The season's just around the corner. Who do you like and why???

I'm from LA. We don't have a team, so I'm in limbo until we steal one from another city.

I root for Tampa Bay cause Chucky is the shit, and I have always liked them since those ugly orange uniform days. I will keep my eye on Arizona this year, look for a breakout season..

I think The Steelers will be tough again, as long as Big Ben remembers to wear his helmet on the field..

I think the NFC is still the weaker conference, but the Seahawks look to be the class of the NFC again. Could we have a rematch in the Superbowl????

Lets get the shit talking started!!!!!!!!!! :realmad:
Get your picks in now!!!!

thank you for starting this thread davidleeralph, I still can't start threads due to the fucking 30/30 rule, however I am close to being done with that. Anyways I know I am going to catch a lot of shit by saying this, but fuck it, I am gonna stand by my boys, I say that the New york Jets are gonna be title contenders within 2 years. As far as this year is concerned I will go with my home state team to win the superbowl, that being the carolina panthers! :nixon:
gotham44
I think it will be Indy and Carolina in the Superbowl,

Cant wait for Cleveland to win the Superbowl  .

I think Miami will be a sleeper and go farther than people think.

I am expecting the arizona cardinals to have a break out season, Miami will be better, however I still hope the jets smoke their asses. I really hope reggie bush does well in new orleans, he is fucking awsome. I hope mario williams flops in houston. I don't like houston anyway, however passing on bush was the biggest fuckup ever in the history of sports, thank you houston texans for making even more fucked up decisions than my jets have in past drafts, at least now we will only be second on that list. :D

Bengals vs Panthers??????????? I don't know about that. Palmer may not be the same after that knee injury, though I do like the way they played last year. We'll see.

As for the Vikings, I don't see how a team that can't run, pass or play defence can even get to the playoffs.

:mebeer:
SDLaw06
The Bengals don't ahve the luxury of a cupcake schedule this season, so they won't contend. The colts will be a shadow of former glory without edgerrin james and an aging marvin harrison. The Pats on the decline, the dolphins on the rise. As far as the NFC the Seahawks are overrated, Artie could run for a NFL record in the NFC West. I say Steelers and Panthers in the SB.
djsmoke
Don't be so quick to put the steelers back in the superbowl just yet. You gotta keep in mind that bettis is gone, and yes I know he wasn't the starter, but he was a very good motivator. secondly, they lost one of their best receivers, and on top of that, rothlisburger is still a question due to his injuries. I agree with you saying the panthers will be there, however someone else from the afc will probably be there in place of pittsburgh.

I know it's crazy, and I have no aspirations of a playoff appearance, but with Larry Allen anchoring the line and Vernon Davis giving Alex Smith a new target it should start getting a little better!

Panthers for sure there just way to deep on both sides of the ball
KillerPrawns
Panthers, Seahawks look to be the class of the NFC...Tampa could surprise some people and AZ will put up big points...AFC is fairly wide open with several teams that could make a run - Pittsburgh, Indy, Denver, PAts in the mix if they can run the ball, but Dillion isn't getting any younger...Cincy is good, but Palmer is the big ? mark...I hate to say this as a Raiders fan, but KC could be trouble if the defense shows any sign of improving...Larry Johnso will have a monster year...FYI, for those that get the NFL ticket, I called Direct TV the other day to complain about all the great deals they are offering new subscribers (I've been getting the ticket for 5 years) and they took $100 bucks off my bill, so that was sweet...if you've been a customer, just call them and inquire about what they can do for long time subscribers and they should hook you up...are you ready for some football...

I'm a little biased being from 40 min from n'awlins, but I think the Saints will turn it around this year....maybe not be in the super bowl, but definitely better than they were under Haslett. With Peyton being a Parcells protege, he wont lose the locker room like Haslett did, and with an upgrade at QB they should be better....although the D is still a huge liability.

Denver-Seattle.

And I'm not being a homer.

Seattle is much improved on defense this year. The secondary with a healthy Hamlin will make it such we don't have a third stringer like Pruitt playing in the superbowl .

Carolina is very good. Remember we beat them 34-14 in the NFC championship game. Though they do have Keyshawn this year.

I think Indy making it is a long shot. Pittsburgh having lost Chris Hope, Antwaan Randle El, Kimo von Oelhoffen is not as good a team as they were last year. NE lost a lot of players but really didn't make some good acquisitions.

I watched every Dolphins game with Brian Grease and I thought he was a big pick up for the Fins when he came over from Denver. I leaned he is a fucking SHITBALL who throws like a fag. If the Bears have any chance it will be with Rex Grosmen and a strong defence. If there is any justice in the world Brian Grease will get buthole cancer so he can't do what he really loves, which is getting a hard cockin the ass.

