I found this over at orbitcast.com. Looks like Howard and Sirius have a nice marketing campaign set up for the Christmas season. Noice...

Howard Stern "Mobilized" for SIRIUS Marketing
Howard Stern will be available to SIRIUS Satellite Radio without any contractual restrictions for an aggressive fourth quarter marketing campaign, and Mel Karmazin intends on using him.
"Howard Stern is mobilized for an aggressive campaign in the fourth quarter for Howard to bring on some of the fans that he had, that have not yet made the conversion to satellite radio. So unlike last year in the fourth quarter, we did not have Howard Stern officially selling for us. This year we will have Howard selling for us."
While he didn't specify exactly what Howard will be doing, Mel did turn up the hype-machine with:
"This will be the first holiday season... where the best salesman on radio is going to be selling subscribers for us."
While Howard hardly sat idly by in promoting his move to satellite radio in 2005, there's little doubt that Stern will be an integral part of SIRIUS' holiday season promotions.

Hey troll...thanks for the bump.

What they ought to do is allow non-subscribers to listen to howard's stream free for a week in November and another week in December and promote the hell out of it. You get a few million non-subscribers listening online for a while and watch how many of them go out and buy a Sirius radio.

This actually would be an opportunity for Howard to employ the out-of-work wack-packers.

Have them do crazy street theater shit in cities and towns like a travelling road show. Put them on the road for a month and broadcast in 20-30 markets he has never been in and have HTV film it.

Have Nicole Bass pose, Jeff in a drinking contest, it would be a fucking scream.

The terrestrial Howard was great! The satellite Howard is off the hook!!
yeah
I'd like to see Howard infecting all kinds of other media to promote.

Throw 'im back on Letterman, put 'im on every damn talk show available

One thing I've always really appreciated about Howard Stern is his ability to INTERVIEW THE INTERVIEWER.

On every fuckin show he goes on, suddenly the person who was supposed to be asking HIM questions is backed into a corner admitting they like blowjobs or whatever lol its fuckin great we need more!!

That an interesting idea. That might work except Sirius would have limited bandwidth for streaming. The idea sounds great in theory but how pissed off would everyone be if the stream crashed for those two weeks? I have to figure both subs and nonsubs alike would be ticked which…well in a way it could generate some publicity but is it the type they want? I do have to think that previous listeners would be very likely to sign up if they heard the new show but at what cost would this be to Sirius just to make it happen? I'm not taking a shit on your idea, just wondering how they would pull it off.

He was selling Ehh Eh Ehhh last year.

I think Letterman is a given but the only problem is he has done that several times before. I guess one thing that would make it different is a Howard, Fred, Robin and Artie all on Letterman at the same time.

What about Howard on Letterman and Evil Dave sneaking in unannounced? That has a lot of potential but probably would never be allowed. LOL
loveuhowie
bout time.. if howard was doing tv commercials subs would be 10 mil in no time

I can't wait for some Howard commercials....and I'm glad to be part of the original revolution!! The second wave of subscribers just won't be as fun. Think of all that they've missed already!
Die Already
Thats good that Howard is gonna sell himself like that....he's been funny as fuck!!!

I just hope he goes on Letterman and other shows and shows off his comedic wit........... i saw last year that he was going on shows and being all serious and pretty boring. If i wasnt familiar with Howard's show and saw Howard promoting SIRIUS or his move to Sirius last year, i would of been like "that guy is boring and just yaps nothing".

Get back to the crazyness HOWARD!!! Lesbians , midgets, wackpackers....... i know the acts of lesbians has been done many times before and he feels like its tired, but how about instead of taking out hot lesbians with you...... RAPPIN' GRANNY and BLUE IRIS in G-Strings escorting you out on Letterman? heh.

I am very interested in seeing what Howard and Sirius do next. I agree with you on how much new subs have already missed but then again I didn’t listen to Howard from the start and I love him just the same.

I was thinking of getting satellite radio when Howard was talking about it. I would probably have gone with XM but once Howard made the announcement I was sold. I purchased Sirius within a couple of days and have never looked back. Now I have Howard, Bubba, Ferrall, Buzzsaw, Octane, Hair Nation, Faction and Hard Attack ontop of the other stations I listen to. I now mostly listen to Sirius 14 to 18 hours a say and have a hard time remembering what radio is like without it.

If only Howard would come back to the SF Bay Area to promote Sirius or anything! The Miss America signing was the biggest appearence ever in SF! 10-15K fans waited & partied in line all day...COME BACK SOON Howard! ;)

Bubba has done a few signings here and there and received a good very turnout for someone who’s been off the air for two years and on a medium relatively new medium. Sometimes I wonder if Howard and Sirius aren’t using him as a testbed and will now plan some sort of west coast appearance given the decent audience Bubba has received. I would think LA would be Howard’s non east coast appearance but who knows. Then again Howard is getting more settled in these as he gets older and may not be as interested in something like the book signings?

Hope fully the promoting will be somewhere other than hyping himself every morning on the show

Sirius now offers 3 day free online streaming to all non-subscribers.

Howard should go on QVC and create infomercials as he has suggested.
sternfan73
if he goes on talk shows he should be the relaxed howard that he is now.i feel that more people will warm up to him now than in the past.

I haven’t tried the free stream in a couple of years but are you sure Howard 100 and 101 are on it?

You're absolutely right. They need to stop promoting him to satellite subscribers who have already subscribed to satellite :D It's such a waste of time. They need to focus on reaching his previous listeners by giving them a taste of Sirius content. Many of these people would subscribe if they knew what they're missing. They just don't have any idea of the difference between terrestial and Sirius.
Sirius Rich
Put Howard in a NASCAR telling Crazy Alice to turn right during a race. Have the broadcast of that convesation coming thru a Sirius portable in the stands.
slu
I think promoting free streaming for 100 and 101 for a limited time is a great idea, but only if they fix the damn streaming issues that I am currently dealing with. It is driving me crazy.
