Rebate Problems? - Click HERE to go to the original thread with graphics

I remember seeing a number of threads talking about how the rebate was a sham.

I bought a streamer in Jan and I received my rebate this week. It took some time but I got it. Are people still having problems getting their $$?
Pendulus Frenulum
Finally got mine- took 4 months but got it.
Scott114
They sent mine to the wrong address. They won't reissue it until they get the old one back, which is never going to happen so I think I'm out of luck.

Takes about 3 to 4 months They make you wait a amount of time to make sure you keep your subscription active.

Try this link and see if yours comes up

They lost mine. I mailed it out and made copies, and they said they never received it, nor would they honor copies. I don't think it's either a scam, I think just got way in over their heads. There's not a thing I can do about it either.

I got mine in about 5 weeks... no problem. Follow the directions for the rebate and I would say you are good to go.

It took 3 months for the rebate on my sportster replay to come. More than the 4-8 weeks stated.
ficklonni
It took a while, but I got mine.
JuicyPrincess
I sent mine in Dec. and got it last month.
RobbyRoo
Finally got my rebate today. :D

marrymealison
sent two on the same day back in december -- got one months ago and still waiting for the other...why???

Seriously, I'm about to cancel Sirius just because of this problem. I filled out the paperwork correctly and was supposed to get a $50 rebate.

They later sent me in the mail a flyer that I do not qualify. I e-mailed them and they said I did not follow the directions properly. Then I sent them the form and they said:

"Thanks for writing in to SIRIUS! We appreciate the time taken to
contact us regarding your $50 rebate inquiry. We understand the
frustration and concern this has caused. Let us help! Upon researching
your inquiry, we have found the same error as you stated, we have
forwarded this to the appropriate team for full review and approval.
Please allow 6-8 weeks for this to process. We apologize for the delay
and thank you for your patience."

Okay so yay, they said they are sending it.

Yesterday in the mail I get a check for $20! WTF?!?!

I e-mailed them with that response in it and asked if they were sending the rest of the money in another check.

Surprise surprise, I haven't gotten a response. Does anyone who works for Sirius log onto this site? I have spent way too much just to listen to Howard and now I've about had enough.

They sent me an e-mail a few weeks ago saying it was on the way, but so far nothing. :dontknow: I don't really care as the money will just go back to them for their wonderful service. ;)

I got mine radio in Jan and still haven't gotten my rebate.
omz
took about 4 months. they had spelled my name wrong, so i could never see my status on the website ;)
DevilDog
I spent more than half an hour on the phone with them in March because I supposedly filled out the incorrect form. They supposedly re-submitted the rebate, but I'm still waiting. I'll give them a few more weeks until I call and yell again...
SternFanInPgh
I got a postcard saying I didn't include the original or copy of something - but I knew I did. I called Sirius and they looked up my account ( I bought my radio thru the website) and they said no problem and within 2 days there was $50 deposited into my checking account. I work doing customer service and it's amazing what results you can get by placing a nice friendly phonecall :)

After reading these threads, I photocopied everything, including the bar code and then stapled the original barcode to the rebate form so that they wouldn't lose it. I then got the postcard that said that, since I didn't send in the orignial bar code that I wasn't eligible for the rebate. I just gave up, knowing that I'd never see that $50 again. I'm thinking that they were just way ib over their heads.
Hiduke73

I'm pretty sure that's what the postcard that I got said I was missing also. Why not give Sirius a call, they'll put your call thru to the rebate center. Toll-free number, you have nothing to lose right? :)
Dex44
Still didn't get mine.
arvs
Don't worry...it'll come. After their extended "wait period" I got mine...
MrMullen
It took me about 4 months to get my $20 rebate for my Sportster.
fever
Well I just called them they said mine was just posted and I should get mine soon.
slacker00
It took my $50 rebate 4 months.

Rebates in general simply suck. I've had problems with OfficeMax, Fuji, GPX as well as others. I keep telling myself that I will never do another rebate, but I keep getting sucked back in!
dcjispimp
Got mine today. It only took about a month.

ATTENTION - The rebate "issue" is not just a "Sirius" issue.
I sent in a $20.00 rebate for purchasing Norton Anti-Virus and Turbo Tax.
I received an e-mail a few weeks ago stating that it was received and being processed. This past Saturday I received a denial notice stating that the UPC was invalid - BULLSHIT!
So I called and spoke to a Rep. After being on hold for a few seconds, she came back on the phone and said that they will do a one-time courtesy to process the rebate....WTF!!?? The fucking UPC was directly from the box - no copies/reprints. I even included the ENTIRE bottom of the box, including the product name AND UPC so they couldn't mistake it for another company.
The whole rebate program is a fucking scam. If it's for a couple of bucks, it will get processed. But for $10, $20, and up, chances are they will deny you for some BS reason hoping you don't call to complain. If you do call, you will most likely get the "one time courtesy" line of BS I got.
I am thinking of reporting it to our state's Attorney General Richard Blumenthal; he doesn't put up with this kind of crap.
Of course I probably won't.....unless I don't get my rebate in 4-6 weeks.....
BTW - I was denied on my Sirius rebate last July stating my unit (heh, I said unit) was not eligible; I never followed up. That was my fault.
lisa22222
6 months still no rebate----just 1 card and 2 calls to them..:((

Similar happened to me. I had to call them to find out. Sirius said I didn't include the UPC from the box. I did the same, sent practically the entire box so it couldn't be missed. I thought that was lame. Plus, their automated system with the voice recognition to try to get you to self service your call blows!

Got my Symantec rebate the other day!!
sXeChic
I've always gotten all the rebates I've sent in, even with Symantec. Sirius tried to bullshit me as long as they could. Finally I told them that I will be contacting the BBB about them and suddenly they instantly issued me a credit on my card for $32.95 and prior they sent only $20 on my $50 rebate. So I actually got $52.95 once they realized I'm not going to take their crap. They love to lie and say we messed up when it's their fault and they don't read the fine print.

Never give up and bring up how you will report them. If you allow them to rip you off, they won.
