I must have an outdoor antenna to get a decent signal in my house (or the channel I hear most of the time is "acquiring signal"). Does anybody else use this 50 foot extension ant. that sirius sells? Is it magnetic? What do you attach it to on your roof?
or does anyone use anything else? any decent ideas would be great. |

My antenna sits on the ground because I didn't want to bother attaching it to my roof and didn't have a ladder tall enough anyways.
Outside of one hour a day in which the signal goes in-and-out, the Sirius antenna that came with the home kit works fine. |

Don't confuse the 50 foot antenna extension with an exterior antenna. The 50 foot cable is just for when you cannot reach your outdoor antenna with the included cable, but it doesn't include an exterior antenna. You still have to buy the antenna separately. I recommend the Terk Sirius exterior antenna. It's really nice and it will solve your home reception problems for once and for all. You'll never lose the signal again. Good luck. |

thanks. that's the kind of info i was looking for. can the 50 foot extension work with the car ant? because i have the car ant (since its magnetized) attached to a metal thing on my roof but the cord isn't long enough so my radio sits in my garage. if the 50 ft cord could attac to the car ant, it would be perfect. |

now, is this only for one of those terk antenna??
I have a home kit antenna for my Starmate. I get a great signal. no problem there. But my starmate is about 20/30 feet away from my stereo so I can't plug directly in (this is mostly for getting good sound for the music channels). I need to have the antenna out the bathroom window because it's the only one facing west.
so, is that cable - which will be entirely INSIDE my room the right one?? or is there something else? |
