Recently, I've started looking for a possible replacement for my aging Sony A/V receiver for my home entertainment system. Much to my chagrin, I see "XM Ready" receivers EVERYWHERE, but not a single "Sirius Ready" receiver.
Does anybody know what the deal with this is? This sucks that I can't pick up a high-end A/V receiver with Sirius. |

| I don't think there is a receiver that has sirius built in. I remember reading that XM receivers have the copy protection built in. It prevents an owner from recording music from them. Maybe that is why there aren't any. Nonetheless, you can buy a seperate receiver that will connect to any home system. |

It's better if you buy a Sirius home component unit like this one. It has optical digital output, so just get a receiver with optical inputs:

| I have a Kenwood DT-7000S, It's on all day/all night, optical out to my computer for recording. It does lock up but very rarely. I'm fairly sure it's when the satellite sends new channels, then it's a quick reboot. It has been nothing but a joy. The worst part about it, really, is that the display doesn't turn off and it used to keep my wife awake until I put a cover over the front of it. |
