The Beer League trailer was killer.

Oh crap, I just whalespouted to the clip of the Artie pig running away from the bank placing bets in the rejected films montage. "69-69, Fat Fuck. Ten grand on the Giants with the over. Fiiyaaah!"
thermovox
holy shit, this episode is massive!
SteelRat
I didn't think they were going to stick it all in one episode. Thank God for stop and resume! :)

That was really cool seeing the whole festival! I thought it might be truncated, but they seemed to show the entire festival from Red Peters through the end. It was a little annoying that the staff films and finalists were all inserted, since I've already watched them all on their own. But I fast-forwarded, and I guess people might have complained if they weren't included.

There was also some red carpet and preshow footage, but not Sal and Richard's warmup. Mutt mentioned coverage of the afterparty, SFRT and Wrapup, but this episode ended once they were done in the theater. Will there be more footage coming with the stuff after the festival?

Yeah, all in all it was great - but come on, at least split it up into parts. I couldn't watch it all in one sitting (153 minutes - dang), so fast forwarding through everything to watch the last 20 minutes kind of sucked. That, and Beer league looks, um, bad :(

Well, it's nice to know someone is able to see it. I have nothing new since the Sal and Richard Sybian ride. Oh well, I'll keep checking. Later

Yeah i agree re: the inclusion of staff and finalist entries. everyone seen them already. I do understand the argument to keep them in tho. I was really looking forward to afterparty, SFRT and wrapup show footage :(

THIS HUGE EPISODE STUNK!

NO FOOTAGE OF REV BOB EATING BLUE CHEESE OUT OF ASS!
NO AFTER PARTY, SRFT, WRAP UP SHOW FOOTAGE WHAT SO EVER!

BASICALLY ANOTHER WAY TO RE-AIR THE STAFF AND FINALISTS FILMS!

FAST FOWARDED THROUGH 90 % OF IT, I WAS EXPECTING MORE!

ONLY PART WORTH WATCHING IS ARTIE'S BEER LEAGUE TRAILER

Overall, I was disappointed with the presentation of the Film Festival. It looked like they had a couple of ideas that they should've expanded on. I was hoping for a typical award show coverage, only with a Howard Stern Show attitude and humor. Instaid, it was just half-assed.

Everyone has watched an award show, and we all have come to expect a certain style. I would've liked to have seen the Film Festival coverage broken down into segments like this:

1. Choosing the Top 9
A short (20 minutes) show about sifting through all of the entries and selecting the finalists. Also, an expanded version of the clip montage that was shown at the festival.

2. Planning the Event
30 minute show focusing on the entire planning process. Everything from choosing the theater, choosing the judges, and deciding upon the pre-show entertainment. Brief interviews with Doug and the Howard TV crew, as well as with the judges.

3. Build-Up
15-20 minutes of clips of the crew discussing it on the show, coverage of the attention from outside media sources, interview of people involved and people excited about it.

4. Red Carpet Coverage
35 minutes of Jon Hein and Drag Queen Joan Rivers coverage of the Red Carpet arrivals. This should be filmed and presented similar to the way E! used to do their Oscar coverage.

5. Pre-Show
35 minutes. All of the opening acts and mayhem that happened in the theater before the main show started. Brief interviews, talk with fans, words from Artie, etc. end with Red Peters.

6. Main Show
65 minutes. I think the presentation of the main show could've been edited down, and condensed. We didn't need to actually watch all of the fan films and staff films again. We've had them available On Demand for the past month. Including all of the films AGAIN, shows lack of vision and lack of understanding about what Howard TV/On Demand is all about.

7. Post Show
15-20 minutes. A post show wrap and quick interview with the winners. Model this after what MTV does on their post award shows. Pick a couple of staff members or whomever (Gary Garver maybe?) to ask the basic questions, as well as some funny ones mixed in.

8. After Party
35 minutes. Full coverage, and a "you are there" type of feel to what went on at the After Party. Mix in the Double A controversy footage, as well as all of the drunk people.

That's basically what I would've liked to have seen on the Film Festival coverage. Not just a half-assed edit of everything stuffed into a massive episode.

It took me 15 minutes to think about and write up this e-mail. The fact that these ideas and presentation style are so easy to think of, makes me wonder how little thought went into how the Film Festival was going to be presented on Howard TV.

It's stupid that they cut out the whole Richard, Sal and Bob Levy intro in the beginning.

I was there that night and they should have shown a lot more and definitely edited out all the films. They should have at least kept the fan responses after they showed it. After they showed the "Blood on the Tissues" the video fucked up and the crowd was yelling "Scott!" and even Artie came out to do a 2 min monologue in between - why cut that out!!??
