I called Comcast 3 times now, first time to order was told 9.99 a month said fine set me up with it. In on demand section under premium channels i see stern i go in and no matter what show i try to watch it says error code 224, I call back 2 more times its not working, I can't view the shows, the third time i spoke with a supervisor.
Each call has taken over 20 mins on HOLD to explain its not working and each time they said they have to hit the box let it redownload and it should work within 30-60 mins, each time they do that and i wait it doesn't work.
Even talked to a supervisor on last call who again assured me it wasnt a hardware issue box is fine they say, but that it WILL redownload and work soon after the hit, he said give it upto 24 hours! Well I did now on day 3 since last call nothing working, other on demand stuff works fine, even premium channel stuff for HBO and SHOWTIME (both of which i also subscribe to) work fine and I can view any of their shows no problem.
I have no idea why this isn't working for me, i see listings i try them and all give that error code 224 that comcast says requires a box rehit and redownload, yet each time they do it nothing changes and I still cant get in or watch stern stuff on demand.
Again all other on demand stuff works fine (at least what i pay for) and on phone i have confirmed ok its ON my account right i should be able to view, they say yes and this hit will fix it etc etc and its a retarded cycle of nothing.
I am ready to just tell them to come get their damn box and cancel digital, (got digitial box for on demand and added showtime and hbo for real sports, sopranos and showtime for penn and teller family business etc etc
And of course i added stern for FUN yet that doesnt work for me no matter what I do or try, even went in and made sure there were no locks or settings preventing me from viewing it, nothing, and each rehit wipes all pin codes and such out anyways, anyone at all have this problem and if so how the heck did you get it fixed?
I hate comcast.

maybe you can try exchanging your box anyway?
all my analog cable channels were coming in fuzzy, they kept telling me it wasn't the box.... then I just took the box in and exchanged it at the comcast office myself, the new one worked perfectly.. the people that work there are usually a bunch of kids that dont know what the hell theyre talking about |

| I think it must be your box. Can't think of anything else. Exchange it and see what happens. |

| I agree you need to try a new box first(pick it up yourself). If that doesn't work than a technician is going to have to come out to your place to check things out. |

| Check to make sure that if you have any cable splitters within the house they are tightened securely. Also possbile you have a bad splittter. |

I do have a splitter for picture-in-picture.... but the guy at Comcast Boston says that they don't have the Film Festival stuff on their end either.
And I've had the splitter on since February... |

Same thing happened to me when I signed up with Comcast in November.
It worked for 2 days, and then I kept getting that code. I had people come out, was on the phone multiple times, and no one could figure it out. They told me they would just credit my account and keep working on it.
So, about 25 days later it started working. I didn't care because I wasn't paying, but yeah it was messed up. |
