First Casualties At Howard 100 News --
Howard 100 News Reporters Let Go. 06/01/06. 9:00pm
MarksFriggin.com has learned that a few reporters (three) from Howard 100 News have been let go as of May 31st due to budgetary reasons. This comes not long after Howard 100 News changed formats from two one hour slots per day to very short reports each hour, all day long. It would appear that they're slowly phasing out one of my personal favorite 'shows' on Howard 100.

Shuli has been doing Ferral, etc. Maybe they moved him "full time" to the other show projects.
I liked Flowers until he seemingly called Artie down one day about making racial statements (Flowers is married to a blaek). It was kind of like he put himself above the ball busting that goes on during the show. |

Naw, George is safe. I think one of the reasons Howard likes him so much is because he's such a straight arrow. |

Why should they be dumping money into something that sucks?
Really now H100 News is sorta funny the first time you hear it, but lets not kid ourselves, Its pure shit. They can use the money they will now save and do something much better with it.

i've not heard the news except for bits & pieces from filesharing, but i remember her from WPIX and never thought she was all that good as a reporter. her mini-meltdown on inDemand was no good either. she'd be better off doing a weekly show about shit, fluff and such. if howard wants an actual news dept., & wants an old nyc broad involved lynn samuels would kick serious ass. |

The problem was (at least as I saw it), they didn't report on things we wanted to know about. The History of the Stern show being pulled, Danny Bonaduce negotiations, details involving the CBS lawsuit, etc. They skipped over (or didn't delve far enough into) stories of interest and did stupid pieces about tatoos and dumb shit instead.
I'm not blaming them entirely. Though Howard said they would have free reign and be able to report on anything, it was obvious that wasn't the case. They were more of a Howard infomercial than a news broadcast.
I think the whole concept was fucked up from the beginning. It should have been presented as a goof (an obvious goof) and not meant to be serious in any way. Howard tried to present them as legitimate, uncensored and free to report on anything they wanted. It should have been something more along the lines of the old Weekend Updates on SNL (if anything at all).
Nice try. Back to the drawing board.
As for looking good on their resumes, I doubt it. Any serious news group may hold working for Howard against them. And what they did, didn't really translate as a quality news broadcast. |

It was cool to have prior to 1/9/06, but once the main show started combined with the wrap up show, the Friday show, and the roundtable’s we’re already getting way more info on all things stupid than we need! Now if the news were given “true” freedom maybe people would give a shit, but as of now it’s just b.s. filler with little to no merit. |

He's a pretty talented comic-- he does some great impressions. His material is always funny on the roasts, and during the Win John's Job he was impressive, even though he didn't place too high-- deffinately underratted. Probably the ones that got let go are the ones we don't hear of often (although I wish it was Penny, she's my least favorite of all on air talent) |

This "news" is completely worthless - today, I got to hear how Scott the engineer's computer printer broke, and he was having a bad day. Earth shattering stuff, indeed. What makes it worse is the "news" breaks today were talking about old news related to the old replays that were playing. It's time to axe the news altogether, no one cares about it anymore. |

| The news was overstaffed when 01/09/06 came around. Howard 100 doesn't need people with real news backgrounds, it needs comedians that know the show. George Flowers is only entertaining when Howard picks apart his personal background. |

yeah, the novelty has worn off-- any "real" news in the world of Howard Stern will be covered by Robin anyways-- noone cares about Pet Peeves, and who farts the loudest-- there comes a point where it's just too much information
go with:
1) The Show-- best entertainment EVER, EVER, EVER-- replay it often-- I always miss parts, and hearing some of it 3 times is still funnier then anything else
2) The Wrap Up Show-- nice apertif, well done conclusion
3) Friday Show-- a necessary evil, but well done, especially the retro stuff
4) SFRT-- once a week, depending upon the guests, can be a great addition for the obssessive
5) Specialty shows-- like Riley, the potential Joey Boots Show, maybe a game show, try different things see what works
86 the following:
1) The Intern Show-- worthless for the same reasons as the news
2) The News (see above)
3) while you're at it, get rid of Bubba-- he's way too one level, unsophisticated, in your face, overmodulated dribble
4) Farrell-- unless he takes a cough drop, I actually like him ok, but his voice hurts me to listen to
5) Miserable Men-- ran it's course, nothing Tom Lickeis doesn't cover

makes sense...cause it was too top heavy for the brief 10 minute segments the news does now. howard got over ambitious with his idea and budget cause a whole news team to cover a four hour show! doesn't make any sense.
i would say shuli has to be out because he isn't a news person which would be great cause his sign off blows. |

the only time ive ever tuned away from H100 was when the news was on. it seems dumb to site 'budget problems' even if it is true. thats no good for our stock.
the news sucks and very few people could tollerate it is the real reason anyways. |

shuli is lame on ferrall's show cause all he does is stern show impression. one show he was just trying to do jeff the drunk the whole time...and i don't listen to ferrall to hear a stern show replay or hear the guys who are desperate to be on howard's show so will take anything connected with howard 100/101...like shuli & rev. bob.
i want ferrall to do stuff unique to him...he has the talent and insanity.
shuli could be good if he didn't try so hard on ferrall's show and didn't give us all the jokes and impressions he wished he could do on howards. just be yourself...and forget the stern show for a second. |

| I think one of the two women (Erica or Michelle) was about to start a family so whichever one of them it was is probably out. I would also think that Ralph Howard was gone too since his primary gig was the mid day news. Probably Mike Piaza as well. |
