Here's a link to a forum where you can download a couple of programs to get your cell phone to stream Sirius via your data plan. I'm on Sprint and have a PPC 6700 with the unlimited EVDO data plan and it works great for me. It's just like streaming it online from your computer. The author of the program will be updating it when Howard starts streaming online so we can get Howard on our cell phones. It's an awesome app. Here's the link...

The author wants feedback to make it even better, so enjoy and rock on with
Sirius!

NOTE: The .NET framework download is on page 1 of the thread, but the latest version of the Sirius download is on page 7 or 8 depending on if you want the full or lite version.

Are they planning on making this easier to get Sirius on your cell phone? The articles I have found all date back to June 2005!

Anyone have an update on Sirius on cell phones? I know that Sprint has some channels but I don't believe Howard is available on it yet.

I posted yesterday with similar information. I have a XV6700 (Verizon Wireless' version of the 6700) and have been using SiriusCE for a couple of weeks now to stream Sirius to my phone.

It's great...no need to purchase a portable unit.

Information on the FREE software and the actual software can be found at:

http://www.emulamer.com/SiriuCE.html

I highly recommend it...really worth it. I'd get it before the developer finds out how good it is and starts to charge for it.

It doesn't really drain the battery too badly either.

I've tried it on both Sprint's and Verizon Wireless' network and have found that it works much better on the VzW network.

VzW uses the EV-DO technology and has the service across the country...really great service and Stern comes in great on this phone. I believe you can also run it on the Treo 700W from VzW...as well as the new Motorola Q.

The one I wrote (link below) works on PPC and SmartPhones. I believe SiruCE works only on PPC.

The channel list has all avaialble streaming channels. If they add additional channels online, you can edit the Channels.txt file to grab them or download the update from my site.

I was unable to get it on my bluetooth headset with the phone...I think the phone only recognizes my headset as a headset and not as a stereo headphone.

Yes, you need to get BT headphones. I use the Logitech headphones. Dell sells them for around $80.

will this work with a Treo 700p cell phone for verizon?

To get audio to your BT, try the files in this link.

BT Audio Toggle

I am not very familiar with your model phone... but my guess would be your phone does not have A2DP. Hence your stereo headphones not operating as stereo headphones.
