Sirius on Iphone

Was just listening to the reply and during the news someone called in saying that you can now listen to SIrius on your Iphone. I had heard an app was in the works but can't find anything on my phone. Is this true? How do I do it?

Orb and USirius blows, unless your in a Wi-Fi Zone, I tried it for and it constantly cuts out but if your in Wi Fi works great. I didn't hear clearly what they said but for the money your gonna pay for the service on what that guy advertised ya mise well buy a stiletto, or sooner or laster Sirius will become more compatible with phones.

I disagree....Orb and uSirius work great for me...only issues ever are when I have bad cell coverage. It obviously works better with 3G (less chance for buffering) but as long as you have a good server to host the streaming software and a good broadband connection...you should be good to go. It's just klugy.

Jason Millard, author of uSirius, did just post last week on his blog that he is back to working on the non-jailbreak iPhone version of uSirius (he has beta testers with a very early version) but no ETA as to when it will be up on the App Store.

Hopefully soon.

UPDATE: Shortly after I posted....I saw on the App Store "OrbLive" which makes using Orb WAY easier and faster to access Sirius streaming via uSirius - it uses its own audio player. Have to buy the $9.99 version as the free version won't do custom channels. Check it Out!

Not that I'm getting an Iphone, but out of curiousity, how would an iphone's battery handle a 5 hr show?

Unless you jailbreak your iPhone, you can't do it. There is no flash support for iPhone and no legit application for sirius

StarPlayr 3.0 for Mac OS X is scheduled to arrive by the first quarter of next year. iPhone and Windows Mobile clients are currently in development. The iPhone is our first priority, but it has taken longer than expected getting licensing worked out for the iPhone Client. As soon as the business side of iPhone version is ironed out, you'll be able to purchase StarPlayr for iPhone at the App Store. In the meantime, we do have an public alpha available for StarPlayr for Windows, Powered by StreamSmartâ„¢ is currently is the only Sat. Radio client that combines Sirius and XM in one application. And our original fully functional Mac Version, StarPlayr2, is available on our Products page.

The report reveals that iPhone battery life is performing very well because the audio is in a native format for the iPhone. "Other" players require audio to be converted on the iPhone, which supposedly eats into the battery life. The post also indicates that sound quality is very good.
______________________________________________

The app is looking great. There is a fairly recent screenshot of it on www.StarPlayr.com. It's in the middle of the page the "our products" page.

I wish we could give you more information as to when this app will be released. Right now our lips are sealed.

NiceMac LLC receives emails daily about the ETA. We are going through the proper channels to make sure this app does not encounter problems down the road. Nothing would be worse to put it out there and have it get pulled. Or people pay for it only later to have it come out for free. Or it works one day only to have it not work the next.

Something this big takes time. It is really about building relationships with other third party companies. This will ensure a win-win. We don't even know what other obstacles we will face down the road, but we'll overcome them one step at a time.

We can't say anything else until it is official.

Goodtime
