Sorry, I just canceled my sub for Howard On Demand. I was unhappy that it was not in HD and now the content is just not the amount I expected. Besides that, it wasn't as uncensored as they claimed.

Anyone else cancel? I know people have said they were going to, but don't know if anyone really did.
michaeljamesmcc
Totally understandable. I don't blame you.

I'm hanging in for the moment, but getting closer to cancelling everyday.

I know a lot of other people have cancelled recently.
mrkrispy
i'm gonna stick around at least for a while. Still want to see a lot of bits from the last few years (Jesus twins especially). I am kinda bummed they are replaying stuff they aired in November/Decemeber instead of more first-run stuff. Ah well.
tchescat2000
I planned on sticking around a few more months also, but last week made me feel like I was wasting my money. Also Doug keeps giving me the opinion that it isn't going to get any better.
cnysternfan
I was getting set to order it, I take it that it's not worth it? It started at $9.95 per month here, now it's up to $13.95. I don't want to waste the money if it sucks.
Player 1
whats up with the best of week 3-20-06 show??

aside from krista ayne and penny crone crying the rest of it was already out. and they didnt even include the elliot offen from the street segment which was clearly the highlight of that week!!!!!

it's becoming apparent that howard is screening only positive calls regarding howard t.v. Anyone who has howard t.v. for more than a day has realized that there are major problems with content, editing of programs and distribution. At least Howard is really starting to get on Goodstein for not getting the job done. Today he mentioned that executive producer could have gone to Gangee. If the film festival doesn't go well Goodstein is f'd

I'm thinking about bailing after the film fest.
If cablevision raises the price, I'm gone for sure.

I paid for a year. Hopefully the addition of content gets stepped up a little...

I signed up for the year subscription in March from Comcast for $109.99. I'm not sure what it's like for anyone else, but the way I read it on their page is you don't get much of a refund.

"The annual package is non-refundable except for a $25 bill credit if canceled within the first six months of service."

Guess I won't be cancelling, and hope that the '2-3 shows a day' updates actually begin to happen.

its about not getting what we were promised, if they woulda said HD was coming later this year initially, then i wouldnt have a problem. the fact that it was promoted as being in HD up until someone complained, THAT i have a problem with.

and its not about how much content, but what type of content.. i end up fast forwarding through the majority of the shows because its the celeb interviews that are no different from what i heard on the radio and not visual in any way... plus the retarded best of week

we have legit gripes.... and i too will be canceling soon
cleansafe
i wish they would keep the celebs off
i want to see video of the first hour when they are all just bullshitting or i wouldnt mind seeing robins news and just to see what the folks are doing.
or better yet just put the whole fucking show up
the celeb interviews suck
fjackieftimmy
listening to most of these celeb interviews is tough enough to get through the first time on radio. We don't need to be subjected to watch it on HTV. Howard is such a star fucker. Does anyone really believe that he thinks that pig sandra bernhardt is hot and that he wants a 3 way with her. Gimme a break, Howard's fucking a model. He doesn't want some 50 year old has been. If I want to listen to some douche bag celebrity pontificate on their greatest I'll watch Barbara Walters. Give me freaks and retards any day of the week.

You people are crazy. I pay $13.99 for Howard TV and it is well spent. I get new shows daily both the old E! and new Sirius shows (recently broadcasted) within a day.

You really can't put a price on that kind of entertainment. If you want to see actual penetration watch a porn and call it a day. :arg:
R3DX
im one of the crazies that has nothing to do in the morning and listens to the entire show everyday. so i find it xtremely hard to to sit thru the same interviews ive already heard (most of which i didnt give a shit about then) im nore into the outside the studio stuff (weekend at the christys, sals new years party and shit in the office) and untill there is more of that on i wont be paying for HTV

xcept for this month with the film fest

Let's say that chicks riding a sybian or using a fuck machine is porn (which I don't think it is). Fine. We're not the ones asking for porn. Howard is the one trying to sell the porn to us.

