Quick question for anyone willing to answer.........(and nice enough!)
I have a Sportster Cradle in my car (i usually take the actual unit inside at nite due to cold weather)
This a.m I turned my car on (without the unit on the cradle...and my radio was automatically tuned to 88.1 FM)
HOWARD was on LOUD AND CLEAR!!
How the hell did that happen? I drove around without  the unit on to see how far i could drive without it. I went at least 5 miles!
Am I "special"?? (wait............don't answer that) |

if the unit was on in your house, it makes sense that it would work for some distance but if you drove around and it still worked, you better call the church because you are an angel from heaven.

You guys laugh but this is how the FCC is going to get Howard. In supreme court obsenity cases one of the arguments that was successfully advanced was that unintended listeners would accidently tune in to offensive content when flipping through stations. The bible thumpers could argue that, although sirius has parental controls to protect younger or innocent listeners, those controls do not protect listeners in nearby cars or with nearby radios.

Fuck the FCC. Don't you see it doesn't matter? The whole problem wasn't that the FCC had the constitutional authority to regulate radio, they don't! The problem was that they would fuck with radio companies if they even thought about fighting them. Howard can now take them to court if they fuck with him. He wouldn't have to worry about being driven out of business by the FCC blocking his buying and selling radio stations. I honestly think the FCC is backing down because they are now afraid of Howard.

I highly dobut if you were picking up a signal for over 5 miles it was from your receiver. From everything I have read its near impossible. House to the driveway or maybe out to the street maybe but not much further then that. You have to be getting somones transmitted signal.
