Greetings everybody,

As you have probably noticed, we have often had downtimes. This was because it was so hard to keep this site up!
But now we are sorry to inform you all, that SuprNova is closing down for good in the way that we all know it.
We do not know if SuprNova is going to return, but it is certainly not going to be hosting any more torrent links.
We are very sorry for this, but there was no other way, we have tried everything.

Thank you all that helped us, by donating mirrors or something else, by uploading and seeding files, by helping people out on IRC and on forum, by spreading the word about SuprNova.org.
It is a sad day for all of us!

Please visit SuprNova.org every once in a while to get the latest news on what is happening and if there is anything new to report on.

As we wish to maintain the nice comunity that we created, we are keppig forums and irc servers open.

Not at all, they just need to do things smarter. Sites like Suprnova were free to anyone with a computer.

Its all about private trackers.

Thats because even though the actual site is down , the people who you are downloading from still have their files open for seeding, probably just on a different tracker. Plus , their is still one more mirror site that's open.

Isn't suprnova.org working on a bit torrent system that has no central location? I thought that they were developing some breakthrough application that decentralizes the whole bittorrent process, making it safer to d/l.

I think that's what they mean when they say they won't be back in the same way that they existed before.

Yes, that's true, but there are these "trackers" (links) which are hosted on the server that contains all the information needed for downloading any particular file. Such information would contain the "seeders" and "leechers" and their IP addresses so the BT program would know where to go.

Oh, by the way, I found a few new BT sites but havent tried them yet. If you're successful with any of these, please let us know.

No, they aren't safe at all. They can still track you down. Any time you connect to anything online, your IP can be sniffed out and recorded. I'm sure that very soon Torrent users will be getting sued, mainly for pirated movies. The movie industry said that even if you have one pirated movie on your hardrive, you could get sued.