Howard brings them into the studio to do the deed, Howard is the one that developed a specialty TV station to show it, Howard is the one who says repeatedly during the segment "Ya gotta see this on HTV" and then Howard charges 14 bucks a amonth for the privilege of seeing it. Only problem is, once we agree to the sale he's not providing what claims to be selling. I can't wait to see how censored the Tera Patrick sybian ride will be.

I was fine with HowardTV until the price went up to 13.95 a month :(

Not to excuse the price hike, but it was announced way before the service even started that the 9.99 price was introductory and would jump to 13.95 once the new Sirius shows started airing. This was made clear months before the launch.

I plan to keep it. It's better than the old E! shows in a lot of ways. My only complaint is that new content isn't showing up the way I thought it would. Some days there's no new shows. I can understand on some days Howard has no guests and nothing visually interesting happens on the show but there are so many old shows they could be putting on. Before I got the service I was thinking there'd be 2 to 3 "new" (I new show from that day and old E! shows or special projects)shows popping up per day. But there are days where I get nothing for the day.

The way they used to talk before the channel lauched I thought they had hundreds of re-edited E! shows ready to go.

iNDEMAND has a suggested subscription rate but it is up to the cable system as to what they actually charge.

Cablevision in my area currently charges $9.95 a month for the service.

no that is good entertainment, HOWEVER alot of people arent getting this entertainment, we are getting drips and drabs of what you get and alot of us are pissed off.

Waiting for the film festival and then probrably will cancel. Time Warner 13.95, I could get 2 more Sirius subs for that money.
shrek221
There's really a big conflict between the shows I get and what's really available, but my cable system is mostly to blame for that. I've got Adelphia. I do agree that the "best of" shows should offer different content than that of the weekly shows. They should divide the shows into more sub catagories, offer a section for just the celebrity interviews for those who can sit through them. If they would show the entire show I think people would be happy.
Nursegrrl8
I respect you more if you give it a chance and decide against it.
I don't get why people have no interest in checking it out!

I, myself, love it! (except for the delay of the carver roast- which was my cable company's fault)

Agreed. I think the film festival is a serious turning point for HTV. IF after the festival (which hopefully will be good) more content isn't provided on a consistent weekly basis I will cancel. That's why i have been so vocal on the matter, I really wish it was what it could be
jigzaw
The only reason I still have Howard TV is because I submitted to the film festival and am really curious to see the finalists/staff films. After that, time to save some money and just enjoy the radio show.

I hear it's coming to Rogers Cable so I'll get to subscribe... I've seen some of the content that's up there and a lot of it had me in stitches... I have to at least try it for a month

Yeah I definitely recommend TRYING it for a month or so. Then you can make your own decision. Some people seem to be happy with the frequency of updates. I am a hardcore fan and really was hoping for the 2-3 shows a day as was initially stated by the Z man
PeachesCat
It is better than nothing. Is Howard TV great? No. But it is better than E and better than not having the show at all.
bubbba35
I've had HTV for about a month. I'm 65% satisfied. I wish more of the old E! shows were put up. Only 4 old shows have been put on since i've had it, and they were repeats. (Daily shows 4/10-4/13)
jigzaw
I should clarify. I'm not really disappointed in Howard TV, although I'm wondering where's all the old uncencored E! stuff (uh, It's Just Wrong, anybody???).
But I just find that I'm not watching it very much at all. I'm one of those kooks who records the show and listens to it the next day at work. So, after 6 hours of listening to Howard (and aftershow) every day, my head is just saturated and I can't take anymore. I have too many other things to watch.
Oskeewow
I'm locked in for a year, but will likely cancel after that if they don't get HD on Comcast for Howard TV. That was a big reason as to why I switched to Comcast from Directv in the first place.

