a member? Hopefully it's just not to be an annoying caller, ie, double a, maryanne. I like my wack packers retarded, mentally ill, deformed, or some other defect not just annoying.
fabsabs 02-07-2006, 06:03 PM How has Robin changed since the move to satellite?
-I've noticed more cursing, more of a willingness to participate in sexual discussions with her own stories, and more attempts at cracking jokes.
jhammell 02-07-2006, 06:04 PM Mutt, jump on the Jessica Hahn, Lori vs. K.C. deal
janick78 02-07-2006, 06:06 PM I dunno if it's been covered before, but how about discussing Sirius equipment. You could talk to people about what kind of Sirius radio they have, creative ways that their radios are hooked up, and how they have them set up at work to listen.
I think Howard mentioned today about a technical show that will answer all questions regarding the Sirius equipment.
How about the topic of why Ralph is so special to Howard?
-what changed Howard's mind in the past few years...in the past Howard reffered to Ralph as radio poison...should be a good subject.
Jokiefan 02-07-2006, 06:06 PM I dunno if it's been covered before, but how about discussing Sirius equipment. You could talk to people about what kind of Sirius radio they have, creative ways that their radios are hooked up, and how they have them set up at work to listen.
8 P.M. TONIGHT ON HOWARD 100
dunnnie74 02-07-2006, 06:07 PM Robin's new car!
Jackoff Locke 02-07-2006, 06:08 PM I like the idea of a New Miss Howard Stern.
I would love to hear what people thought of the Artie Howard shrink discussion.
I'm curious what long time fans think of Robins News? It's been truncated for a number of years and the type of news Robin covers is very different from what it was 10 years ago (back then there was a lot more stories about sex crimes, race, politics, etc). Today the vast majority seems to be celebrity gossip. There is also no question the news is much, much shorter. I compared about 30 news segments from 1995 to the news so far on SIRIUS. The average length in 95' was 56 minutes compared to NOW when it is only 31 minutes, Do people prefer this version? When did this transition occur and why?
Do fans like that Howard takes so many phone calls nowadays or would they prefer to hear him speak more about his life, thoughts and opinions?
I also did a comparison on this (using the same sample shows) and Howard now takes 3 times as many phone calls as he did in 95.
I personally liked the old news far better, but I like how Howard has gotten his fans more involved by taking more calls in recent years.
Jackoff Locke 02-07-2006, 06:12 PM How about the topic of why Ralph is so special to Howard? what changed Howard's mind in the past few years...in the past Howard reffered to Ralph as radio poison...should be a good subject. [/B][/QUOTE]
This dude is right on the money how did the guy go from being "radio poisen" to a host of show and a phone caller who is picked up sometimes as many as 5 times a day (including aftershow where John Hein is clearly too terrified to not take the call)
DrCunillingus 02-07-2006, 06:12 PM Definitely talk about Roasting others starting with the wack-packers and moving into the main show characters. We haven't heard much about Sal taping his wife when they argue either. We need more of that.
Also, I would like to hear if there is an inlet for listeners to pitch show ideas, and would Howard or Gary actually get to hear them.
I listen to the howard show every day and my sirius radio (usually H100/101 News, Octane, Classic rewind) about 4-6 hours a day. Between 20-30 hours a week easily. plus I have My Timberwolves programmed for a game alert, and it's basketball season. I have other teams programmed, but NFL and MLB isn't in season. I listen ALOT.
DrCunillingus and the oral hour! Coming soon to H100/101 ????? That would be the shit!
The Butler 02-07-2006, 06:17 PM Definitely get in a plug for Beet's manager Sean's benefit. Maybe see if Rev. Bob can call in for a minute or two.
loralovesartie 02-07-2006, 06:19 PM I'd like to hear how Ralph always seems to get through when he calls but so many of us get a busy signal...Also why does Howard take so many of his fuckin' calls. I know I'm not the only one who is sick to death of Ralph
khoffa 02-07-2006, 06:22 PM Definitely think the non=stern programming should be discussed. Taz & Cole, Bubba, Danny, etc. We all came here for Stern but how are the other shows doing? Also address Ronnie's scores show and miserable men (sorry to say in same sentence Rev)
Discuss whether Danny or Taz&Cole should be signed full time.
Was Paco real? would anyone like to see him appear on the show?
