ok im thinking about getting sirius..(havent had the disposable income and i miss listening to the show)..this question has a couple of parts;

*how will sirius know if your home reciever is at a home or business? (businesses have to pay like 10 dollars more a month)

*im going to get a starmate and i will use it at work, home and in my car..will this be 1 payment of 12.95 per month or 12.95 for one and 6.99 for the other two?

*is that starmate cube looking stereo out yet?..the site says february, but its march..is sirius usually like this when releasing stereos?

*do i need a different stereo for my house and my work or can i just bring it back and forth?

these probably arent worded that well because i just woke up..but please just answer them the best you can...im new to the whole sirius thing and i need info as ill be buying it all through the sirius site and dont want to buy what i dont need..thanks...

*how will sirius know if your home reciever is at a home or business? (businesses have to pay like 10 dollars more a month)

If you are only using it on your desk at work, you don't have to pay the business fee.

*im going to get a starmate and i will use it at work, home and in my car..will this be 1 payment of 12.95 per month or 12.95 for one and 6.99 for the other two?

The signal is sent to the receiver. One subscription per receiver. You can take the receiver with you in the car, to work and at home (if you buy the home kit).

*is that starmate cube looking stereo out yet?..the site says february, but its march..is sirius usually like this when releasing stereos?

It's not out yet. Yes, dates are always being pushed back.

*do i need a different stereo for my house and my work or can i just bring it back and forth?

I'm assuming you mean "receiver" not stereo. If you have one plug n play/portable receiver that's all you need.

The Starmate Replay receiver is by far the best option for you.

They don't, just use your home address.

You can use the same PnP Sirius radio at home/work/office by moving it around. So you'll pay just $12.95/month. If you decide to get a second radio, then you'll pay an additional $6.99/month.

No. Not released.

No, you just bring it back and forth.

you guys are awesome..thanks..i think ill go with the starmate, but will the reciever just plug into a regular stereo ,i mean how would i go about listening to it on my stereo at work if there are no docking stations for the starmate out yet?

still a little confused, but thanks alot for the help...
flowerfeeder
Yes, it will plug into your home stereo and the small antenna will go on your windowsill.

It comes with everything you need for the car. You'll have to buy a home kit.

You'll have to bring the home antenna and adapter with you to work unless you wait for the boombox.
boombox
The Sirius radio has a built-in FM transmitter. You'll tune your stereo to an unused channel frequency, then set the Sirius radio to transmit on that frequency. Then you'll be able to listen on any stereo.
flowerfeeder
Or you can buy 2 home kits (one for work, one for home).
flowerfeeder
It's a lot easier than you are expecting. Just buy the Starmate and a home kit. You'll see.

alright i get it..youse guys are awesome..

but i have one more..can i set it up anywhere?..like as long as i bring the reciever with me and have a boombox(whenever it comes out)or an antenna at the location, it will work... correct?

yea i think im just over reacting ill just buy the reciever and wing it...im usually kinda good at figuring that stuff out...

thanks for all the help though...
flowerfeeder
It will work anywhere as long as you can get a signal. You'll have to have the antenna with you and it will need to be in a windowsill facing the satellite (towards MN approx.).

Do you have a window near your desk at work?

i actually own a drive thru convenience store, so its just like two big doors on either side of me..so i shouldnt have a problem with reception..

This is so true! I wish people weren't so afraid.

If you have an FM radio (any FM radio) already, and you have a Sirius receiver (Starmate for you), then all you'll ever need is a power supply, an antenna and a semi-clear view to the sky.

There plenty of complicated things you can do beyond this to make things more convenient, but this is all you NEED to listen. Start with the setup previously discussed here and go from there. You're going to love it!

I have nothing to add to this thread but I find it interesting that you own a drive through convenience strore. I have never seen one of them but that is a damn good idea.

oh my god its insane how much i can jack up the prices of beer just because people are lazy and dont want to get out of their cars..

17.99 for a 20 pk of bud light...ha..and you get a couple hot chicks to work it at night and the drunks just keep coming back..when i first heard jeff the drunk i wasnt surprised at all..i deal with so many regulars that are exactly like him its not even funny..

some people just drive thru for a 20 oz. coke (1.40 after tax) most of the time..sooo lazy...oh america, how i love thee...
