I have the Sportster Replay. The unit was purchased in October 2005 and slowly over half of the display lights died. Called CS and got the claim # etc., and was told 7-10 "business days" before I get a replacement....this sucks!

A four-hour commute each day without Howard .... its like being out of dope! George Carlin once quipped years ago, "a day without dope is like....night!"

Anyone else have this problem with the Sportster Replay?

Also, anyone else ever have to warranty a radio? Did you get it back when they said you would? Did you have to pay any money, other than the shipping to get the unit back to them?

I would like to hear your experiences ...... thanks.

sirius radios really suck--if only howard had signed with XM we would all have portables

I had the same issue, they took 3 weeks, but I sent in just the radio and they gave me a new sportster with and extra car kit.

This is not good news. I had to mail in my Exact XTR I purchased in February last week. I hope to hell I get it back before my Sportster goes bad :(

GET THE WARRANTY. YOU CAN GET A RADIO THE SAME DAY AT THE STORE YOU PURCHASED IT.

I warrantied mine last month, bought it in December, Starmate Replay. The power receptacle on the unit broke off. But I jest went back to where I got it and they gave me a new one. No problem.

I have the sportster Replay and I have not had a problem with it. It works very well indeed and I'm knocking wood right now thankful that Howard did not sign with XM, their shit is just as bad.

I have a sportster replay. Bought it in August 05 and haven't had any problems (unless you count "acquiring signal" days like today).

My starmate st1 crapped after about 3 months. I got it from radio shack and it was easier and faster just to buy a new one than warranty it. I got my new one and I'm just gonna mail the bad one in myself.
