Anyone know about this thing? Howard's been talking about it coming out in the next couple of months.
I want to get a second unit, but I dislike the S50. It's slow and laggy, and frankly not worth the money. Right now, I have a Sportster Replay and I love it, and before I buy another one, I'd like to see what's coming down the Pike.
Anyone know about it? |

Looks like CNET has given us a photo of the upcoming Zing Wi-Fi MP3 Player - this very well could be the first actual glimpse we get at the new SIRIUS Wearable device - or at least something close to it.
Pictured above is the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled Zing prototype shown at D4. These "Wi-Fi Radios" have the ability to share music among friends, download music and upload data, and of course features a Buy Button (via Yahoo). There's also push-to-talk functionality via a Wi-Fi network as the device has a built-in speaker and microphone.
CNET makes it quite clear - the device allows you to stream SIRIUS content over a Wi-Fi network - not satellite. And state that the first Zing-powered players should ship this year, carrying the Sirius brand.
Connect the dots.

| Fuck that Buy Button Bullshit. You should be able to record whatever you want from the stream. |

How the fuck will that little thing catch a signal? My antenna is bigger than that and I still cant get a good feed.
Is it live Sirius, or a recorder. |

| Just to note, the Zing player may or may not be the live portable we've been hearing so much about. However, it will certainly be interesting to hear all of the specs on the Zing player once Sirius decides to release some info. |

| The term "wearable" kinda worries me. I imagine having to "wear" a backpack antenna source. Or some giant dish on my head. |

| That cocksucking s100 better be able to just drop into my s50's cradle, I paid a shitload for that equipment, & would be really pissed if the 100 didn't integrate into the 50's port's. |

| Is the S100 really happening? I thought that was just speculation? |

www.siriusbackstage.com has a bunch of articles on the new live portable and WiFi units that are coming out soon.
I can't wait to see how the live portable works out. It seems like there were a lot of people waiting to get Sirius til they had a live portable unit. I know I want one. :D |