havent u been listening to the show? Howard hasnt taken 1 call that even slightly has a problem with the channel. Every call is someone saying how its the greatest channel out there. He hasnt read one bad email about it either and thats bullshit seeing how there's a bunch of ppl who are unhappy with the service

I wish someone from iNDemand could give us a timetable for the rollout of HD versions of the show. Hell I would even be happy with Bit-starved HD-Lite (like the 1280x1080i 9Mb/s crap DirecTV tries to pass as HD)

My Comcast bill is astronomical and I barely watch any TV...it’s just that I have to pay a ton for the actual package that I want (it’s mostly HD stuff – I very rarely watch any shows in Standard Definition anymore). I was really bummed that they actually tapping the new shows in HD but not showing them which is why I’ve held out but the Film Festival will probable get me to sign up for a month. Hopefully Congress will stop worrying about getting their fat asses re-elected long enough to pass that a-la-carte cable bill so I can dump the 200+ channels I don’t even turn to!

I'm cancelling when and IF I ever get the film festival on Comcast in the DC area. It's after 3 p.m. on Monday and still no film festival.

Have you considered posting in the Content Missing? thread (listed as a sticky at the top of this forum) per what is asked in the first post of that thread?
ArtiesDevilDog
Well, I've heard good and bad things. I've heard basically the biggest complaint is that the sybian stuff, and especially the fuck machines.com segment was heavily censored. I think it wouldn't be quite as big of an issue if at some point in the show Howard addressed it, he might not even be aware of the extent of the censorship.

I assume it has something to do with laws about content, regarding what is nc-17 and what is R rated etc.

"Best of the Week" usually contains multiple chapters, from different day's shows (a good thing)...

However, there is no cover page in the opening frames, with what bits are included, in what order, for how many minutes. I have no idea, for example, that Jenna Jameson is in the 4th segment, 45 minutes into this particular 'Best of the Week' segment.

I hope someone with influence is reading this. It would be an incredible improvement if we could fast forward to the parts that interested each of us, 'The Stern Fans'.

I hope other Stern fans feel the same as I do. This is purely a technical issue, easy to remedy.

What do you think?

Film Festival Award show was a dissapointment, I thought Howard said they were gonna show all of the After Party stuff, including SFRT and Wrap up shows,
instead it was a 10 minute red carpet recap, and basically another way to replay all of the staff and finalists films,

not worth watching, waste of time.

beer league trailer was the only real "new" material worth seeing in this episode.
THE KRYPT
I agree once you listen to the celeb interviews there is really no desire to see it or hear it again... we listen for the crew and there should be more of that shit up there like the last hour first hour of the show is always the best :)

What kind of true Howard fan would cancel HTV? It does not make sense...having something is better than nothing.

And those that want to save money, cut out two trips to Starbucks each month or a couple of packs of cigs and you just saved yourself enough to pay for Howard TV each month.

Unbelievable...when there was no Howard TV everyone was wanting it. Now that it's here, people are bemoaning it. Must be the same 'Don't know what ya got, till it's gone' principle that states "Point out any smokin' hot chick and you'll also be able to find a guy that's tired of screwin' her".

yah it seems like they focus on one update a month when it comes to the old e stuff which disapoints me.

I think they should put more old e uncensored.

I was disapointed at the edit on the fucking machine ..I mean it's a pais service..I wanted to see that chick squirt on gary and they kept cutting to close ups of fred

hey... jerkoff.... we love the extra content, its the fact that its presented as uncensored, when it is censored... and that there is SO MUCH content... and many of the shows are not that great and/or are repeated
Jack20202
I do believe Will (or whomever else) is censoring the calls comming in about shows not showing up within 48 hours, because there is apparently not much they can do about it, I guess. I mean, the daily shows not being uploaded on time by the various cable companies !

You notice not one call received on the show was about that one issue.

