Gettin er done testin! 4.73 327 In Vegas testin. Call and find out what they found?

He said on Bubba’s show they would be testing there. He mentioned problems with the transmission but they thought they had figured it out. He also brought up a clutch issue causing him to smoke the tires late in the start but it was an easy fix.

Correct he was on yesterday talkin about testin.Fuel cars don't have transmissions they have a centrifigal clutch that pressure is applied to on timers and by the arms that Scelzi was talking about having a problem with.As rpms climb the fingers apply pressure because they become heavier while rotating. But the cars are direct dirve connected by a clutch but no transmissions. Hope bubba gives him a call Scelzi is fun on the radio.I just wish he'd quit bashin on Pro stockers.I'd like Bubba to make Bubba a bet he couldn't wheel a pro stocker...

I wasn’t going into great detail since most here don’t know that much about racing. I admit I’ve been out of top fuel and funny car racing for a while but aren’t they still using an air shift or am I out of date and going old school here? I guess the more I think about it, it might be a direct drive with a slip from the clutch plates. It’s been a while since I’ve been around this stuff. I have family in drag racing but it’s still local stuff at this point.

No transmissions at all in TF and FC, direct drive with a centrifigul clutch/They don't even have to let the clutch out on yellow. It is already engaged and they just hit the accelerator.Clutch is only for switching the reverser and standing at idle.No more dumping the clutch and no more shifting. This is Why I would like to see Scelzi wheel a pro stocker. Dump the clutch on time and shift 4 times while keeping it in the grove and hitting the shift points right on to make a perfect run.Fuel cars are FAST but if tuned propersly and no pedaling is needed(usually a loss at that point) TF And FC drivers (I so hate to say it this way) just steer.I am not in any way saying it is easy(cause it ain't) but it aint like it used to be.There is still a lot of stuff going on though.
