At first he wasn't doing the news updates because of "throat" issues, and now the last time he wasn't on someone mentioned "scheduling" issues or something.
Did he finally get grossed out too much? Was he insulted by Gary's "I hate George Flowers" tirade?

me too. i think something went down.
it may me as simple as howard liking steves style of "reporting" better. he always concieved the news department to be straight laced and professional and steve fits that profile the best. george is still serious but as he got more comfortable i noticed he increased his attempt to crack jokes during the updates, pretty much all of which failed miserably.

lisa is another one now with the bad jokes. the only thing that is even remotley funny about the concept of the news would be a professional straight laced news team covering the depraved stern universe. lisa fucks up the whole concept everytime she starts attempting comedy! if i were her i would play it very serious whenever i go into the studio if she wants to keep doing the updates. |

I can take or leave Howard 100 news -- but I liked how George Flowers was so conservative...it was funny -- and it really got under Penny's skin... :p
I don't mind it as much as I used to -- are there fewer "updates" for what's coming up? I'm less annoyed by it... however, it seems that the news is getting phased out. Bummer if any more people lose their jobs... |

| I think that Lisa is just completely clueless. I cringe every time I hear her voice and I completely agree about her horrible jokes...they never make any sense and no one ever seems to have a reaction to them, yet she still tries every time. |

There DEFINATELY is more to the story for why Flowers doesnt do the updates anymore. However, Langford is really great and also has a great voice. Sometimes though I think when he is getting ripped on he takes it a bit too personal, and doesnt realize it is for the show.
In terms of Penny, I am a huge fan. She is the absolute perfect reporter for Howard 100 News, she defines Howard 100 news. Looking back on it, when I used to watch her on Fox 5 here in NY, I should have known she would be perfect for a all Howard Stern news crew! |

| Steve Langford used to work for our local CBC station in Montreal, Quebec. I actually have video of him doing a really funny story on how a certain food was invented in Quebec. All of his reports were humourous and I'm not surprised that he's working for Howard now. I wonder if I should send a copy to Howard. |

One would think a Tight-Ass such as George would be a great contrast to "The Show"
personalities collectively and at times George was exactly that! The problem I have with him
is he hid his feelings too much when either asked or confronted with something he was
uncomfortable with. Bring it up in a timely matter, don't snicker in the back or sugar-coat it,
"Keep It Real"! That's what "The Show's" all about!
Actually I like Steve better!
Please whoever does it, no "Shaloms" needed! He's polluting the air enough!

| If its true that Liz is gone now. I think George is probably on his way to kiss her ass wherever she lands. But who knows we may get his Anchorman personna back. He does sound like he is one of those guys on TV that reads whatever is put in front of him. :D |

History has proven that it is most entertaining when Howard gets any guest into the studio (including behind the scenes staff), and brings them into the fold. In other words, gets them to loosen up and be honest. This applies to Lisa G. too. It's cool if she starts her update trying to act serious, but I like when she (or any guest) gets comfortable and joins the joking around. George Flowers proved that he was a stuffy, serious, old fart who didn't get it, and therefore it was not funny or fun (Billy Crystal impersonation) when he was in the studio. |

| George FLowers isn't doing the updates as a protest to the channels Howard 100 and 101! Georgie poo is upset because he believes that the howard channels allows to much racial content that he believes is offensive due to the fact that he has a black wife. He won't even let his wife listen to the show. He is only there for a paycheck while calling Artie a racists and trying to promote his weightloss club! If George doesn't like it then leave. Why work for some you despise! |
