Fucking piece of shit!!! I knew this day would come. Whenever I unplug the antenna from my starmate its like pulling teeth. Well today when I pulled it out the fucking coupling stayed in the radio and all I had was a fucking wire! I tried to shove it back into the the harness but its still not working. Lousy crappy low grade shit. 5 month lifespand!?!? What the fuck.

Timmy, why do you frighten me so? :(

I have a starmate, and I know exactly the wire you mean...the one with the cylinder silver thing on it. I'm just thankful for every day I have before this thing shits out.

Pull the plug, not the wire.

F Timmy's dead rotten antenna
gribnack
do you have a starmate? i've had similar problems with the antenna
Froggy
get an antenna from someone who still has an XM radio. The antenna and band is the same - they work interchangably (I use which ever one is closest to me at the time.)

Since I can't get reception at the office, I stopped using the "plug'n'play" function of my Starmate, Timmy, for that very reason.

The wear and tear of "plug'n'play" was too much for my first unit (a Kenwood); the car antenna is permanently attached -- so after a couple of temperamental moments trying to disconnect one antenna for another on my Starmate, I won't do it unless I have a serious road trip to make it worth it.
Timmy
Shit. Spiltn a Starmate from its antenna is like splittin a dog knot (Is that what Richard called it)

My car antenna separates much easier.
Timmy
Ive noticed the local stores now have plenty of Sirius products. But my last set up cost me $30. For a lousy antenna a cheap ass holder that looks as if it were made in a high school metal shop.

URGE TO KILL..,.........RISING!!!

hahaha A dog knot. That still cracks me up!

Yeah my audio warned me about moving that around and the wear and tear. He talked me into the sporster and its been all good.

Shamela -

I just did a review of the s50 (http://www.bigpicturebigsound.com/s...ite-radio.shtml) and Sirius gave me a faulty antenna. I couldn't get reception from my office, and I work in midtown Manhattan.

Once they swapped it out for a working antenna, I was able to get 100% terrestrial signal and between 25-50% satellite - from my cube, which is not even bordering the windows.

I am still waiting for the Stern web stream, though...
trotzo
