I had an old PNP2 unit that I got for free back in 11/04 when Howard gave away the free radios in NYC in November '04. I had it set up in my car and had the home dock to use it in my house. I recently sold my car and was just going to use the PNP2 unit for my house (I already got the new starmate for my new car). However, the person I sold my car to wanted the Sirius so I gave it to them after the promised theyd use it.
So I went on ebay to buy a used PNP2 unit that I could keep in my house and not have to tranfer the unit from my car to my house. I bought ita used PNP2 unit from a company in CA and when I opened it, plugged it into my home base and the unit worked perfectly, even acquiring all the channels. I had figured I was going to have to call and activate the system for it to work.
Is it possible that I got a unit that somebody put a lifetime subsciption on and thats why it still works? I dont understand how im listening for free.
What do ya'll think?

It definetely has a subscription on it, whether is lifetime or not only time will tell. What you have to keep in mind is that if it is stolen, all the owner has to do is cancel the SID number of the unit and after that your radio will be nothing more than a brick.
Best of luck. |

| Most likely their radio was not turned on when they canceled their subscription, so the radio never received the deactivation signal from the satellite. Sirius sends these signals out periodically to catch radios like yours that are working but shouldn't be. If this is the case you will have about two week of use if you are lucky before it stops working. |