Sirius Canada predictions : will Stern show get pulled? Should a seperate canada friendly stream (which can also help make more work-friendly for US listeners) be broadcasted? Concerns of the show getting heat to tone down for Canada
Richard Simmon Prank phone calls
and last but not least:
KC, Jessica Lori - loan scandal
The Butler 02-07-2006, 06:23 PM I'd like to hear how Ralph always seems to get through when he calls but so many of us get a busy signal
I'm sure Ralph, and some other regulars, call of different number than us poor schlubs.
kidnicotine 02-07-2006, 06:26 PM howard should use channel 103 to just run the show on a loop
Yuri Tarded 02-07-2006, 06:26 PM Discuss why Artie chose to go to the Turks And Caicos Islands. I suspect because it sounds kind of like "Turkey" and "Cake." - Respectfully.
joeponytail 02-07-2006, 06:34 PM Hey Mutt!!!!! :so: Maybe You can ask why the " P.D.T. won't show specifics on the programming currently playing when doing repeats??? And why no dates on the news reruns??? This would be great. Thanks Bro. Knock em dead!!!!
Why Ms. Robin's news seems to get a lot less time...
i used to look forward to her news which ran overtime...
now it is undertime.....
Timmy 02-07-2006, 06:54 PM How about how people just assume they are in the wack pack because they call a lot--What should be the criteria to be a member? Hopefully it's just not to be an annoying caller, ie, double a, maryanne. I like my wack packers retarded, mentally ill, deformed, or some other defect not just annoying.
How about how every whackpaker always says "Im not part of the whackpack."
Timmy 02-07-2006, 06:57 PM Did someone already mention the trainwreck that is the Scores Stripper SHow!
nicklehood 02-07-2006, 06:58 PM who gives a shit radio :shit:
janick78 02-07-2006, 07:01 PM Did someone already mention the trainwreck that is the Scores Stripper SHow!
Yes, Howard did and place the order with Tim that show needs a good producer.
Travis_Bickle 02-07-2006, 07:21 PM do the fans want ralph on the friday show?
BostonBrian 02-07-2006, 07:29 PM the show needs a nationwide hunt for all new wackpackers. the current ones are getting a little stale(except for beet)
keep gary on the friday show and get more behind the scenes stories.
thank YOOOOOOUUUU!
stumpjumper 02-07-2006, 07:33 PM there have been a rash of prank calls to the Jay Thomas Show. Are these necessary?
maloof 02-07-2006, 07:40 PM The whole Lori vs. KC thing got played out real fast. It's worth mentioning, but try not to spend too much time with it. I actually turned it off.
I think Elliot Offen is coming in this week, so you should definatley talk about his appearance. If he doesn't show, talk about what his deal is.....
Another very important topic is Artie's relationship with Dana. Howard seems to be more interested in that nowadays and likes to play shrink with Artie. That can lead into Artie's vices which are ALWAYS fun to talk about.
The Sybian........is Howard playing it out too fast? It's more of a novelty item and should be used only when appropriate. This morning I think Howard realized it was a mistake to break it out when Kendra just wasn't into it. That will make for a good show on HowardTV though.
Collective Soul's performance.......
Paco?
The roast shows and how they are going to do Ronnie next. How will it compare to the original.
Who is coming on the show this week?
SybianSphincter 02-07-2006, 07:46 PM i really want to know what fred thinks about robin's car!!!
Nursegrrl8 02-07-2006, 07:47 PM Howard on Artie's therapist was so out of hand!!
Howard is so self absorbed it is ridiculous!
coldandugly 02-07-2006, 07:48 PM How great Miserable Men was.
Kendra Jade comin back on drunk. If only she rode that Sybian the right way that wouldve been gold.
Nursegrrl8 02-07-2006, 07:48 PM More talk on whether the fans want repeats of the show rather than endless loops of the news. Mutt who is on this week?
good topic!
H100 and H101 scheduling!
Nursegrrl8 02-07-2006, 07:49 PM How great Miserable Men was.
.
miserable men was postponed til next tuesday.
But good one for next week!
MrJeff2000 02-07-2006, 07:49 PM How about when is Sirius going to get Howard a wireless mike so he can roam the floors and look for celebrities visiting other stations.
One of the main things he kept hyping in the pre-January reports was his ability to walk around and "poach" guests.
For instance - was Richard Simmons in the building last week (on Jay Thomas' show) or in L.A.? It sure sounded like they were in New York, when Richard said, "That person is somewhere in the building."
coldandugly 02-07-2006, 07:50 PM
miserable men was postponed til next tuesday.
But good one for next week!
Will be?
Nursegrrl8 02-07-2006, 07:59 PM Howard and Oprah - chapelle stuff
train and collective soul? Recommendations for bands that fans would want to hear?
Anarchess 02-07-2006, 08:20 PM I like your topics so far, Mutt! A new Miss Howard Stern would be fresh and new.
How about the relevance of having stale, old, plastic people on the show still...Kendra Jade is a good example of an all-used-up porn star. Howard doesn't have to do this anymore. New generations of crazy people are out there in droves!
Talk about Artie's therapy! Yeah!
Star Jones soiling the atmosphere of Sirius today. Ugh!
(short) review of the crappy Drunk Scores Strippers Show.