Agreed we are promised pussy and we get gay acts if you like to look at cock then you will enjoy HTV. I for one don't care for looking at BABA Booeys back or R.C.'s cock when there is a hot chick flashing her beaver in the studio. Get off Howard's dick with the waaaa shit the HTV sucks no doubt about it, the content we are told about isn't there and we see more dick then pussy... Howard is great on the radio because he paints a better picture then there is because obviously when we get the T.V. all we see is dick... And if it isn't Howard its someone within the ON DEMAND comany Doug or whoever it doesn't matter but it makes Stern look bad because they are representative of him and should learn to know what the audience would like to see. Vomiting,Dicks and A transsexuals stump is not the top shelf. I would like to see pussy, pussy and more pussy these chicks get paid to fuck for a living its not like they are bashful. If they don't ride the Sybian naked Get them out of the studio. If they are banging themselves in the backroom you better bet i wanna see it. And if they are bashful/cunty fuckem don't let them come on the show. If i saw as much clam as was advertised i wouldn't care about the outrageous shit like Siobahn and ass bongs/Jeff the Vomit guy but i would prefer to see as much pussy as i do weird/Gay shit which right now IS NOT equal. At least Bubba likes pussy and as far as i can tell the picture that Howie's Camera crew paints is that staring at cock is cool and if it doesn't change by the Artie roast IM GHANDI.... Peace from Cali...

I was going to go to the movies on Friday when I realized it was going to cost $19 for 2 for a 2 hour movie. So instead I came home and ordered Howard TV for $14 and I've been watching it all weekend. I haven't been around long enough to see if this lasts, but it's certainly a much better value there than anything. Especially with TV reruns about to start, this is awesome.
whuckawazza
anyone with cable is a douchebag anyway.

htv blows and you can download them anyway.

Howard sure hyped the shit out of it though, fred cams, reality shows. all we get is cut aways to freds face when we should see penetration.

Doug said we are suppose to get 10 shows a week? No fucking way 10. Maybe 5-6 at most.

I think Im going to cancel for a few months till things get fixed up
snakes99
I just canceled after after 5 months and I have to say I feel like I finally got rid of a leech that was sucking me dry. It's not just the fact that the content was censored and limited in quantity, it's really the fact that HTV had been so hyped. Something also tells me that Howard still has no idea how poorly things have gone with HTV and Doug will never be fired for his poor producing skills. Doug will continue to bullshit us along with Howard until they start receiving more cancelations, then maybe Howard will look into the situation and realize what has been going on.
Sirius_Sam22
I really hate to bitch, but no way is there 40- or more hours of content each month.

1- Get rid of Best of week
2- Cable companies are definatly NOT updating
nor removing content correctly.

I have had the film festival clogging up my menu of shows for 3 good weeks now. I enjoyed it, but it seems like this small amount has been compensated for 20 true hours of content that WE really should be seeing last month.
Delta Force79
I've been debating if I should get HTV on top of paying for Sirius...and while I love the show...all of this negative feedback about HTV is really helping me make up my mind....I'll stick to listening to the radio and using my imagination

I'm surprised so many people are bashing HTV. Maybe the updates aren't as slow in the Bay Area as they are everywhere else. We do get 48-hour turnaround most of the time here.

Yes it's not totally uncensored, yes it's a little over-priced, but there is still a lot of content there -- the sibian, shock the puss/balls, ass-bongs, etc. That stuff is way better than the E shows. And if they keep putting up interesting old uncensored content (the small penis contest, various first appearances, etc.) then that also adds to the package.

If you pay $10 a month for HBO, how many hours a month do you actually watch? Sopranos, a few movies -- maybe 10-15 hours tops? I can watch that much HTV in a month. Even though I hear the whole Sirius show, some of the guests are fun to watch instead of just hear. (John Daly was a good example.)

I'm personally not a fan of Doug and agree that he could do a much better job. But I'm sticking with it for now. Maybe in a year I'll be bored of it. I suppose maybe a lot of cancellations are the only way to get them to re-focus and improve, but I want my HTV!

