i've thought about it before too and the phrase shock-jock seems to follow stern around everywhere

i've heard stern say 'shock jock' mocklingly after reading an article that used it but i've never heard him say he hates it or anything

if anything, he's happy that he's in the news. the guy knows how to make headlines

Yeah, I heard him say, a few times, that he hated the label. I do, too, because he's not trying to "shock" his audience. Guys like Opie and Anthony, however, fit the description. There's very little humor on their show, just mindless chatter about bullshit.

He IS a "shock jock"...he says many things just to surprise and shock people. He is much more than that, but he is still that for sure.

He's more than the label...but he did shock the hell out of me when I first started to listen to him. I could not believe he could get away with what he did, especially in "Private Parts".