I think that the Dolphins will be great this season as long as Joey Harrington doesn't fuck it up until Daunte Culpepper starts. The NFC North is going to suck this season, every team including the Lions has a chance of winning the division. The division winner will be lucky to finish the season 8-8. It won't matter because the winner will lose to a wild card team.
beshriver
i'm a 49ers fan...but they aren't doing shit this year...farrell said they could squeeze out 6...my money is on dallas...bledsoe to T.O. all day long as long as thier line holds up...that and a weak schedule make them a lock for the playoffs anyway.
phillyballer

The cowboys lost 7 games last year, 5 of them by less than seven points. With T.G. and T.O. on the outside and witten and fasano working the inside and julius jones and marion barber running the ball, I see at least a 4 game improvment. With vanderjagt signed they have an kicker they can count on(I hope). The offensive line is my only concern this year. Our defense is amoung the youngest in the league and only getting better.

Go Cowboys

This was a joke right?? I mean you really were'nt serious about these two guys leading you far, where you?? What are you going to do after 8 games into the season and they are both hurt???
Hey Now MoFo
Steelers beat the Panthers in the Super bowl. No one is talking aboutl the Eagles, now I am not saying they going to the big dance but they could make some noise.
And as always Cowboys SUCK.

Okay this is my last post as a jr member under the goddamn 30/30 rule so let me school you motherfuckers in some football.

1. Pittsburgh is not a dynasty, hasn't been since the 70's. Big ben was awsome last year, however that crash probably did more damage that people realize. Take it from me a diehard jets fan, when your qb gets hurt seriously, don't get your hopes too high, wait and see. I foresee the steelers making the playoffs and getting knocked out in the first round given that ben comes back healthy, otherwise no playoffs.

2. The giants, that is a fucking joke, Eli and his brother are both notorious choke artists, I see the new york giants losing in the wild card.

3. Indianapolis is done, peyton and harrison are great in non meaningful games, however with no running game and both manning and harrison getting older it is over in indy. Plus as I stated about his brother above, peyton is the biggest choke artist ever to play, he will never win a title, he is this generations dan marino, all stats with nothing to show for it.

4. My mother is a die hard bears fan, so I will take it easy on you guys and just say that the bears will be in the playoffs, however I believe they are still a few years away from getting back to the super bowl, they need more depth, and a few more offensive stars.

5. My team, the J-E-T-S, we are probably gonna miss the playoffs this year. However as I stated in a previous post, I say within two years we are back in contention for a title. With Mangini at the helm, and a young team with massive amounts of talent, we are gonna be really good, and sooner than most people think.

I'm not into sack licking but thank you anyway.

I was gonna give you shit for calling me a dumbfuck, but I read that a few others agreed with me, so I don't feel so dumb..(Thanks to picksforartie and manchowder)

Rex Grossman is a pretty good QB. But he needs to stay healthy or it wont matter. As for Griese, I wont even comment on him.... Ok.... He really sucks..

For the record, I have always liked the Bears. I think they have the best defence in football, but you gotta put up points if you wanna win. Until they prove they can do that on a regular basis, they wont go far......

Brian Griese,,, that was really funny :jj: :jj: :jj:

Rex Grossman is the chicago version of Chad Pennington, I hope the guy can stay healthy for bears fan's sake. I totally understand what your going through! :(

Brian Griese is not that bad, where do you guys come off with all this Brian Griese is the worst qb in the nfl talk? He has a career 85 qb rating and 63% completion percentage. I'll take that any day over the qbs we have had over the last decade. He is a good backup shall Grossman go down, I am not saying he is Tom Brady or Peyton Manning but you don't need a qb like those guys to win in the nfl. Sure it helps but with our running game and defense we don't need stellar qb play, just decent play. :)
davidleeralph
Lets get off this Brian Griese conversation and move to players that will astound us with thier play or their mouth....

Any T.O. pridictions. I say he actually keeps it together this year and plays the whole season... Next year is a different story......

Not deep enough with Seneca Wallace is the backing up Hasselbeck. The 3rd stringer? Greene is green.

I fear a prolonged injury to Matt? Good bye season.

I would love to see the Bengals in the bowl this year! they had a pretty good season last year, hopefully they will be just as good or even better this year! but heart is with the EAGLES! i love them win or lose! T.O. was good, but too damn cocky, Dallas can have him! I;m really looking forward to seeing more of Ryan Moats this year!

if they dont find a real good receiver they might be in trouble, although mcnabb has taken them to the championship three years without a receiving core but the league has gotten alot better since then.
lenmac31
I like Dallas
I believe this will be parcells last year so he is going to tolerate TO
If they get bledsoe time their ofense should do very well

In the AFC
I like Baltimore-- Mcnair plus that defense will surprise

"Too Cocky" What does that have to do with playing football. He's been cocky since he got into the league. All that guy does is put up HUGE numbers!!

If Bledsoe can still through the ball more than 25 yards down field, TO is gonna light 'em up in big D.. He can't be stopped.

As for the Eagle's flying this year.... don't hold your breath. Last year was a preview of the future for them.........

I don't really care for either of these teams, but I think it will be the Broncos vs Panthers. I hope I live long enough to see the Brown's make it some day.