We've already discussed all of this. whats with the "nobody will talk about it" attitude? Another conspiracy theorist. We spoke to Doug on 2 occations about the HTV complaints.

HTV updates the shows regularly but unfortunately the local cable companies don't necessarily update their systems regularly. IMHO, it's a bad system and something needs to be done to ensure that the shows make it to the subscribers.

I don't know what repeated shows means but I'm assuming it again has to do with the shows not being updated.

as for censorship, you are a nut. it's the most uncensored thing they can put on cable. It's not a porn channel which means THEY CAN'T RUN PORN. if they could put more, they would. be happy with the shows they can put together. if you want someone dirtier grab a porno.

but i still feel we are justified in our complaints... i dont think the issue has been addressed at all.... Gary sorta mentioned it at the end of a wrapup show, but gave the standard "we arent a porno channel"..... fact is it is a pay service... there is no delination (is that the right word?) from porno channels to non-porno channels. if indemand has content restrictions, that should be addressed... dont tout the channel as uncensored, when in reality it is almost-uncensored
gofyaself
What is it with this "they can't show porn " crap. When has anyone asked for porn. All anyone is saying here is to treat the female nudity the same way you treat the male nudity. If you're going to show "High Pitch" masturbating in CLOSE-UP (which HTV DID), then shoot it the same way when a woman does it.

And if your going to CENSOR anything graphic dealing with the female anatomy then don't label the station as "EXPLICIT ADULTS ONLY CONTENT", which is used to justify a higher price.

They seem to want it both ways. They want the profits you can get from an "Adult Channel" but are afraid to use the editing standard that "Adult Channels" use.

No one can convince me that selling the "Machine Girls" and "Sybian" episodes the way were edited, as Stand-Alone episodes on a "PORN CHANNEL" (not on HTV) isn't taking advantage of consumers.

And what does Porn have to do with simly asking to shoot a nude woman in a manner where at least you can SEE her when you watch it.
FavresFriend
watching it less and less, takes to long for things I want to see on.. the censoring stuff is whack but doesn't bug me, I just don't think it will continue to be worth the money, but my girl pays the cable bill, its her only one, so maybe I should leave it....
gofyaself
And one more thing. It's not just the censorship. Look, yes I like the comedy and all the behind-the scenes stuff, but the main selling point for me was the uncensored nudity. Forget about the extent of how graphic it is or isn't.

The bottom line is, you're lucky if you see a FULLY NUDE WOMAN on an HTV daily show twice a month. This obviously isn't the fault of HTV. They can only put up what is being done on the show, and for whatever reason there is minimal female nudity on the radio show of late.

I would say that in the last 6 weeks or so there has been exactly one sexy segment that involved TOTAL NUDITY with a chick, that being the Gina Lynn segment. Everything else has been a porn star who remains clothed, or a porn star involved with puke. The sad truth is, you really do seem to see penis more often (and more graphically) than pussy.

If HTV just did two sexy segments per week (even only as a part of a daily show) I'd be happy. Do something like an evaluation episode (with total nudity), and a Sybian segment (similar to Gina Lynn) in any given week and I'd be more than happy. Bottom line is you VERY RARELY (as in once per month) see Total Female Nudity in a sexy segment on an HTV Daily Show.
MAGUSofHELLVIEW
i guess i failed to get our point across in my post to Mutt..... there is just a huge inconsistancy

oh well... doesnt seem like much we can do besides cancelling
waY2Kool
i didnt read through this whole thread, but it's obviously the right place to state - i, too, have cancelled my HSTV.

to be fair, i should also say that a week later i down-graded my cable package for the summer - to bare minimum. no use paying for crap we arent watching. it's too nice outside to sit in front of the tube.

but as for HSTV, there wasnt as much content as i hoped. and too much penis, for fuck sake. :skep: no thanks. i'll look back into resubscribing in the winter - if it's improved.