Weekend schedules.
Wish there was news on Elliot Awful:(
loralovesartie 02-07-2006, 08:23 PM How about something about Howard constantly giving advice to his staff like Artie and the therapy, then something about his reaction to people who don't do what Howard suggests.
Jokiefan 02-07-2006, 08:24 PM How about something about Howard constantly giving advice to his staff like Artie and the therapy, then something about his reaction to people who don't do what Howard suggests.
it's a SuperFAN roundtable, not a dissection of Howard.
JokerJackie 02-07-2006, 09:16 PM What about Danny. Fans thought on how Mr. Train-wreck did, and would the want him to have a regular gig.
I thought Danny did a great week of radio. I want to hear more about his wacky life.
JokerJackie 02-07-2006, 09:17 PM What about Porn stars. Jenna and the Sybian, versus a drunk Kendra.
mighty_beefcake 02-07-2006, 10:47 PM I think we need to hear something about Grandpa Al's contributions to the show. Now that I look back on things, he may well be on my top 5 guest list. Grandpa and Pat Cooper are two opinionated old guys I always loved to hear.
zimma89 02-07-2006, 10:55 PM Mutt no more talk of the berry faced faggot. That will just build his all ready inflated ego even more. fuck ralph ever since stern went to sirius it became all ralph all the time.
Jeton 02-07-2006, 10:55 PM 2 things:
in addition to discussing the door being cracked open for Jackie, if it aint been discussed before i'd love to hear some discussion of how much Billy West could contribute if the bridge between him and Mel K could be rebuilt.
Also, the Roundtable theme song: how EXACTLY did it come into being and what is the meaning of *requiring* the panelists to sing it rather than just prerecord it? i was on the only roundtable that didn't have it (the first) and the song was never fun or funny and is always painful to hear, so the question becomes "how did this totally unnecessary and rather passive-aggressive humiliation of the panelists come into being?" Was it Fred's idea or did he just write it at Howard's behest, and whose animus does it really represent?
zimma89 02-07-2006, 11:00 PM Also we haven't heard from high pitch that much lately did he piss someone off ?
al420 02-07-2006, 11:35 PM Howard and Artie talking like Yoda during Erik the midgets call when he backed out of his show.
Ross Bergman 02-07-2006, 11:52 PM TOPICS FOR 2/09/06 SUPERFAN ROUNDTABLE:
Since most people agree that The Howard 100 News needs to be changed (which it's already starting to be) how can it be made better? Maybe airing a story only ONCE and then re-airing it ONCE on the weekends with a show called This Week In Howard 100 News... then, the rest of the time, simply take live listener calls?
Since K.C. Armstrong is no longer affiliated with the show, does it make for compelling radio to still follow-up on his current rehab status? Or should he be left in the past?
Since Howard said he didn't like Ronnie's show with the Scores Girls, how can it be made better? Or should it not be a show at all, and simply be a series of very short clips that Howard plays every now and then?
Which of your favorite segments are you waiting to hear again? Stump The Booey, Win Fred's Money, Wheel of Sex?
Now that Grandpa Al Lewis is gone... Aside from Sam Kinison, who's your favorite deceased guest? (Hank, Tiny Tim, etc?)
Who else deserves their own radio show?
What's been the most memorable on-air moment since Howard left terrestrial radio?
Are Howard's channels better off having a set schedule for their programming... or is it better if there's more spontaneity for the next five years with new random shows constantly popping up for one or two weeks at a time?
If there IS another Howard channel added in a couple of years, what should be on it?
CAhowardFAN 02-08-2006, 01:00 AM Here are my suggestions:
The Friday Show
Al Lewis and his connection with the show
Collective Soul performing on the show
hiring Danny Bonaduce
Howard Stern Show replays (I go to school, so I love that I can listen when I come home)
Kendra Jade on the Sybian
Howard's show in Canada
Howard's a racist?
Richard Simmons prank call
The Taz and Cole Show
Wednesday's show
Thursday's show
I don't know the story behind the song other than fred wrote it and howard likes that we sing it. I've listened and the few times we did it at the end of the show were 100% better than every time we did it in the beginning. everyone is comfortable and has had a couple drinks in them by then. Right now, we are considering moving it to the end of the show.
maloof 02-08-2006, 07:55 AM BUCK ON THE SYBIAN!!!!!!!
Parkerman 02-08-2006, 08:01 AM With Artie talking more, should he have his own show?
Air Florida 02-08-2006, 08:13 AM LAS VEGAS And a possible SFN convention.
THETHRILL2006 02-08-2006, 08:56 AM hoe we liked seeing the women of sfn bear all for us
and who is the hottest
Monty Burns 02-08-2006, 09:03 AM Howard and Dee's reunion. Was Robin being too harsh on Dee? What would you have done in Dee's position? What you have done in Howard's position? Should Dee get a show on 100 or 101?

OUTSTANDING!!!!
I always saw the roundtable as a way to take something from the show and move into a new direction, not just comment on what happened on the show. Was Kendra Jade a fun guest? Sure. Other than saying that what else can the roundtable add to that? The roundtable should be the launchpad for ideas as well as constructive criticism.
viking5000 02-08-2006, 09:55 AM What P R O F F E S S I O N A L DJs/Hosts can Howard hire/would fit in @ H100 and H101. Too much amateur radio - sounds like everything (akmost) is winged and made up as need be...
chrisT 02-08-2006, 10:12 AM howard should use channel 103 to just run the show on a loop
Thats a great idea...I love sirius, but I bought the unit for Howard and my schedule is so spuratic(sp?) that I often miss alot of his show (including the nightly repeat.) If Howard has access to a 3rd channel, he might as well use it.
KingofAllFans 02-08-2006, 10:52 AM the passing of Grandpa Al Lewis, Robin being the Wicked Bitch of the East, Dee finally returning and his beef with Bubba, and Kendra's apperance
Max-the-Silent 02-08-2006, 11:12 AM How have Sal and Richard caused the show to go gay.
Jeton 02-08-2006, 11:12 AM I don't know the story behind the song other than fred wrote it and howard likes that we sing it. i agree the end-versions have been better than the start-versions, but still the asskissing lyrics combined with "we've got nuh-thing better to-do, than talk about How-ard Stern..." would seem to fall into the "Howard's insecure/lashing out" category. Or maybe Fred is...or both.
I get that they like it, and maybe it's passive-aggressive of *me* bringing it up, but it definitely seems like the reason they like it is because it lessens the sting of any critique that comes off the show. it's not as bad (or as good) as making the panelists sit on a big dildo but there's definitely something weird about it.
the very concept of the show is unusual and ballsy, but i think the song is a semi-conscious attempt to intimidate the panelists...sort of like a frat hazing.
the we've got nothing better to do line is bad. I don't write theme songs but I'm pretty sure that the song isn't supposed to insult itself.
mrspoopypants 02-08-2006, 01:51 PM Sorry if this was asked before, but who are the SUPERFANS on this week's show???
I just talked to Sean and he sounds good. He says he feels fine but he's very weak. He won't be able to come out othe show, but Beetle will be there.
I'm going to call him on the Thursday night on the Super Fan Roundtable so the fans get a chance to talk to him.
this tonite 02-08-2006, 02:27 PM Hey Mutt if you get the chance, ask Beet if he is still trying to make the moves on Sean's wife, lol. I was cracking up when Howard was teasing Beetle about that when Beetle called into the show a few weeks ago.
lubricantstick 02-08-2006, 02:36 PM I HATE how the Super Fan Roundtable is from 4-5 Pacific time. I get off work at 5, and my antenna won't pick up any signal in the office no matter where I put it, so I never get to hear it unless I either leave work early...oooor...if I happen to hear a replay on the weekend. But come on, it's the fucking weekend, who wants to sit around and wait for it?
I just think it's really an inconvenient time for those of us that aren't on the right coast. Maybe I'm just being a pussy, but I really like the show, I want to HEAR it.
Otherwise, Mutt, you're doing an awesome job. Talk about the Sybian tomorrow night. That thing has gotten more pussy already than all of the wackpackers put together.
-Liz
visorkid 02-08-2006, 02:36 PM Mutt. you guys have gotta talk about the secret animosity that ALL show regulars feel towards Robin. I mean, lets face it, Howard does nothing but praise her, defend and repeat her UNFUNNY one-liners during his rants and side with her on issues ranging from politics to his own personal feelings...
ANY true fan can feel through the radiowaves:
The anger of Fred toward her(always making him feel stupid, leaving him out of conversation, feeling second best)
the jealousy of Gary toward her(contracts, new cars, constant comradery between her and Howie)
the constant scolding of Artie(for kissin Howards ass, not going to therapy)
Now, I understand how important Robin is, and I love what she brings to the show, and I know all the cast deep down loves her, but something needs to be said for her Carte Blanche pass to do/say/react however the fuck she wants to ANYTHING that happens on theShow.
Sometimes, even a diehard fan wants to punch that bitch in the mouth.

Robin definately has a way of belittling people, but she probably doesn't realize she's doing it.
visorkid 02-08-2006, 02:39 PM p.s. the core of the show(Howard, Robin, Fred, Gary, maaayyybbeee Artie) need to be confronted about their TRUE feelings for Robin. The honesty of theShow is WHY WE LISTEN.
Lets talk honesty between fans what we think they truly feel towards Robin... and for once, let her sit back and have to listen to what she's constantly dishing out.
